  1. I'll tell you one thing... We did Jaycel's name change to her married name on the I-485 and I-765 forms in the AOS package and we got approval for her I-765 last Wednesday and we got her new SSN in her married name in the mail yesterday. They beat USCIS in producing the EAD card even! LOL It's all so random
  2. So glad you guys are close to the end of this part of the journey!!
  3. Even if you could get another CFO session in Cebu (which I agree with @top_secret above would not be allowed) Jaycel did her CFO GCP there in Cebu and she said the counselor was very strict and grilled her pretty hard about our relationship. Someone else we know also went to Cebu and they made the American fiance get a FBI records check and as a result were delayed like 2 weeks getting the CFO certificate approved. I think the reputation of Cebu being more relaxed is no longer valid.
  4. Wow.... What a freaking ordeal. Glad you got the SSN at least!
  5. Thank you! Yes Jaycel has been studying the handbook from the DMV here and doing practice tests
  6. *** Update *** I-765 Case Status Changed yesterday to "Card Was Produced"! And of course right before that, even though we were at "Approval Case Decision was Rendered", the "My Progress" tab still said an estimated 7 months until case decision 😆🤪 We also received Jaycel's updated SS card in the mail yesterday so the SSA beat USCIS to card production on this round 🤣
  7. So happy that you are seeing light at the end of this very unfair process!
  8. Agreed... the new wording is terrible and oh so typically USCIS-tastic LOL
  9. Your answer is right here... "Do not use Form I-134 if the beneficiary you are agreeing to financially support must have Form I-864." The K-1 Beneficiary does not require the I-864 so you would still use the I-134
  10. The medical exam at St. Luke's in Manila is usually done over the course of 2 days and you need to complete it before the interview unless you want a 221g refusal and have to wait for the medical to be sent. It's highly recommended that you do it at least 1 week before the interview
  11. You should get a tracking number on the case status so you can know for sure. Ours just changed to “Card Was Produced” today and Jaycel’s SS Card arrived today 😁
  12. Just got our answer - Case status just changed to "Card Was Produced". Thanks to all who replied
  13. If you do contact NVC to get your case number, I highly recommend that in the request after asking for your case number, you give them your and your beneficiary's emails addresses and ask them to make sure that they are the ones they have on file. Sometimes they get lost in translation from the I-129F to the DoS system. I did this when I contacted NVC and after that, both Jaycel and I got every email from NVC and the Embassy from the K1-FTP to the Welcome Letter to the email with the tracking number for her passport delivery with no issue.
  14. Thank you for that timeline... The day after our approval, all Federal Government offices were closed due to former President Carter's funeral so I'm sure that's playing a part as well. Glad you're getting it today!
  15. Yes, your POE is Port of Entry and in most cases (unless there is Customs & Border Patrol pre-clearance in the foreign country) it is the first airport you land in US territory where you clear passport control and Customs.
  16. Here's an interesting tidbit... We did Jaycel's name change through the AOS applications and as a result we requested that USCIS share the info with the SSA and requested a replacement card to be sent on the I-765 and the I-485. According to USPS Informed Delivery, we are receiving Jaycel's new Social Security card in the mail today and her Case Status for the I-765 is still showing, "Approval Case Decision Rendered". 🤪
  17. I do not know the specifics of your embassy's procedures so I cannot answer these questions
  18. Even though the embassy processes it like an immigrant visa, you still apply with the DS-160. So you would do the immigrant visa, select the K1 but use the DS-160
  19. The K Visa is processed by the embassy as an immigrant visa because it is the only non-immigrant visa class that is allowed to have immigrant intent (by its very nature)
  20. No worries! These forms can be nerve-wracking When they say "You do not need to provide information on it." in the sense of answering Item 4.a. that is the yes or no question so you do not have to answer "yes" if it is not alcohol or drug related or if the fine was under $500
  21. The only reason that they would get an RFE for not providing court documents for those offenses is if they listed them on the petition. If you list them, you have to provide documentation. You do NOT have to list them. From the I-129F instructions for Item Number 4.a. Criminal Information: Unless a traffic incident was alcohol- or drug-related or involved a fine of $500 or more, you do not need to provide information on it.
  22. Jaycel's I-765 status changed to "Approval Case Decision Rendered" on January 8th, there is an approval notice in the documents tab and USPS Informed Delivery is showing the NOA2 arriving in the mail today. On the 11th her "Estimated time until your case decision" went from 7 months to 14 months 😂 Completely unreliable
  23. Ours is being handled by the NBC.... We've been approved since the 8th and no status change at all so far - Still says "Approval Case Decision Rendered"
  24. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for USCIS to produce and mail the EAD Card after the I-765 Application gets approved?
