  1. Here I am up at 1:15 am . I haven't had insomnia in a long time since Anton and I got settled in with each other. It took us quit awhile to get our sleeping rythyms down and now he's gone. The house is too quiet. I am very sad cause he was sort of planning on going with me and some friends to New Mexico over the 4th of July to rent a cabin for 4 nights up in Cloudcroft, and now he just told me he will have to work since he just got this new job and he won't ask for it off , since the company will be working on the holiday. I wonder if it is a cop out! Anyway, this is a bummer deal!

  2. Happy Birthday to the other girls on 6/27. I'm single again for the time being, going out for lunch with the girls and then doing a hike in the evening with other friends.

  3. I go on line about once a day depending on how boring the day is. I nanny a 12 year old girl in the afternoons and alot of times this is when I am posting since she seems anymore not to want to be bothered and I am just playing security guard until her mother gets home. I originally came on board to get information, but see alot of us in the same situations and enjoy posting in the Off Topic since that is the more interesting part of the Board.

  4. Well, Anton finally left today for his job in Flagstaff. Four hours N of Tucson. I really wanted to quit my jobs and pack up and go with him, but the job is temporary until September or So and then he will be back down here for the Winter.

I realistically couldn't lose out on what I have going on down here in Tucson as far as work since we have bills to pay and just bought a newer car.

It's just so quiet here tonight. I am used to him clanging around in the kitchen since he is always cooking or watching TV or playing computer games.

Back to the single life with the cat, I know I can read in peace again, and I guess listen to some music tonight, and adjust.

This will be the first night in months I haven't had him to snuggle against despite his farting at night.

    LOL....

  5. I'm turning 40 too next tuesday, basically I don't think I am any happier than when I was younger. I think actually when I was younger life had more excitement cause I used to do a lot of crazy things. We still do alot of crazy things, but I basically don't get so excited over doing them.

I notice I like to tie on a good buzz now and then with a couple of friends, and can do so without getting much of a hangover like I used to get in my younger days.

Basically with problems and peole I have mostly been through it all already once or twice so I know what my chances are of getting through it again.

I know how to weigh my choices, and fight to get what I want better than I did in my younger days.

I know how to stick up for myself a little better too, although I still try to avoid conflict at all costs.

The weirdest thing is working with 19 year olds who think I am OLD ( actually I could be their mother)>>>but I don't give a Sh8t. I just tell them wait till you get to be 40. I do all the work around the place anyway, they come dragging in each morning acting like they are 90. Although dumb kids stay up all night and don't get any sleep. I don't sacrifice sleep anymore.

  6. Happy Summer To all our Northern Hemisphere friends and of course on the Southern Side Winter!

It's stinkin hot here in Tucson... 105 plus the humidity is building. 20%, but remember it's a dry heat.

What are you doing to celebrate?

I'm having a wine and cheese party at our Local Stonehenge to watch the sunset, and welcome those summer rains.

  7. I thought Canadian citizens could spend up to 6 months in the US without any hassle visiting. Were both of you trying to cross the border when this happend or him alone? What POE? Were you on an airlines or driving?

My husband who is an Austrian Citzen with Landed immigrant status in Canada used to come across to the US from Alberta all the time before we started the K-1 process.

In fact I crossed the border with him in 2004. No problems, then we applied for the K-1. He made it across into the US before the paper work was recieved and spent 3 months with me.

As an Austrian Citizen with landed immigrant status he was only allowed to spend 3 months at a time with a Visa Waiver.

He had to return to Canada in Jan 05, and intended to come back again for his next three months when he was denied entry into the US.

The POE officer had the same reason lack of ties with Canada, so he was not allowed back into the US until he recieved his K-1 last July.

We had our interview for AOS in May. The INS officer who interviewed us was very interested in his denial.

Since she had no records of it, but it was recorded in his passport.

In your situation, I don't think I would write extra letters showing your mistake, if he wasn't fingerprinted, and he stays in Canada until he gets his K-1 everything will be okay.

The POE officer should have filled out a report and everything gets put into the computer. It will show up somewhere, but wait till your interview to explain the reason for his denial.

    My opinion anyway...

    good luck,

  8. HI, we'll the advice was good. Like most relationships couples have disagreements, at least Anton and I fight , cause my ex-boyfriend prior to Anton would go to the silent treatment and then hit the bottle for a couple of days, and he still wouldn't talk about what was bugging him.

Your absolutely right about doing the Laundry frequently... LOL.... I guessed I missed that thread..but I get the meaning...

Right now, things have stablized and we gotta deal with what's coming our way....

    Good luck everyone..

  9. Thanks for all the great advice. Iended up buying the car, as I did car fax it, and took it to my Honda Mechanic. It checked out clean. I talked the dealer down a little bit, but the car is definately worth the price.

As far as timing belts go...the Honda mechanic recommends a belt change at 60,000 as general matainence anyway.

I have a year warrenty on the car so that can all be done for a small co-pay of $20.

Anyway, my old car is still not working right, It's still overheating after $400 of repairs and then Anton's truck keeps breaking down,

So we really had to get this car....

It's a done deal, it's sitting in my carport...

  11. This seems like a common occurence between us married folk, the one wanting something while the other is more reserved. Hah, me and my hubby are fighting over a car I want, and he thinks we should wait on.

Anyway, I think you are absolutely correct, the more you bid , the more the other person might have bid, it was how bad the other person wanted the house.

You sound like you know what you are doing with finances and you can't leave beyond your means.

We can only work so many hours in a day.

Good Luck with your wife, and getting what she would like in a house.

  12. I found a sweet little 96 Honda DX hatchback at a private dealer. The guys seem like decent, honest dealers.

It has 120,000 miles. The dealer wants to sell it for 4,480, blue book is at 5,440 .

    It's in mint condition.

Nice paint job, clean interior, ect.

The only thing wrong is a non- Honda air conditioner someone replaced. So basically if the air goes no replacement part from Honda.

Other than that it has minor issues such as a rear end alignment, transmission fluid change and maybe a timing belt.

Ihave great Honda mechanics and I am not worried about this car.

It also has a one year warrenty for major repairs so I can get those things fixed under the warrenty.

    What do you think?

  13. My husband has a bug up his butt, he is getting of course frustrated about not getting this green card thing, how the INS department has told him, don't take action until we tell you to on his immunizations, and the fact that it's hotter than hades here in Tucson.

He is going up to Northern Arizona to work with my blessing to get out of the heat for a few months. A long commute on weekends, but at least he will be less miserable.

He also is on a power trip about me buying a car I like vs the car he wants us to have,( another thread) anyway last night he says I might as well go back to Canada.

I said, if you do you forfeit your whole green card and you will not be able to come into the US for over ten years.

He kept arguing they can't deny me my greencard no matter where I am. Have you researched this on the internet?

Of course when he's in one of his moods, I might as well be talking to the brick wall, cause I can't reason with him.

    Back me up here...

If he leaves the US without AP or the green card he's screwed!!!!

    I know I am right.

    thanks for listening...

  14. good Luck and quick results for you to get your approval.

Everyone is different in there green card results depending on your specific situation.

It has been nearing 1 month since our interview and nada, approaching 120 days on the whole AOS paperwork.

It looks like the INS officer wants to make sure you are spending money together and took the affidavit of support.

    Moondancer

Moondancer, did the INS take away your I94 after the interview?. My I94 was taken away, but not the EAD

Oh, they did take the i-94 out of the passport. I got confused with all those numbers. This was our biggest hangup, the officer wanted to investigate if Anton had any over stays and why he kept traveling into the US so much! duh. He had a girlfriend, me.

  15. Tomorrow is our one month anniversery of our interview date.Anton went into to see what is going on with his lost file, good thing we only live about 15 minutes from the office.

Our interviewing INS officer told him if he wanted to go to an immigration doctor here in Tucson to get his shots verified, but today when he asked they said don't do anything until we tell you to.

His file is still lost in cyberspace, Or whereever lost K-1 files go after the Embassy.

    This is exhausting!!!
