No RFE's at all through both our K-1 and AOS process. AOS ended up taking just under 3 months for us from date sent in to green card received in the mail.

You are incorrect on many points, if they have married in the 90 days and submit their paperwork they only need a I-485. They can stay as long as they like as they have followed the terms of the visa.

I keep getting email notifications of new topics posted in the UK board. I went to notification options and I don't seem to have anything checked that would mean I would get email notifications for these new topics.
Almost all of the notification checked mark boxes are greyed out and I can't click on them at all to uncheck.
    Any ideas?

Usually keeping the passport is a good sign. Sometimes they say AP but they just mean there is something that has to happen before you get your visa (like them going through your documents). AP is a specific thing for background checks, etc. but it can also be used as a catchall term which it seems the case here.

Remember, you are only hearing one part of the story. People could be being played by their partner and not know, or they have a scam marriage and don't want to admit it or didn't handle the interview as eloquently as they claimed.
I would bet at least half of the denials you hear about on here have a huge part of the story undisclosed.

Actually as of yesterday all petitions which do not meet the financial requirements but meet all other requirements are being put on hold. You will need at least 18,000 pounds in UK income.

If it expires in 2 years it is conditional. If it expires in 10 it is not.

Do they definitely want the ID or are they just looking for more general proof of relationship? If you get it now it will show that you got the ID just for the RFE when they are looking for information previous to you applying for ROC.

There's also a chance that I will get hit by a bus today.
If you were trying to sell me your bus accident insurance, how much of a danger would you emphasize to me to get me to buy?
In much the same way, your lawyer played up the danger to get you to buy.

This is wrong. There is nothing fraudulent about visiting the US on a tourist visa for the purposes of tourism whilst being married to a USC who happens to live in the USA. The fraud is when you enter the US on a tourist visa with the intent to illegally stay in the USA (i.e. having immigrant intent). The OP is not intending to immigrate yet - simply visit until they are ready to live together in the USA, upon which, they will file the correct petition for spousal visa.
He would not get a 10 year ban at POE. Worst case, he is turned around at the border and put back on the plane.
