Ok, so entered, got married, entered with intent to adjust, attempted to adjust, got lazy and couldn't even go to her own immigration appointment and was presumably denied.
It doesn't seem as though your fiance has ever paid any attention to immigration before, why now?

I do not think that officer's action/behavior was wrong because- (1) one can not expect every officer to be kind, professional, humble and to be the one we prefer him/her to be. Keep it remember that each person is different and his/her modus operandi differs too. So can't and shouldn't blame the officer if he was different than "typical' officers that we hear on here by others who have gone to their interview; (2) OP did make so many statements to the officer which would have made anyone to be suspicious on the OP's marriage, and do not forget that OP must have received green card or must have filed her citizenship application based on marrying to a US citizen. So obviously, officer has all the right to grill her and suspect her if something does seem fishy. I'm not an officer not an attorney, but given OP's statements I myself doubt on OP's marriage. For example- there is nothing wrong to file a tax return separately despite of being happily married but parties can not expect everything to be in their nest. In OP's case, they haven't filed tax returned together as jointly because her husband is claimed as a dependent on her parents' returns. Tax returns are very important documents when it comes to immigration, but in OP's situation- they want to keep everything in their favor. They want her husband to be kept claimed as a dependent on his parents' tax returns and they also expect immigration to not be suspicious on their situation?? They want to expect everything in their favor.
Further, officer rightly asked why OP is not supporting her husband because a marriage means living and taking care of each other. Moreover, it makes situation more suspicious that her husband is a student and is being taken care of by his parents while wife loves traveling too often to Canada. Even though Canada is right off the bat, but it does cost money. She could have spent that money for her husband than letting him taking cared by his parents.
Whenever someone filed for a citizenship, he/she is asking immigration to review the entire immigration journey of them. So whatever questions officer asked were right and under the guidelines. Just because OP didn't get her case approved right off the bat or officer asked so many questions about her marriage and got suspicious doesn't mean officer was bad or unprofessional. He was just doing his job what he gets paid for. I would have done the same given the statements made by the OP. Now officer will ask supervisory review on OP's case. They would scrutinize her travels outside the US and might also her marriage situations. They MAY ask some other documents to get convinced of the bonafide of her marriage and eventually would approve her application. I had a very tough black lady officer when I was interviewed many years back. She gave the run of my application and was trying to put the words in my mouth to accept something which was not true. She even sat on my application for 3 months and called a few times to make me admit which wasn't true but finally she had no choice just to approve it. Officer knew that I would file the motion to reconsider my application if she would deny my case and then my case be reviewed by another officer. And she also knew that I could have taken the matter to courts. However, I do know that many officers don't care of your options; rather they purposely deny you but most supervisors don't act like this.
I think OP should just wait and do not assume anything at this time. In the end, everything will be just fine.

The US citizen has a US passport which gives you certain travel rights to other countries as well as the US. The green card only gives the right for someone to travel into the US. It gives no international travel rights.

It doesn't matter what you think really. All that matters in this case is how USCIS sees it. And regardless of what they failed to do, you also failed to follow the letter of the law. It's a mess. Get a lawyer.

You can partially cross out some bank details. The affidavits are used mostly if you are short on evidence in other areas, they won't slow you down. When you apply for ROC you get a letter extending your greencard one year, bring that on your trip with the expired green card.

My issue is simply this - none of us WANT to be apart from our loved ones so why are people here on visitors visas more special than other couples? AOS is simply not necessary for these couples. Go back to your country and process a fiance/e or spousal visa.
If it really is just about being a courtesy for the USC, then let any spouse of a USC just come here on a VWP or visitor visa and then adjust their status. Why keep those couples apart just because other couples are lucky enough to come from VWP countries, or were able to get visitor visas? It's just not fair to other couples.
Yes I'm sure there are lots of couples who actually plan it. We'll never really know the real figure because no-one will ADMIT immigration fraud.
There are people saying "what if I miss the birth of my child?" well other people DO. Why are you more special? because you were able to get a visitor/student/work visa or come on the VWP? "what if I can't visit?" well other people can't either.
The playing field needs to be leveled. It's legal to "change your mind" of course, I'm not disputing that some people have done it "legally" but it should no longer be legal just to change your mind. Go back to your country and process a visa like everyone else or let everyone else in a relationship with a USC just come visit and AOS.

It is a loophole that needs to be closed. Just cause you had unprotected sex that resulted in pregnancy does not mean you woild have died if you had to go back home. Thousands of people miss the birth of their kids. It is sad but not detrimental

I brought my wife to US absolutely legal way on K1. I am getting increasingly annoyed with cases that I see here saying: "Oh, I came here on VWP to see my boyfriend and all of a sudden decided to get married and stay here". I know that my statement can be controversial but I WILL state this: This is a lie! There is no way someone is coming across the world here, for example from UK or Russia for 1 month, with all their stuff in their countries, active apartment lease, jobs, family members, without any prior preparation and deciding "all of a sudden" to stay! I state again: this is a lie. 99% of cases. USCIS should stop considering those cases! These people should be removed from US and banned forever. Because of people like that legitimate couples have to wait longer. Would like to hear your opinions. Especially, I would like to hear the ones that came here on VWP, stayed, and will have decency to tell me here that in fact that was spare of the moment..

So it's Obama's fault the post office lost your petition? Lolz. He's only one out of a long line of recent presidents who have supported gutting spending on federal agencies, like the post office and USCIS. Are you even sure it got lost? What information has USPS given you?
If it is in fact gone forever then YES you should cancel or put a stop payment on your money order and send a new packet. This is why the guides say to make a complete copy of the petition packet in case something like this happens.
Chill out and try again. Chances are this is not going to be the last time this immigration process frustrates you.

What country is it that costs you more than $3000 for a one way ticket, because JFK to Denmark cost me about $400 one way.
