Was about 10 days for my results.
They had long since destroyed my vaccination records when I went hunting for them, so I also got by on just a titers tests.
You can still book your appointment, you will have the results and the requisite boosters you need by the time you have to go, the doc can give them to you when they go over the results of the tests with you, the shots are a stocked item.

Doctors have to apply to USCIS to become panel physicians and then USCIS has to approve them. There used to be more available but about 3 or 4 years ago there was a big 'de-listing' of panel physicians by USCIS in Canada. I don't know if anyone ever told us the reason, but yeah, it sure seems unreasonable that there are so few for such a large country.

Diana, I suspect it is likely some of your miscommunication is a result of a slight language barrier, its obvious your English is not as fluent as your French likely is. Knowing how difficult communication when only using text is, then adding difficulties from language diffrences, I think you may be perceiving people to be more arrogant or offensive to you than they really are.
No one here is telling you that you cant have an opinion about how much the process sucks, or how craptastic it can be to deal with a CBP officer who seems to want nothing to do but hassle you (or multiple officers?). However, when posters here tell you that you have NO rights at the border when attempting to cross and dealing with a CBP officer, that is not an opinion, it is fact. When someone tells you that you can be denied for any reason whatsoever, it is not opinion, it is fact.
No one here is lying to you, or trying to trick you, and if you actually take the time to read the FAQ's, the How To's and the Wiki's available here on the site, you would see that what you have been told is very much corroborated there.
We are all here to help one another with the process of getting to our loved ones, and being forewarned is forearmed, but acting hostile to the other posters isnt going to earn you any friends, and soon you may find yourself with a lot less allies to help answer questions on your journey.
Good luck with your visa, I hope the process is smooth for you.

In answer to this, its mainly because you get your ability to cross back and forth freely, and and immediate Green Card upon activating your VISA, the K-1s have about a 9 month wait to get their VISA, then another 3-5 month wait to obtain these priveledges through EAD, AP, and AOS process, as well as paying yet MORE fees to get them. Factoring that in, the CR-1 is actually faster overall, as well as cheaper.

Seems more like its the fault of business and employers for creating an environment where jobs are scarce, and people are afraid to lose their jobs for any reason whatsoever. No loyalty to good workers, no commitment to them, and in return, no reciprocation, stop treating employees like office supplies. They bred this situation of fear and economic uncertainty, no one else.
Businesses want more people to spend? Commit to your employee, give them reassurances that they will still have a job a year from now, or 2 years unless they #### up horribly. People will spend money if they know they can eat next month....

I guess asking a question means it is ignored like the advise you have already been given. You have so far ignored the rules for filing a petition, ignored the requirements for a petitionable relationship, ignored what we have offered, ignored the question I presented in response to you request for a question about facts. You can ignore us all you want. But ignoring the rules and requirements is just causing you to throw your money out the door. I hope the fantasy togetherness is good enough for you ,because your refusal to work in the rule and regulations is going to make it so that phone sex is all you are ever going to have. Personally I think we have all wasted too much time trying to show an extremely reality challenged person where the issues are. When you really want to know come and back, until then enjoy your pretend sleeping together , it is all you are elgible for.

Such a question would only be asked at a visa interview. There will be no interview in this case because the petition cannot be approved.
Your original question is moot. Your petition will be denied because your marriage is not valid for US immigration purposes. Proxy marriages MUST be consummated prior to filing the petition. Read the I-130 instructions for confirmation.

    Nab,
I understand why you would get defensive with so many members telling you, what you most likely, don't want to hear.
However, you need to recognize what these members are telling you. You need to try and be rational about this and REALLY think about it from the perspective of a consulate officer (or whatever we call them)...
You know what your relationship is. You believe what your relationship is...
however... to any external party, a marriage performed over the phone looks suspicious immediately. Even to those who had their relationship with their spouse start on the internet.
Then add in the fact the two of you have never met. This adds further suspicion.
This sounds like enough for the CO to disapprove your petition for a visa right away, without much thought.
    -You have never physically met
-You got married over the phone
-Your husband is from Pakistan. Because of the USA's perspective (and policies), American-Pakistani marriages and visa cases/petitions are handled much more carefully/strictly in the first place.
-Your husband was already denied a tourist visa. Your husband being denied any visa from the USA makes your case even more difficult. Being denied a visa never looks good.
Despite your health condition -- all you have is a suspicious case, yahoo logs, phone logs, a marriage performed via phone, and your word.
Your case just does not look very promising... and willingly denying that is just going to set you up for some disappointment and emotional trauma.
Other members and myself are only trying to help you. Nothing less, nothing more.
I'm sorry for everything you are going through.

It isn't us judging the way you got married, or your relationship, it's telling you what a marriage is by their definition. If you were not present at your marriage or it has not since been consummated, you will NOT get a visa. You're being incredibly rude, when people are attempting to tell you the TRUTH. Not their opinion, but FACTS.

Hey guys - just a quick check in.
You need to recognize that Guangzhou Immigration Visa Unit is one of the hardest in the world, is a high-fraud country - so the criteria utilized is much harsher than most other places.
Also, 'reporting back' to the Interviewee on 'exactly why we are issuing you a denial' is never done - usually, the most a person gets is 'not a bonafide relationship' and that's that. Filing a FOIA request takes months to get back, and rarely can see actual case notes on the casefile for interview day.
Even with that said - cut y2Catalyst some slack - as he's just had the biggest emotional bomb in his life. Seriously. Cut the man some slack. In a few days, or weeks, he'll be calm enough to be focused on the 'next thing to do' - but for now -
Cut him some slack - he just got a 'white slip' at one of the toughest MF'ing IV units in the world.

Diana, At no point did I indicate your English sucks, its pretty good, but its clear that its not your primary language, and being from Quebec, thats understandable, as I mentioned above, I figured that there was a strong possibility that some of the slight nuances were missed when reading others posts, making you feel like they were attacking you or "being rude", hoping that you would realize that no one is truly attacking you and that its likely you were simply misreading is all. I apologize if it read differently from my intent, it was 2am and perhaps I wasn't as clear as I needed to be.

First of all I commend you on your courage to express your feelings the way you have. Your not the first or only woman, or person, who is going through or has gone through what you are feeling. Relationships are all about compromise...when we are single it's only about one person and it's easy to be all about you. But relationships are hard because you are now one of two...and we cannot control the others feelings or actions, all we can do is pray the other person puts us first and we in turn should put them first and things should flow because you make each other happy.
It sounds as though your in a process of building for each other, he's studying now and you sacrafice. You have to look at the big picture not just what your feeling on your end. I'm not saying that your wrong to look at things the way you are but everything is life is a matter of perception, glass half full - glass half empty so to speak. So with that said, you can look at all your giving up, at how you feel now in this moment or you can hold tight to the promise of what is to come, when its your turn to live the dream you wanted for you, with the man you love at your side. You definately have the ability to communicate your feelings which in itself is half the battle. If he loves you the way you love him that in itself should make holding on worth it. Don't stay in the moment of hard times now, snap out of it and invision the future you are building together. Don't give up...true love is so hard to come by and your journey is far from over...
A wise man once said "If your going through hell, KEEP GOING"! Be strong see the potential of what is to come and keep it going. God bless you and give you both the strength, patience and love to hold on.

Does is matter I dont have a normal job persay. No boss that can write a letter? and that I dont live alone but with my mother so im under her wing persay? I have proof of residency and ties even without those two. thanks.

For such a "Positive" person, you seem to jump into defensive posture for no reason rather quickly.
All we are doing here is to prepare you properly with advice, people have been denied for valid as well as garbage reasons when crossing for visits even when everything seemed in order. Be prepared that it can happen to you, although it is rare fortunately.
If you jump to the defensive with the CBP officer when crossing as quickly as you do to people here, be prepared to find yourself dragged into secondary processing rather quickly.
To reinforce what Huggles said above, no matter how similar the countries are, YOU ARE ENTERING ANOTHER COUNTRY, they can turn you away just as easy as a restraunt can deny service for bad breath, so be careful what you say when crossing, short, sweet, and to the point, dont get defensive, or offended, dont offer any more information than they ask and it will all be fine.

The only thing they are concerned with is if the food you bring has beef and beef byproducts in it, due to the whole overreaction over mad cow disease found in Alberta a few years back. After the Canadian investigators traced the sick cows back to Montana originally, the US conveniently ignored this fact. heh
Anyhow, I took my dogs across a couple times, the ONLY thing they cared about with the food was beef content, nothing else, if it had any, I would have had to ditch it. (was lamb and chicken yay)

SupportGeek reacted to PhiLandShiR in Reagan Was Wrong: The Nine Most Terrifying Words Are, "I'm a Libertarian and the Market Will Save You"
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mitchell-bard/reagan-was-wrong-the-nine_b_628022.html
I was tailgating with my wife and two friends in the parking lot of Miller Park before a Brewers game yesterday, when a guy with a pasted-on, plastic, local-news-anchor smile approached our group. He wanted us to sign a petition to get his "buddy" on the ballot for state treasurer. Of course, the first question I asked him was which party his "buddy" belonged to, and the guy told us he was a Libertarian.
Poor guy, he didn't realize he was approaching a liberal blogger and his progressive friends. Not an audience that was going to easily buy what he had to sell. I politely told him that I wouldn't support a Libertarian candidate, and like a telemarketer dutifully and mechanically following a script provided to him to handle rejection, he asked why I didn't support Libertarians. I explained that I did not harbor a dislike or distrust of government, and that I thought there were certain jobs that only government could do. Without removing the wooden smile from his face, he moved to the next page of his telemarketer script and asked me if he could have one minute to "rebate" what I had said, and he proceeded to tell us that the free market is perfectly efficient and the best way to solve problems. I started to laugh and told him that, yes, the financial collapse two years ago was a great example of the market solving problems. And also, another great example was the oil pouring into the Gulf of Mexico. My wife and friends joined in the laughter, and our Libertarian guest could no longer maintain his fake smile. His voice and facial expression turned angry, and he stormed off to the next group of tailgaters, spitting out something barely intelligible at us as he left.
I thought this interaction perfectly encapsulated the anti-government, pro-market-solution obsession currently running through the right, especially among tea baggers and self-proclaimed libertarians. They love to cite Ronald Reagan's line that the "nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'" But I'm far more afraid of someone telling me, "I'm a Libertarian (or Tea Party member) and the market will save you."
You would think from listening to the rhetoric that we have two choices in this country: Either you adopt the right's notion of deregulation and an unfettered free market, or you are a socialist. There is no in-between. Which is, of course, patently false, but also maddeningly ignorant of recent American history. Taking the financial industry as an example, after the election of Franklin Roosevelt, Congress quickly enacted legislation, like the Securities Act of 1933, the Banking Act of 1933 (Glass-Steagall), and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, meant to curb the excesses of an unfettered financial system, which had led to the stock market crash of 1929 and the depression that ensued. And for the next 45 years, the country was able to avoid any mass financial collapses.
Then, beginning with Reagan, and continuing through George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and reaching its peak with the ultimate deregulation messiah, George W. Bush, the government took down the post-Depression financial regulation structure brick by brick, following a mantra that deregulation helped the market to function freely, and a free market will produce the best results.
What did we get? The savings and loan scandal, the Enron-induced power outages in California, corporate fraud (Enron, etc.) and, ultimately, a financial industry run amok (arcane financial instruments, insanely risky investments that banks profited from regardless of their success, and credit rating agencies handing out AAA ratings like candy to keep customers, just to name some examples), all leading to a near financial collapse that plunged the country (and the rest of the world) into a job-sapping, deep recession.
All evidence would seem to point to the need for some regulation to keep the banks from running amok, but the right still clings to its mantra of deregulation and unfettered free markets.
I also thought it was not a coincidence that not once, not twice, but three times during his two-minute pitch to us, our Libertarian petitioner talked of having the opportunity to "rebate" what I had said about his cause. (Not "rebut" or "debate" or whatever else he actually meant, but "rebate," which had me secretly hoping he had a way to refund to us some of our time he had wasted.) It was fitting because so much of the right wing/Tea Party/libertarian anger is based on false notions (much of it, no doubt, a product of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and the right wing media misinformation machine), and the urgency of his words was not supported by a basic ability to use the English language to make an argument, leaving the content of his claims even more suspect.
I can already hear the complaints now: I'm an elitist snob for chiding someone for making a mistake. If I was pointing out that, say, the guy who scanned our tickets at the Miller Park gate had been less than smooth with his words, I would deserve the criticism (that didn't happen, it's just an example). But here was a guy who was so sure of his beliefs, he not only gave up a Sunday to walk around a baseball stadium parking lot to collect signatures (admirable commitment), but he felt empowered to tell everyone there that he was right and they were wrong. And if you are going to take such a position and hold yourself out as an authority, it is fair to question the knowledge and intelligence underlying the strong assertions.
Our Libertarian petitioner's certainty isn't just simplistic, it is a real impediment to solving our country's problems. The alternative to unfettered free markets is not socialism, but rather, it is free markets with basic regulations in place to prevent abuse, just like the financial regulation architecture that protected the country after the Great Depression. (Somehow, I don't think we were living in a socialist state when Eisenhower and Nixon held the presidency.) I know subtlety is a lost art in modern politics, but if we are to survive, we will have to recognize that there are more than two extreme choices. These same right wingers don't seem to mind when the government subsidies the oil industry, and I doubt that they want to shut down the libraries, public schools, fire departments, and highway maintenance departments, all of which are run by the government (and would not exist if left to a private, free-market model). Conservatives, tea baggers and libertarians want you to think it's a simple dichotomous choice: free markets or socialism, or no government or all government. But such a reductionist view fails to account for how complicated and integrated the relationship between public and private actually is. (Yes, I know, asking for nuance rather than black-and-white distinctions is tragically 20th century.) Let's remember the angry town hall attendees last summer telling members of Congress to keep their government hands off of their Medicare. Even they liked a government program, but they didn't even know it.
There was one aspect of our Libertarian petitioner's approach that especially rang true to me: The false smile covering his real anger. Tea Party leaders are quick to say there is no place in their movement for racism, but at those same rallies you see racist signs about President Obama. Let's not forget the March Harris poll that revealed that 57 percent of Republicans think Obama is a Muslim, and 45 percent think he wasn't born in the United States. Somehow, I doubt these people would be concerned about the religion or place of birth of John Kerry, Hillary Clinton or John Edwards, let alone John McCain, Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani. When right wingers talk about taking "their" country back, it's hard to see "their" as meaning anything but a system in which power rested in white, male, Christian hands. When tea baggers put a happy, smiley face on the movement, I can't help but be wary of the angry snarl underneath. So I wasn't the least bit surprised when our Libertarian petitioner's plastic grin quickly devolved into an angry scowl when he realized that he didn't have the ammunition to win over someone who was even marginally informed.
These are not merely philosophical questions. Late last week, financial reform legislation was watered down at the last minute to ensure its passage. After what happened in 2008, opposing real reform in areas like derivatives and the so-called "Volcker Rules" defies logic. With unemployment hovering around 10 percent thanks to a recession precipitated by a near financial industry collapse, I don't agree with Ronald Reagan. I'm not scared of the government trying to help. But I am terrified of an unfettered free market allowing industry leaders, whether they be in the financial industry or the oil business, ruled by greed, putting the country at risk to unfairly further line their already bulging pockets.

Because the rule of thumb for the CBP officers is that they MUST assume that someone that wants to cross is not going to return unless they can prove otherwise to that officers satisfaction, and there is no hard and fast rule as to what is enough proof from officer to officer.
Her citizenship doesnt matter one whit, and the fact that shes undergoing a process to get a visa SHOULD help settle their minds, but for some it doesnt, it makes them more suspicious that you may not return. So would having a husband in the US while your place of residence is not in the US, to most officers this sets off alarm bells that this person has a strong reason to stay in the US and NOT return.
Making sure she has ties to Canada, to show she has reasons to return beyond "I was born there" will help the decision that she can cross if she is questioned or if there are doubts.
Many of us have gone through to visit our loved ones with pretty well no questions asked, many of us have been questioned heavily...some of us have been pulled into secondary because we didnt convince the first officer of our intent, and a few of us have been turned back and not allowed to cross at all.
