    No Idea... We were both never married previously when Jaycel went for her K-1 Visa.

    There is no email for the online access code but you can go on "Ask-Emma" on uscis.gov and get a live agent and ask them to give you your online access code. Some will and some won't so keep trying if the first agent you get does not give it to you. It took us a couple of tries to get an agent to give it to us.

    Go to this website and put in your receipt number and it will show you the stats for your receipt block Yes thank you! We're very relieved... She was going stir-crazy. LOL

    This is fantastic news!! So happy for you guys If I can give one piece of advice, once she gets to the US, the 90 days is going to go by in a flash and you will be doing yourselves a favor if you start thinking about and planning for the Adjustment of Status process now so that you're not scrambling at the end of the 90 days to get the filing done. Best of luck to you guys and keep us posted on the CFO process and the journey to the US!+

    We are one of the couples that regret going the K-1 route now that we are doing the AOS process. I wish we had married when I was living with her in the Philippines and gone the CR-1 route. Oh well, hindsight and all

    I don't know specifics of the London Embassy and how much of a stickler they are, but if it were me and I had the Bank Statements, I would request the document from Bank of America and proceed with the interview as originally scheduled. I can't imagine them giving you a 221g refusal for that letter, but if they do then you have it in process and can give it to them in the 221g response. I think it wouldn't be more of a delay than rescheduling the interview. Then if they don't ask for it you're good to go! That's just my opinion.

    Yes and I forgot to mention that as long as your new, married name is some combination of the names on your marriage certificate then USCIS and SSA will process the name change for you via the AOS forms with no problems. The SS Card you get after the I-765 approval will still have the disclaimer "Valid for Employment Only with DHS Authorization" on it but it will be in your married name. The one you get after the I-485 approval will have that disclaimer removed.

    Fill in the married name you want to use in the 'Legal Name" part of the form. Then put your maiden name in the "Other Names Used" part. Then check the yes boxes in the SSA part of the forms and when each one is approved USCIS will notify SSA and they will ship you a new card in your married name. Jaycel's EAD was approved on January 8th and we had her new SS Card in the mail on the 16th with her married name on it.

    My wife is from Mindanao and we had her stay in Manila for the whole 3 week process when she did her K-1 Medical and Embassy Interview and wait to pick up her passport from LBC in MoA and that was not fun for her. She got pretty bored and was going a little stir crazy LOL

    I did a Web-Ex screen share and we did it together but at the end where they have to electronically sign the form - She logged in herself and signed the form. This is very important that she do it herself. She then "printed" the confirmation to a PDF file and emailed it to herself so she could take it to a print shop and print it to bring to the medical exam and the interview. You also need to fill in the part of the DS-160 that says you helped her fill it out with your information.

    We also filed at the Phoenix Lockbox and Jaycel got the I-765 approved in 51 days from the date of receipt. Pretty happy with that. Her EAD Card should arrive in the mail tomorrow if the tracking is accurate.

    The only authorized medical provider for Immigration Medical Exams in the Philippines is St. Luke's Medical Extension Clinic (SLEC). It's in Ermita, Manila - Very near the US Embassy. You register for an appointment online at this link: https://slec.ph/

    Nothing else for the name change - We are just waiting for the EAD card to come because we need that to get Jaycel's Learner Permit at the DMV and to change her name on our joint bank account. Yes! It was 51 days from application received to I-765 approval - We are so happy too and thank you! 🙏

    We put her new, married name as her "Legal Name" on the I-485 and I-765 and her maiden name under "Other Names Used". We then put her SSN in the section provided and checked the box saying we wanted the SSA to send a new card on both forms. Since we got approved for the I-765 on Jan 8, her name is now changed with the SSA and we got the new card with her married name in the mail yesterday. It still has the disclaimer "Valid for Employment Only with DHS Authorization" on it. Once they approve the I-485, they will send the replacement SS Card with that disclaimer removed.

    Just remember - You can't compare to others as each case is processed on its own. Jaycel gave herself a lot of unnecessary stress after her interview because her case took a couple of days longer to go to "Issued" after her interview than some friends she made there at the embassy. I know it's easy to say now that we are past that but try to put your mind at peace about it

    And just to clarify - When I said "Normal A/P" in my post above, ALL visas go through some form of A/P before approval. If they didn't give you a 221g slip or ask you for anything further, then it is the standard checks they do before printing and issuing the visa. This is different than the extended A/P that some folks get stuck in for weeks and months.

    Many times, during the normal A/P after the interview, the case will show as "Refused". And Montreal is a notoriously slow embassy for all visa processing. Also keep in mind that Jan 9th, all Federal Offices, including embassies, were closed in memoriam for President Carter's State Funeral, so I think you're still well within normal processing for Montreal. Hope it gets issued quickly for you!
