A Georgia nail salon is under fire for charging $5 extra to customers who exceed their salon chair's weight limits.

Weight is not protected under discrimination laws like race. With the exception of a few people (Medical problems that make weight control difficult), weight is largely a choice.

If heavier customers cost more, they should be charged more.

I was at the nail salon yesterday and some woman came in yelling and causing a rukus over the price of a full set with polish vs. the price of a full set with white tips. A 3 dollar difference. And the woman looked like a Titan.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

So..... if your weight is due to a medical condition you need to carry medical proof or how does that work?

Apparently she doesn't care that getting a French manicure takes longer than a straight polish.

You should carry proof that you are getting the problem treated. If you don't want to do anything about it, then its your choice and you should not get an exception.

You mean in the news business?

Yeah, seems like it.

I mean in the context of the story. Perhaps he was overcharged for being overweight.

Personally, I'd overcharge him for being a fat-headed, self-promoting wanker.

I guess he could stand to loose a few pounds but I doubt he would be described as "Obese".
