  1. The Unitarian Church is a mixture of all beliefs rolled up in one, they also are nonjudgemental in gender identity. I went to one service and they read from several holy scriptures such as the Hindu, Buddist and Christian beliefs.

They also sang several Earth songs to include us " pagans".

I am an eclectic believer myself, mostly believing in the power of self, Mother Earth, and looking for the good in all people.

I go hiking every Sunday so I don't go to any "church building" our hiking club is my social, spiritual outlet.

  2. Since my old computer is so slow to place a personal pic on the avatar Iwent on to look at the premade ones.

The fairy/indian woman fits my personality and since being a member I have noticed no one else using the

    picture.

  3. :P We did our civil wedding in November so Anton could stay in the US and get on with the AOS. That was just a small few friends, going out for dinner after type wedding, although I did end up being late, couldn't find my witness, and forgot the flowers I brought for the ceremony at the JP, but yesterday was even funnier.

I wrote my ceremony and asked my friends to each have a part. Anton and I coreographed our entrance to and Elvis song, I Can't help Falling in love, we practiced the night before and also the morning before with the full ensamble of friends.

The practice went well except for some teariness of course from my friends who were doing the readings.

It was time for the real ceremony....

The first goof was my friend doing the music faded out the music before the most important Lyric... Take my hand, take my whole life too, then I turned around and the candles hadn't been lit on the alter. as we were about to do the unity candle lighting.

I just said, opps does anyone have a match. No one in the entire room had a match or lighter and I had left my lighter I brought up in the other house where I changed.

We had the wedding in a community clubhouse so there were a bunch of non-invited guests outside at the pool.

One lady who was sunning herself ran across the street to get us a lighter. So I just said, Take 2 Deborah and Anton's wedding and had everyone laughing. So Anton and I re-entered the music was cued perfectly the candles were lit, my friends didn't loose it crying and I had a few glistening tears in my eyes as I said my vows that I had written for Anton.

The other funny thing that happened, my camera man bent down , to pick up his Camcorder he had laid next to another set of candles next to our cake, we started to smell burning hair. He had burnt his bangs.

I guess we should have kept the candles unlit after all. LOL

What a memorable day that finally happened after a year and a half in the works....

  4. (L) We were just reminiscing about this a week ago. We met at a new member's orientation for the hiking club. I giving the new member information. I saw him, always being attacted to international men, the accent is what did it, my heart skipped a beat.

He went hiking with me as I was the guide he started conversing with me about dirt, my ex-boyfriend ( we were still together at the time) took him home. He talked about his stone sculpting hobby. I wanted to know more about this interesting man and see his sculptures.

The ex. got conviently ill for a week, I went out with Anton. The next thing he was proposing to me, I was breathless.

That was in Feb. by June I knew I was getting an engagement ring.

Yesterday we had a fun ceremony for our friends so now we've been married two times.

  5. Did your fiance' get her Visa?

The K-1 will be good for 90 days as a work permit, although when she enters the US she will need to get a work authorization stamp in her passport.

The catch is most border stations do not do that, I have only heard of JFK granting a work permit stamp.

She will have to go to a INS office locally if she does not get the stamp from the POE.

My husband entered into the US at night at a small border crossing, they did not know how to process

his K-1 and had to call a higher up to get authorization. Therefore he never did a work permit stamp.

He decided not to work since entering into US and is now a house husband.

He had to reapply with our AOS and pay another $200 to get another work permit when his K-1 ran out. We haven't heard anything as of yet.

    Good Luck,

  6. Is your question about you the US resident entering into Mexico. The US resident is free to visit the non-resident fiance' without any delay or problems. A passport should be fine, are you flying?

You will also show proof you are returning to the US.

I went to Canada several times while we were processing our K-1 application with no problems at all.

The bank statements, payroll stubs sound fine too.

I also included noterized copies signed by the bank, as well as letters from my employers showing proof of employment.

    good Luck, and happy traveling..

  7. :P I'm back! Wow what happened while I was gone... I joined about a year ago, and I have been busy working and earning money and waiting for my Tax W-2's in order to submit my Affidavit of Support for my husband.

We got married in November after Thanksgiving. We finally sent the AOS paperwork in today!!! Hip horray!!

Anton is from Austria orginally and moved to Alberta, Canada. I met him here in Arizona.

I have lived in Arizona 17 years.

He is here with me now and we are awaiting the day when this is all over and we can spend 1/2 the year living and working in the US/ and the summer's in Canada relaxing and working on his house up there.
