    It seems like you are still within normal processing times- however, the fact your case has not even been actively reviewed at least once is concerning. I think I read on this forum once about someone who reached out directly to the Department of State and the White House- with good results. Hope you get some answers soon...

    File online. It is nearly impossible to make these mistakes when you do, because the system will not receive with blank areas.

    This is me, I overthink everything too! I 2nd the positive encouragement to the OP. I have not been through the entire process myself, but I am petitioning from a developing country that has a reputation. I had a friend whose husband ended up in 5 months of admin processing at the embassy, and still got the visa. This is one of those things where if you have a genuine relationship there is no reason to worry! 🙂

    Because their job is to serve the public, for a variety of reasons. Should I be contacting them 9 months into my process? No. 3 years later with no answers? Absolutely! Not to override security checks, but some people are being treated according to the law during this process.

    I would not recommend transferring careers into something you do not enjoy doing. This will only aggravate you more. Find something you are passionate about. It seems that you have the perfect setup, able to live with your family, but pride is getting in the way. I know when my husband and I arrive, we will not have the luxury to live with family long-term. It will be more of a short time, waiting for an apartment or house to be approved and lights turned on. I suggest you enjoy this freedom for now, and he needs to stop worrying about the kitchen.

    I have to agree with the previous commenter. This ultimatum should have been your out. The dating period is to see whether or not someone is a good fit.

    December filer here...Not many people get approved before the one year mark. MOST of us wait many months. Not as many people are being approved as you may think.

    Filing online allows you to add additional evidence. It is taking around 13 months for I130's to be approved, so in that time you can be uploading more evidence.

    Thanks for confirming this with the OP. Someone was spreading misinformation and arguing with me. Hence the reason the admin removed the comments.

    Correct K-1s are for fiancees.

    You start with the I130 which leads you to getting the Cr1 or Ir1 visa. Cr1 is for couples that have been married less than 2 years. After the I130 is approved is when you apply for the Cr1 or Ir1.

    A question regarding vaccines- My husband received the vaccines listed for immigration as a baby. He is not sure if his mother has any record of the vaccines, and they are probably impossible to obtain in his home country. Does immigration accept tilter tests to verify immunity?

    Although I took the vaccine myself to continue teaching internationally, I am not a huge fan. I am hoping they take it off the vaccine list for immigration. Not sure why it is still a requirement. I have heard of people actually getting COVID the actual virus and having these same side effects.

    Write a Will with her as the beneficiary, include travel documents such as boarding passes, reservations, etc. Sometimes you have to think creatively! Also sometimes people get RFE's because they need a marriage certificate submitted in a different form, something they do not realize is an issue when submitting paperwork. Some of these RFE's are coming from high fraud countries and USCIS is really trying to comb through evidence of marriage.

    Yes it is normal. I am 47 and have only been called 3 times since turning 18 and the third time I could not do it because I was here out of the US. You will get a call eventually, and whether you actually serve on a jury depends on what type of case you get called for.

    Do you know if the folio for marriage is needed for the I130? Or just during the NVC stage?

    ??? Actually this is your choice to your child behind. Like others said, the Visa should be in your hands before making arrangements. Don't blame anyone else for your child being left behind.
