  1. Yes I used Turbo Tax also and my return was approved and the Tax Return Transcript showed up on the IRS website about 15 days later.
  2. We paid by personal checks - 1 for the I-485 and 1 for the I-765. (You should absolutely pay them separately) If you use money orders, then for the I-485 you would use 2. One for $1,000 and one for $440. Make sure you note in the memo section on each one that it is for the I-485 (I would write "Form I-485 - M.O. #1" and "Form I-485 - M.O. #2") and yes you include a G-1145 for each form you are filing
  3. Do you plan on E-Filing? If so, the IRS accepts the return pretty quickly
  4. Yes start fresh with the current edition of the forms
  5. Today's stats: November 2024 Filed I-485 Stats • Approved: 169 • Denied: 85 • FingerprintScheduled: 361 • InterviewCancelled: 3 • InterviewScheduled: 116 • Processing: 38,022 • Received: 845 • Rejected: 110 • RFE: 2,357 • Terminated: 95 • Others: 97
  6. Does your wife have an online account with my.uscis.gov ? If so she should be able to file the I-765 online.
  7. They took Jaycel's entire yellow packet and gave nothing back to her except her passport with the entry stamp on it. CBP then sends that packet to USCIS to put in your A-File.
  8. I wouold also imagine they'll have her SS Card in the mail soon... They just got the I-765 approval
  9. I imagine they gave them the maximum allowed time. They do that with most RFEs.
  10. Yes this 👆👆 But make sure you put the cover letter UNDER the RFE letter. That should always be on top of your package and like @MalloryCat said, put the applicant's name, the case receipt number and also the applicant's A-Number (if you know it) and the RFE reference number on the cover letter.
  11. If your case status in CEAC says “Ready”, you do NOT need to wait for a welcome letter to schedule your interview in Manila for a K-1. They are hot or miss in sending them out.
  12. So sorry... here is the NVC Contact Form Link https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html
  13. Usually when they request additional evidence, they give you 1 year to respond to the request before the case is considered abandoned
  14. So here is my advice that I give everyone regarding the NVC and K-1 visas. Once NVC sends your case to the embassy, they will send the K1-FTP letter by email to the email addresses they have on file from the I-129F petition. This will contain your case number. Sometimes, the email addresses get messed up on conversion from the I-129F to the NVC Case. This is what I would do if I was you... 1. In about 2 weeks, if you have not heard from the NVC, use the public inquiry form at the link below to request your case number. In the text of your inquiry, notify them that your I-129F was approved and sent to NVC and that you would like to get your case number so that you can start to prepare for your embassy process. Then add in the text of that inquiry that you would like to update both the petitioner and beneficiary's email addresses and and then list your email addresses. Make sure you attach a scan of your I-129F NOA2 to the inquiry. Now most likely this first request will get a reply that "they have received your case from USCIS but have not entered it into their system yet, but they have updated your email addresses as requested". That's OK! The real purpose of this first inquiry is to have them make sure that they have your correct email addresses. 2. Then you can follow up with them every 10-14 days after that to see if they have a case number assigned to you yet. Word of warning - Most embassies will not let you schedule your interview until the case shows "Ready" in CEAC. And you do not want to schedule your medical farther out than a week or two before your interview because the validity date for the visa, once issued, is 6 months from the date of the medical, not from the date of the visa issuance. P.S. - This is what Jaycel and I did and as a result we were well prepared for the embassy phase.
  15. That form, G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance, does only what the title of it says. It E-Notifies you of the Application Acceptance. You will not receive any other E-Notifications regarding your case after the one you get saying your petition was accepted. How long has it been since the case was sent to NVC?
  16. To me this RFE is stating that you need evidence of the Joint Sponsor's status, and the part about the petitioning sponsor says that they couldn't determine that they meet the 125% of the poverty level, which is why you got a joint sponsor I'm assuming. I believe that once you send in the evidence of the Joint Sponsor's Status, it will make the point about the Petitioning Sponsor moot since the Joint Sponsor will then be fully qualified. (Assuming that their income is sufficiently above the 125% of Poverty Guidelines for the properly assessed household size).
  17. December and January each have over 3K RFEs active at the moment! Yeah it makes you wonder how they got approved so quickly 🤪
  18. So thanks to @OldUser for the idea I am going to periodically update this thread with the stats I can find for November AOS Filers. Here is the inaugural report! (Be advised that the info below is how many applications are in the listed status as of the time I pulled the data) November 2024 Filed I-485 Stats • Approved: 163 • Denied: 85 • FingerprintScheduled: 369 • InterviewCancelled: 3 • InterviewScheduled: 115 • Processing: 37,949 • Received: 849 • Rejected: 110 • RFE: 2,424 • Terminated: 95 • Others: 98
  19. Thanks for this idea... I'm gonna do the same for AOS filers for November!
  20. Timelines have been all over the place lately. Could take anywhere from 2-10 weeks. You can contact the lockbox after 30 days from the date the application was received to inquire.
  21. Yes hahaha they typed that response as I was writing mine
  22. I wish I could like this post 100 times.... Get the copies of everything they sent on your behalf, remove them from the case as @OldUser recommended and find a reputable lawyer that does nothing other than Immigration Law and specifically family based immigration law. The fact that your lawyer doesn't know that USCIS issues the 48 month extension letter for EVERY I-751 filer and then tries to make up some garbage about children born to the marriage and name changes, rather than do a 30 second Google search, is frankly one of the most blatant signs of legal incompetence I've seen since starting my research for the immigration process 2 years ago. When you find a new, reputable lawyer, have them check over all the submission copies you get from the old one to be sure they didn't screw it up
