  1. My husband has residency in Alberta/ landed immigrant from Austria in 1995.

He just got his green card here.

He needs to maintain residency in Alberta to keep his health coverage, then he wants to work down here in the winter's to stay warm. He is going to put me on a family health plan up there too, so I will start spending summers up there with him.

    Anyone have two residency's?

Here in US and there in Canada?

    thanks for any answers.

  2. I don't know about rental homes around State College, I used to live about 30 minutes NW of there in a small town called Philipsburg. I know it's dirt cheap to live there, but the commute is nasty in the winter.

  3. How did this thread turn into flaming..... a simple question was asked... my husband grew up Catholic, goes to church once in awhile and goes through the ritual, but mostly is agnostic/ me I'm pagan...

Cause everyone is still worked up about the "other" thread...

Joel and I don't claim anything. Growing up baptist and being abused by a man who used the bible as his excuse for his behaviour left a bad taste in my mouth for "religion".

Eh, we love being outdoors, hiking, that sort of thing. There's ways of worshipping without being in a building. I prefer to worship (if that's the right word) the way my ancestors, the Cherokee, did...by respecting the Earth. Hmm....does that make me pagan? :)

What other thread, the one at 35 pages? I guess it's all in what you think you are... religion is just a way to define our World view... I guess you could say I am a bit of everything... Christian, Wiccian, Native American, Buddist, ect...

  4. I think girls should be able to choose when they want pierced ears... Babies are cute with ears pierced, but I would be afraid that the earring could get pulled out and swallowed.

On the other hand my mom said I couldn't pierce my ears, so I didn't get it done until 22.

  5. And the rant's keep going.... just started a new job, feels like the old job same shist, different people and kids.

Want to quit minor Sat. job that I make a lousey $8 paycheck cause after 10 years of working at the YMCA teaching an exercise class, I get yelled out cause I can't find a sub to cover class that I was to sub when I had to work late at first job.

Friend p&ssed at me cause I am dogsitting over weekends and can't go camping.

I work too much and don't have enough money and always am working more at minor jobs to keep the bills paid.

Then I have to pay high taxes cause I have way too many jobs that are too small to take out Fed. income tax or state income tax cause then I might as well not even work it, I would be making $2.

Update to this rant... the friend got over being Pizzed at me for dog sitting, I just resigned the minor Sat. job cause after 10 years for $4 it just isn't worth it, no matter how my class likes me ,I'd rather have a whole day to go somewhere, without ever finding a sub... I need to start looking into taking some online classes or something to start working on the other jobs so I can get a better paying job.

  6. Barney, a Doberman Pinshcher on guard duty at Wookey Hole Caves a children's museuem near Wells England... got a little bored the other night and instead decided to shread Elvis's toy Teddy Bear valued at $75,000.

When Barney's trainer was asked why he shredded so many Teddy Bears, he broke out into Elvis's Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear."

  7. Can I still post after24 pages? Yep, this should be all over now! Nuff said, but I just saw her picture which wasn't there a few days ago. Either it was posed or they seem happy enough.

Relationships can't be judged everyone is different. If they look happy and it's between the couple whose paying and supporting with $ that's up to them not us to decide what is up.

  8. Our interview is tomorrow afternoon!! I don't know if I can sleep! I hope all goes well and I can post a big ol' approval message tomorrow. We did a little pretend interview earlier today and I think he's in good shape. ;) Okay just had to share a bit and unload some...good night all :star:

Try to sleep, think good thoughts and Iam wishing you good luck on your interview...

  9. I thought cutting the foreskin was just standard practice right after the kid is born. Anyway , I was kind of shocked to know when I first met my hubby that he hadn't been, and it's been the best "zoom, zoom " ever...

As far as cleanliness, just wash it every day..

  11. I have caller ID and answering machine, since one of my friends refuse to leave a message I check caller ID.

Out of 10 calls a day at least 9 are credit card companies trying to give me another card, sell me satillite TV, or some other "CHOP$U*k thing."

  12. It was a magical moment. I was the new member coordinator for our hiking club. I walked into the room at the U of A, Anton was standing there looking at a map.

I said, hi. He spoke the Austrian accent blowing me away.

I asked where he was from?

He said Calgary, but he grew up in Austria.

From that point on we knew we were destined to be together.

He said, I'm hiking with you, and sure enough he showed up on the next few hikes I led .

Now he leads me around... LOL...

  13. Hi Mandi,

Sorry your feeling down!!! I have been having on and off days myself and we are through this visa stuff, yet being apart still continues cause my husband couldn't handle the heat here in Tucson, and headed to Northern AZ, for work, I drove up once this summer to visit him and really wanted to stay, but I got bills to pay, now he has to head home for a few months cause his father needs help getting ready for Winter, again I could drop my life down here, but bills won't get paid and I won't be able to work in Canada so I choose to be separated from him due to reality!

He is coming down this weekend to Tucson and then maybe another time before he leaves for Alberta. I will probably fly up in December on Winter Break.

I thought I was really feeling depressed, why! I don't know. I got a newish car, $ in the bank, A cell phone update, DSL internet, and a decent new job.

What's up with depression, mostly an emotional rollercoaster or a chemical imbalance that can be kicked by meds, which I don't go for either, exercise( I took a walk yesterday and felt so much better) writing to friends, calling friends, venting on a thread, writing poetry, dancing, listening to music, singing, Dont Drink, smoke, overindulge in too much sugar, you just feel worse.

I do take Evening Primrose, and Saint John's Wort, which are some natural mood enhancers.

    Whatever helps.

    Good Luck and feel better,

    Hugs,

    Moondancer
