  1. I don't remember a 90 day counter on AOS. I thought the 90 day drop dead deadline was to marry after you exercise the K1 visa.

I was under the impression that everybody wanted to rush the AOS so that they could work, travel, drive, and enter the Social Security system.

I thought that you were entitled to stay in the country based on the fact that your were the spouse of a USC and that you had satisfied the terms of the K1 ( marriage within 90 days ). Are you saying that the spouse of a USC could be deported solely based on a late adjustment of status?

I was under the impression that once you married you were not obligated to a time limit for filing the AOS as long as the US citizen was able to sponsor the non-US spouse. I filed about 60 days passed my husband's K-1 expire date since we were waiting to send in 05 tax returns. I know you will need to show proof of employment once again with a letter from an employer stating work history with the company. This could be an issue since you go laid off, I would say try to get any jobs out there even if it's temporary. I know I work 4 jobs and as long as I am making above the poverty level requirement we are okay. The government doesn't care how you get the $ ....

  3. Lots of good stories.. Honestly, some nights we sleep fine togther all snuggly, other nights like the Sunday night I wondered #######... Although Sat. night was my night to be restless since once in awhile Iget that Restless Leg syndrome.

I have been messing around today on the internet looking for new beds, mattresses at Ikea. I might go up Saturday and see what they have up there cause maybe that will solve the problem.

    Thanks for the input....

  4. I am with you one day I was sitting in traffic with the excruiating pain in my head from one of the cars behind me. Enough torture on the highway dealing with the road rage, but then to have to listen to that too, when I am peacefully listening to my music ....

A couple of our parents drive up to the daycare every morning with the tunes on.. One mom said it was my birthday present as her car was booming outside as she checked her kid in , she didn't even turn off the car.

Wish I could be the terminator at times... LOL

  5. I have driven stick ever since I learned in college on a 69 Dodge Pickup. It had the shifter on the column. I worked grounds crew for 4 years in college and even got to drive a dump truck. Now I have an 86 Honda CRX.

Stick keeps my driving in control, I need to think as I drive, and I can also feel like a race car driver when

I get the urge to get aggressive in my driving.

  6. Just wandering how hard it is for everyone to adjust to Really sharing a bed with your spouse? While we were dating sleeping together was still a "hot item" . Now he bed hogs, steals blankets, passes gas, and tosses and turns all night. Then we get into fights in the middle of the night. Last night it was kind of warm in the house, he's not been in Tucson this late in the season, he wanted the door open at 1 AM and I said no way, I don't want someone walking into the house while I am asleep. Our door faces an alley, so we yelled at each other and he went outside to sleep on my hammock. When I left for work at 5:30 AM I went into the backyard and he wasn't there , so I peeked inside his truck and there he was asleep in the back seat. He got cold and didn't want to wake me up.

  7. The other posts are correct as long as you are married within the 90 days you are fine to file past the 90days. We sent in our paperwork about a month after the K-1 expired because I was waiting to file my 05 tax return since they ask for 3 years of tax info.

As the other posts state, the sooner you file the quicker you get your life out of limbo. As you see it takes 30-90 days to process the EAD and from 120-180 days to process the AOS. For us we are waiting to get the EAD which might not be until May And AOS may not be done until August.

My husband is in limbo keeping busy being a housewife.

  8. Well I liked Target until this week. All holidays they have put out cute tee-shirts.

I got a white one with a rhinestone black cat on it for Halloween, a black one with a Rhinestone red star on it for X-mas, a black T with silver hearts for Valentines Day, a black T with Green puffy paint dots for St. Pat's Day, but do they have Easter T-s with cute Rhinestone eggs, bunnies or flowers..... NOOOOO!!! They have 4th of July Shirts out already!

I think I will check at Walmart.....

    What's wrong with this picture???

    Doesn't Target like Easter????

  9. Well the IRS didn't waste anytime sending me my statement for money owed. I did my taxes in Jan. paid 1/2 of what I owed and then got another bill from the IRS within two weeks of filing for the other half.

They want our money, mine is already paid in for the year.....

  12. We married November 25. Went right down after the ceremony and got two certified copies of the marriage licsense at the County Clerks Desk. The K-1 expired Jan 19, we didn't get our packet sent in until Feb 2, since I was waiting for my W-2's to file my most recent year of income taxes as the USCIS now requires 3 years of proof.

It is now April 4, no news of anything except that Anton had his biometrics appointment.

Anyway we sent in one of the certified copies with our package. Get to your County office and get a certified copy of your marriage license.

  13. If you want an eyeopening account of what really happens to illegal immigrants on the US/Mexican Border read The Devil's Highway by Luis Alberto Urrea.

This is a true story of an incident that happened in May 0f 2001 when 26 men came in to the desert between Mexico and Yuma and only 12 survived the ordeal.

It's really let me rethink the whole situation here in the Southwest, and something has got to be done to catch the criminals who smuggle these poor trusting souls up here and let them die in the desert.

Mexico and the US must work together on the issues and not point fingers and try to criminalize the innocent.

    My opinion of course.......

  14. :luv: I think it's time to clean my litter box.. I voted once a fortenight, but what is that anyway.

Like Frances I use Feline Pine, scoop out the poops, but wash it out with bleach once the pine chips dissolve completely into sawdust.

I like Feline Pine cause it smells so good when it's brand new.

That clumping stuff grosses me out.

  15. I like your idea of going to Washinton DC, Baltimore area.

DC has all the great museums which are free, plus it's easy to get around via subway.

Baltimore is only a few hours away and the Inner Harbor is great.

    I loved the aquarium there.

New York City is great too, and easy to do things in , is the $500 just airfare, or will that figure in hotels and car rentals as well?
