    @smilingstone Did you see that tool? It clearly shows Abu Dhabi is more than three years behind, most probably because of a lack of visas. For Islamabad, it is Sep. 24. After posting this question, I thought I would need residency in that country; a visitor visa will not do the trick. Islamabad may be the best option. @JeanneAdil Thank you for the suggestion and great idea. We already have a police report; that was done last December (Dec 2024). Does anyone know what the requirements are to transfer, other than we lost our job and are no longer residents?

    My wife's DQ was completed on Dec 12, 2024, and she is waiting for an interview. I looked up the wait time; they are interviewing folks who were DQ'd in November of 2022. Tokyo is in May of 2025. Here is the tool: IV Scheduling Status Tool Is this for real? Nov-22 from UAE and Japan May -25? Should we transfer to Tokyo?

    My wife, who lives and works in Dubai, is waiting for an interview. Our DQ was on 12/11/2024. She also applied for a visitor's visa to Canada. She's asking, what if she gets a visa to Canada? Can she move her case (CR1) to Canada? Would that be any faster route? I'm trying to convince her to stay put and wait, especially with what is happening in the USA with the new administration. What are everyone's thoughts on this?

    Thank you for your feedback, Pushbrk. I understand that I'm petitioning for my spouse, but I believe that I had to pick which embassy to send the paperwork to. My wife will be in Dubai; she has a visa valid for another two years and has worked there for the last two.

    I married my spouse in Pakistan, she is citizen of Pakistan but has worked in Dubai for 2 years, we met in Dubai. Can I apply for her from Dubai? I'm US citizen.
