What you like or not doesn't matter.
People DON'T LIKE when you ask about something which can easily be found by reading guides and reviews.
Read first and ask questions later.

And what Mr. Smith says about that? This is definitely more important than what the people on this board think, IMO.

@OP: For I-134 it is based on your CURRENT income. You have to include past tax filings, but what really matters is your current situation. Enclose an employment letter with current salary shown and a few current paystubs.

Yes, you can apply for US visa in Canada. If you get CO nice enough, he/she may even listen to your whole story.
Look, nothing personal, but you really need to realize that:
    1. there is real border between Canada and US
    2. You will not be admitted into the US without proper documentation. Since you cannot use VWP, you will need B2 to enter.
I assume that your story is true, so I wish you luck with securing your visa and thank you for your service.
You need to keep in mind thogh that your visa can be denied because of previous overstay. It is just how these things work.

Can you call the vendors, wedding site, etc., and ask if they can move your reservations to another date -- ideally, one far in the future -- rather than canceling altogether? Otherwise, there's not much you can do.
This is why "Make no plans until a visa is in your hand" is a common refrain on VJ's K-1 forum. The USCIS does not care about our wedding plans and the process is what it is.

This is exactly why people are supposed to really know each other and be truly committed to each other. I see the failure as a two direction failure. There are some who will do anything to get to America including trying to think they're in love, while there are many Americans that seem to fall in love with the idea of being in love. No one on either side should enter into this process unless they really know the other person and are truly committed. People are not shoes you try on for a while, particularly when you have them giving up their lives in their home country to be with you. Also Americans are not a meal ticket and free pass to a better life. In both cases they are human beings, not tools to get something you want. These type of situations are exactly why they make it hard to get through this process. I just don't understand why people go into it so lightly. I guess I should be glad he was a dog, and she can dump him guilty free. But now we have another dog running around in America, who probably didn't deserve to get here. Another dark stain on the process, and another reason while some will try to make it even harder on the people with real intentions of making a working marriage. To those that seem to think the 90 days is a trial period, what did that letter mean you both wrote and signed saying you intended to marry? Do you often sign things you don't believe are true?

What?? No that's not what its about at all..... She got very lucky.. OP: This easily could have been a case of uprooting someone who changed their life to come be with you in a new country only to have you say "sorry, I made a mistake.. I led you and myself on for 8+months.. I'm bailing so it sucks to be you" ..... you did wait three whole days.. You could have ended up ruining someones life, instead you got lucky because your choice turned out to be dog who deserved it so it saved you having guilt.

You know I want everyone to have their happy ever after. But truly as a mother this screams warning warning warning . The flags are up and my stomach turned over reading your post. PLEASE however well intended and as good as this may feel now every relationship lives in a "honeymoon" phase and the ONLY way to move past the happy endorphine filled phase is to spend time together and really learn each others daily life and habits. It truly is much different. I would not be comfortable with my daughter going off like this alone. I commend you on your planning and researching but please think this over deeper. He might be a most loving caring and your Mr right, but then it might not be all it seems.
I hope you will do as others suggested and not do this alone. In any country it is not the best situation. The people here care what happens as we all have a very tough road by having long distance relationships heed their words and learn from their experience.
I wish you all the best...

Being snippy isn't really going to help you get the support you need here on VJ.
Also, I'm a planner too, believe me, and it is certainly good to think ahead of time about what the process will require if you should mutually decide to pursue a life together. But I would really question the motives of a guy who is willing to commit to someone from the other side of the world, sight unseen. Ask yourself if a reasonable adult would make a decision like this if he A) had an occupation, a good income, and a full life in his home country (I'm making an assumption that he does not, since you mentioned that he is in another country without a work visa), and B) involving someone from his home country. I would guess not. So, if he is willing to suspend the usual processes of being careful and cautious about something that will impact the rest of his life, why is this? The consular officers will assume that this is due to your nationality and potential to bring him to the U.S. (I'm also intrigued by the insurance settlement that you mentioned, which if he knows about it, could also be assumed to play a role in his decision-making processes.)
I'm also in the situation of making a gamble on someone from a mostly unfamiliar country, but we made that decision together after hitting it off in person and having our connection to each other attain "critical mass" through spending enough time together that we were willing to make sacrifices to pursue being together. Having interacted with someone online would not be nearly enough to justify making those sacrifices, for me. What if you go through all of this planning and traveling to visit him, and when you get there, find that he is really just not who you thought he would be, or vice versa? I wouldn't want you to go ahead with your plan just because you have constructed this Epic Love Story that must culminate in riding off into the sunset together, and would find it too jarring, upsetting, or embarrassing to deviate from the script.
Another issue that you haven't discussed is your potential to support him once he gets here. You say that you are 20 and unemployed. Co-sponsors are definitely an option, but I've read that co-sponsors may not be enough if you do not have the potential to generate a higher income yourself in the future. At 20, many people are enrolled in college and can be expected to earn more after graduation, but I'm not sure what your situation is or whether this is the case for you.
Just some food for thought: if the shoe fits, and all...

Tygrys got a reaction from Wally G! in B1/B2 multiple entry visa to US
You realize that having B2 visa in the passport doesn't guarantee admission to the US at POE?
B2s are most often admitted for 6 months, but admission itself and length of allowed stay are at the sole discretion of the CBP Officer.
Your MIL declared purpose of the trip and anticipated length of stay when she applied for visa in Manila and she will be asked at POE how long she intends to stay in the US.
If the CBP suspects that the visa will be used for different purpose that it was issued, they may deny admission altogether.
Not having return ticket may be perceived as not intending to return. Not a good idea, IMO.
