  1. Nearly 1,200 Elementary, Middle School and High School Students walked out of classes this week for three days in a row protesting against crackdowns on illegal immigration and border security here in Tucson.

Those who walked out came from at least 18 schools.

Students gathered downtown at the federal building and marched in the streets snarling traffic on Congress street between the hours of 10:30am-2:30pm

School officials and police rushed to manage the situation, delivering water, sending schoolbuses to pick students up and brainstorming ways to prevent the walkouts from continuing as classwork took a back seat to activism.

Many educators say many students are trying to get a day off, but others are comparing it to the 60's when Hispanic students took to the streets the last time and are encouraging the students to make a difference.

School officials are continuing to walk a fine line at Tucson Unified School District saying they don't condone the behavior, but will decide on discinplinary action on a case-case basis.

They hope that the students will not continue walking out next week because AIMS testing begins and seniors will need to pass to graduate.

Students are still talking about more demonstrations to make their voices heard.

  2. Yesterday Anton was leaving his property, about 35 miles outside the Tucson city limits. A hot area of undocumented workers walking and looking for rides. A Border Patrol agent pulled him over, and inspected his truck. He still has his Alberta plates on, since his father owns the truck and it's registered in Canada.

The Border Patrol agent was friendly enough, said he was doing a routine inspection as Canadians are coming down here and taking Mexicans to Canada to work.. LOL

He also warned Anton and told him he needs to always have his Passport with him at all times or he could get arrested.

Anton said, he is not risking his Passport getting stolen or lost, so he's just going to carry around our Notice of Reciept of AOS, EAD....

  3. Thanks for the input everyone , we are all in this together. I know USCIS wants to see us spending, spending, spending to prove we are in LOVE! and have a good marriage.

Love and marriage is not about things.... as we all know from these posts , but plain hard work, compromise and best of all someone to hug at night.

Anton and I have faced some $ issuses but I am now seeing his point in it all and we are compromising...

    This is important above all....

    Good Luck Everyone.....

  4. Argg! It seems like 75% of our time together is arguing about credit card debt, mine of course, and how to pay it off the quickest.

Anton wants to dump huge loads of money onto the cards that are the highest % interest. My idea is to pay an amount over the min. amout owed, so I still have $ in my bank account in case of emergency and I still have my cards paid off each month.

Anybody else get into arguements about $...

    It's Driving me crazy!!!!

  5. Men are the worst patients... I know when Anton was sick he acted like a baby, yet wouldn't do anything about it, until I shoved a cup of hot tea into his hands laced with Whiskey...

When women are sick we still work, do dishes, cook and take care of our illness before we are allowed to act sick..

  6. A fast-paced read, worth the time, excellent that it's introduced the concept of the Divine Feminine to the world at large; clearly the work of The Goddess is afoot.

    :)

    The Goddess is A Foot.....

I'd like to believe in a divine feminine/masculine working together rather than that scary old man up there on his throne throwing down lightning bolts on the sinners.

Although today, having a religious experience while driving made me pray several thank you's to who ever was up there looking out for me, or it may have been a head on collision and I may have been through the windshield.....

    Blessed Be

  7. Fiction... A good thriller, disappointing ending... kept me entertained... I would like to think Jesus was married but...who knows, since I believe the whole Jesus thing is a myth from other myths..

Saw a good movie.. The God who Wasn't There explains more myths...

I am looking forward to the movie, think the whole suing plagerism thing was a crock as the writers who are suing Dan Brown are just mad that they aren't getting any royalties from his Best Seller...

  8. Adding my experience to the mix of answers ..... when you go in for the interview at least with us they just wanted the legal documents such as affidavit of support, police certificate, ect... I don't think they even cared if he had reciepts for rings and such although as every answer goes it depends on the agents at the window.

We planned two wedding dates and they both fell through because of delays.

When he came into the US we went to the JP first and then later planned the big wedding.

    Good Luck...

  9. Just write it all in or like the last reply get a blank paper. I have 4 jobs and submitted all of them to provide evidence of support and I didn't have any trouble. I got four employee letters as well and submitted them. They just want to see that you work to make the min. requirement, they don't care how many jobs you have to get there....

    Good Luck

  10. Congratulations on Recieving your Visa....

When you arrive in the US get married as soon as possible.... don't forget to get your certified copy of the marriage licscene... get the paperwork prior to your getting married, start filling it out and send it in.... I can't tell you how long it's going to take, but be prepared to keep yourself busy once you arrive in the US because we were married in November, applied for AOS and EAD in Feb. and we are still waiting for EAD, I would think now that we are married the US would want some more tax money from my husband.....

    GOOD LUCk

  11. Hi, Once your K-1 process is recieved by USCIS your fiance' will not be allowed to use the Visa Waiver process. I suggest to wait until after he visits at Christmas before sending in your paperwork so he can get in with his Visa Waiver... I know from experience as my husband was barred from the US for 6 months after returning to Canada on his Visa Waiver after we had submitted the paperwork last year in 2005.

    Not a fun experience......

He had documentation and everything of residency in Canada at the time, although he was not entering via the airlines, but I would hate to see your fiance' spend tons of money in airline tickets and get turned away.

In any case you will be allowed to leave the US to visist him anytime.....

Remember these rules are not set in stone so what happened to us may not happen to you, because it depends alot on the POE officers.

    Good Luck.....

  12. Ponder this: Light generated by the sun on the day of Shatner's birth has traveled 400 trillion miles by now.

Shatner was born March 22, 1931 in Montreal. He began his acting career performing at a young age for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

Of course we all love and know him in his role as Star Fleet Capt. of the USS Enterprise...

  13. In Tucson all skunks are suspects of having rabies... we have even had skunks jumping out and biting hikers on the trail..

A couple of weeks ago we had a skunk in the trash can by our classroom, the fire company came , put a lid on the trash can and removed the entire can down into the wash, it sprayed in the trash can, we were pretty sure it had rabies because of the way it acted...
