  1. HI, We just had our interview on Tuesday, it sounds like you have a great amount of evidence. Your pastor's letter of membership in the church, the car insurance, ect...

We just gave them about three or four things and that satisifed the INS officer. A document from my job stating that Anton is my emergency contact, a Xerox of my retirement plan with him as beneficary, and a xerox of a CD that he opened with me as beneficary.

As far as photos , just make sure they have people in them other than you and your husband.

Our INS officer was more caught up on Anton's past border crossings rather, then on this present relationship, so I am sure you will have your own unique experience.

    Good Luck,

P.S. on your husband's change of job, I don't know the answer. She looked at my employer letters in the file and just asked me if I had the same jobs, the affidavit of support was already there.

  2. I was in a relationship I kind of wanted out of cause my ex was a heavy binge drinker and he was on the bottle , then he didn't want to get married either after 7 years of dating, so when I met Anton it was a quick escape and no looking back..

  3. I am so sorry this happened to you, I am feeling way blue myself today after a crappy interview yesterday.

My husband , then fiance in Jan 05 was denied entry into the US from Alberta. They also said, he did not have enough proof to show he was going back to Canada as he is a self-employeed business owner as well as he was visiting too much. He didn't get banned, but they told him if he tried to cross elsewhere or even within a few months of the denial he would be arrested and then banned from the US. So he stayed home, he tried to get a B Visitor's Visa at the embassy in Calgary but was denied as well. We did get his K-1 last July so him abiding by the laws did help I guess, or is it all a scare tactic?

This is the crappy thing that yesterday in the interview the INS lady was trying to manipulate him into making a mistake with his dates of crossings to try to get him to look as if he had crossed illegally once or overstayed his I-95's. She had all the dates of his crossings in his AOS file ,except the one that was hand written by a POE officer in his passport when he had tried to cross in 05. She kept grilling him on the dates to the point he got frustrated and started messing up the dates. I had to defend him and tell her he gets frustrated with remembering dates ,when she commented he was awfully nervous.

I wish you good luck with your K-1.

    Just stay the course.

  4. Well it's over and here's a bit of information although I am sure your interview will be or was much different from ours due to our unique situation.

We went to the INS Dept. here in Tucson. Well, at least it's only about 15 minutes from my house and we didn'thave to drive hours to get there.

Our interview was at 3 PM ,we got there at 2:40 PM and went through security, dropped our letter into a mailslot in the wall and waited. Two other clients were in the office waiting as well.

At 3 PM a INS officer came out and called us in. Her name was Denise, and then she sat us down in a real sparse office like we we're having a job interview. Some guy not introduced sat behind her the whole time looking bored and reading the Phone book. She swore us in, and started asking questions going down the biography page and flipping through the AOS folder of information. She asked Anton for his passport and took his I-94 and then started comparing her entry notes with his passport notes of entry and departure.

She really grilled him on why he was denied entry in Jan of 2005 and it was recorded in his passport , but she did not have any computer records of it.. He explained it all, now he is not good with remembering dates or numbers and started to fumble about what years he had come to visit Tucson. She said, you are nervous. He said yes, I said, he has a very hard time remembering dates and can hardly remember what happened yesterday.

Well, then she asked about how we met and I chimed in and told her the story, and she asked about the wedding and who attended and why our families hadn't attended, why I hadn't changed my name to his name, and if I had traveled to Canada or Austria to met his family and if he had traveled back to PA to meet mine.

Then she asked for some bank documentation, my rent and what was going on there, which I explained to her was a private deal between me and a gentleman who is like my grandfather and only he only charges minimal rent.

She did perk up when I showed her our wedding reception invite which had a PA Dutch Hex sign symbol on it and she said, OH, I think I saw one of those before when I lived in New York. We showed her wedding pictures and cards too.

She then took Anton back and fingerprinted him, sent him back to me and we could hear her discussing with the other guy that she had never had a case like this before since he is a landed immigrant to Canada from Austria, and about the missing POE information.

Anyway after about 5 or so minutes of discussion in the back she came back in, said I can't approve your case today anyway, because your medical file was sent to Missouri, and I will need your immunizations authourized by an immigration doctor since he had included a County Health immunization record in the AOS and that isn't good enough. She also said she will need to perform several more background checks and it should take a month to hear from INS with a Welcome Letter from her, but in the meantime she will not be available and we can come to the office and check if needed on the case status.

If he does get his Green Card and we do not do the Removal of Conditional Status before the time is up within whenever that happens he would probably not be deported to Canada, but to Austria, since he will not have his Canadian Residency anymore. I don't know if that warning is true, but she added it, and said goodbye.

She didnt' even shake hands or anything, and I asked for her card and she said she didn't have any but wrote her name on the back of one of our copies.

    Thank God IT's OVer~~~~

  5. If you don't like rain come to Arizona , we are in the worst drought ! We had two weekends in March when it rained and that's it!! It's dry and hot!! It almost hit 100 degrees , although when you get close like 98-99, it doesn't really matter anymore.

8% humidity, yesterday was 5%, at least our evaporative cooler is working to keep the house cool.

  6. I really cannot comment on the mail order bride thing, I'm neither for or against it, but it is good that the US government will be providing some protection for the one that is entering into a contract with the US citizen.

I think also, if one wanted to do the K-1 fiancee' thing more than once they are nuts so three times is pretty generous.

  7. My husband just got his driver's license here in AZ. He needed his passport, proof of residency with something with his name on it and my address. I think also his Social Security card. I know he only had to take the written test, which is now computerized.

    Good Luck,

Just wondering what he used as proof of residency, as from your time line I dont think I saw that he has his greencard yet?

    Thanks for your help

    Clara

He also needed his 1-94 and the last document that INS sent us with the interview date on it.

  8. I don't quit understand your question? Do you mean a marriage certificate? I don't see any timeline or any information on your case, so have you started the K-1 Visa process. If so, you both go to your local city hall and apply for a marriage license, here in Pima County all you do is take valid proof of age requirement, and sign a paper saying you don't have any sexually transmitted diseases , your not marrying a family member and pay $50. They crank out your marriage liscene which you take to your ceremony and have two witnesses sign as well as the judge or minister. Then you go back to City Court get a certified copy , which means it's noterized by a state employee, and pay another fee per copy of certified lisense.

Good luck and I hope this information helps.

  9. :crying: This marriage thing is a roller coaster , if you don't get off without a little screaming it wasn't a fun ride. We have our moments too, like now!!! I give him advice about his truck and he rolls his eyes at me.

Anyway, your will come back and things will be okay.

Visa Journey is a fun way to express ideas and feelings to each other as universal friends going through this crazy process.

  11. Yay Trader Joe's Mochi Ice Cream, soo good. I hate those big trucks tailgater my little CRX. I got into a fender bender Saturday, lucky it wasn't my car, I had to stop fast for a kid in the cross walk, the lady behind me got it. We got bumped into though when her car came forward into ours, and lucky for the lady behind her she didn't get it cause the SUV behind her drove up on to the median to avoid hitting her.

    Bam, Bam, Bam, Bam
