  1. You have to be inspected and admitted, paroled or waived through a Port of Entry by an immigration official in order to be eligible to adjust status
  2. Ok so if he is coming on a K-1 visa then you would NOT file the I-130. Once you're married he will file the I-485 to adjust status, the I-765 for the EAD and the I-131, Travel Auth (Advanced Parole - This is optional) For the SSN, I would suggest that you make an appointment at your local SSA office as soon as he arrives (appointments are taking 2-4 weeks to get on the schedule) and get his SSN as soon as you can after his arrival.
  3. And you will apply for his SSN via the I-485 AND I-765 forms. There is a section in both for you to do that.
  4. So I am assuming that once married you guys will file to adjust his status to LPR from here in the states? If that is the case, you will file the I-130, the I-485 and the I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization) all together in the same envelope. (Optionally the I-131 for Travel Authorization). This is called a concurrent filing and that will get USCIS started on adjudicating his employment auth while the I-130 & I-485 are pending as they normally take much longer.
  5. I think she will have to call them - There is no way to fix this through the website that I know of.
  6. Jaycel's My Progress Tab showed 3 months on the day of her biometrics appointment, the day after it went to 40 months, a week later it showed 6 months and a week after that it showed 7 months and was still showing 7 months 2 days later on the day it was approved You can safely ignore the estimates in the My Progress tab
  7. This is the key phrase... You are NOT required to submit an I-693 as your wife completed a medical exam abroad and she filed the I-485 within 1 year of that exam. She would NOT have been given a copy of the medical exam by the provider (It's not an I-693 as that is only for US Civil Surgeons completing the medical exam here. It would have been a DS-7794 or DS-2054). She should have been given a DS-3025 record of vaccinations though. I would see if you can reach out to the clinic that performed the exam to see if they can get you a copy. It's not strictly necessary for the interview as there should have been a copy in the medical report that the clinic gave her to hand to the embassy, which in turn your wife gave to CBP at her Port of Entry. That whole packet should have been sent to USCIS to be added to your wife's A-File. The only reason you would be given an RFE for the medical exam at the interview (if it was complete) is if the yellow packet didn't make it to your wife's A-File.

  9. It does not need to be signed. See the section below from the I-129F instructions. I suggest you both study the instructions for the form carefully. My negligence in reading them thoroughly caused us to get an RFE for the I-129F and likely caused a delay in approval. How long that delay was, we will never know. The full instructions can be found here: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-129finstr.pdf Become an A+ student of them. (And the instructions for the forms and processes that you will need after the approval). Here is the relevant section: 5. Photographs You must submit one color passport-style photograph of yourself and one color passport-style photograph of the beneficiary taken within 30 days of filing this petition. The photos must have a white to off-white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched. The color passport-style photos must be 2 by 2 inches. The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1 to 1 3/8 inches from top of hair to bottom of chin, and eye height is between 1 1/8 to 1 3/8 inches from bottom of photo. Your head must be bare unless you are wearing headwear as required by a religious denomination of which you are a member. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and A-Number (if any) on the back of the photo.

  11. So happy for you guys!! 🎉🎊 Woo Hoo!! That's awesome!! 🎉🎉
  12. If neither your wife or daughter are in removal proceedings, neither have a criminal record or charges pending and they return in the 3 months that you indicated, IMHO the risks are very low. I also agree with @Crazy Cat with these Social Media lawyers fear mongering. Admittedly, I am biased against immigration attorneys. I have seen 3 different lawyers royally screw up 3 friend’s cases. So take my rant about them with that knowledge in hand.

  14. As far as I'm aware, for K-1 visas all embassies are still doing the physical envelopes. None of the K-1 documentation for entry has gone digital yet like the IR-1/CR-1
  15. Congrats!! 🎉🎉 So glad they finally accepted it for you!

  17. It won't cause delays at the medical, they will just administer the vaccines again that you have no proof of getting
