Again this if false and untrue,  Please stop posting false information on this forum

How many have you filed a K1 and did it cause a red flag? I am thinking your answer will be I have never file 2 or more K1's, this is what I think

I can tell you from reality it caused no red flags and maybe could possibly  speed up the process since the petitioner has already been vetted by USCIS once.  Nothing mentioned at Embassy Interview regarding past K1's applications, only about a 3 minute interview consisting of maybe 7 questions and boom you are approved.

Hire a lawyer for a B2? Really? It's a form you fill out online, Lawyer can't do anything for you at the US Embassy for a Tourist Visa,  This isn't like the Philippines where a lawyer and some money can make things happens

Have him apply and see what happens, I would say the odds are highly stacked against him, but it only cost like $160 to get the answer and trip to Manila either by plane, bus or ship or roro, or a combo of all them.

USA doesn't do sponsorship for Tourist visa like many countries do.

Your best bet it to book your trip like on Delta Air to go see him, if you need to cancel or change it's easy and you will get full credit on your Delta Wallet to be used for up to 2 years.  PAL may offer the same, but I don't use them since they only fly to a select few cities in California and New York City only.

I would say about 100% of the people posting on here for K1 the other person lives outside of the USA

There is no need for a US Citizen to get a visa for another US Citizen to marry.

No need to beliitle someone, we are here to help them and furnish them with information that will help them.  Just remember immigration isn't something we are taught in school, we have sites like this to help us learn and gain information. I am sure most if not all of us were lost when we started our visa journey.

No doubt it isn't allowed, Did I ever say it was allowed?  Nope never did, don't know why in the world you are even copy and pasting my post.

The OP had already said like 12 hours ago she was aware it was illegal to come to USA on B1/B2 with intent to adjust, Did you not read that from her post?

It was something like this :  Crazy Cat Said : You cannot enter the US as a visitor with the intent to stay and adjust status.  That would be visa fraud.  Be prepared to show proof of your strong ties to home country.

OP  demonjonis  answered : Yes I'm aware of this. I was just making note of the fact that I've recently come across some people doing this, when their original intent was to go and just visit as normal and go home to finish the process but for whatever reason, they have switched to AOS. I know intent is determined at the borders by an officer so just wasn't sure if switching was even allowed at all.

I have a few under my belt

Thankfully I was young when they happened and we never really had  that much to split like money or vehicles.

I am in community property state and learned how to protect my assets now that I am older and wiser.

Not really, I have seen marriage partners where the the other person drained thier bank account and put them into debt with credit cards. It was cheaper to bite the bullet and divorce them.

He is in a community property state like I am. It's very easy to protect your assets

He was only married 2 years, so have your bank accounts where you keep the majority of your money in a seperate bank account from your spouse, have them established before marriage and don't comingle funds and your money is safe and can't be considered community property.

I had a house, vehicles and boats all in my name before marriage, went thru a divorce after a few years and all that was considered seperate property since it was all owned before marriage.

I came out smelling like a rose

Now with my current wife we only established one bank account together and we opened it like the week she arrived and I think I put $1000 when it was opened and never messed it it again, we only did it for K1 for immigration purpose only so she could get her Greencard.

I went ahead and bought a new house before I did my K1 visa this time so it will be mine in case we didn't work out, My wife is from Philippines I wasn't sure how she would adjust to USA when she first got here and I wanted to protect all my assets.

    1. 125 percent of current poverty limit for a single person household is about $1500/month. If that’s too much money to pay, one cannot afford to file I-130. Any beneficiary that tries to subsist on $1500 a month is not going to survive in this country. She will need to go to work. Each gross dollar of her non I-864 income  knocks a dollar off the contracted I-864 support.

    2. If the I-864 issue is brought up by  in divorce court, the feds have ruled that they have no jurisdiction to order financial support beyond that ordered by  state court:

    https://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/rod/docs/pdf/6/2012/2012-ohio-2088.pdf

    To summarize the above:

    1. Petitioner got ahead of the issue in divorce court and noted the I-864 that the petitioner signed.

    2. Petitioner made the argument that because the married couple had a combined 40 SS credits during the marriage, the I-864 contract ended.

    3. State courts ultimately upheld that argument.

    4. Beneficiary did not like it, so tried to do an end run through federal court.

    5. Federal court said heck no: the federal  court has  no jurisdiction on divorce cases.

I’m curiously how many contributors to this thread have been divorced.

Really? That seems rather silly and lots of work. I am sure banks see thousand of transactions per day over 10K.

That can't be a true. Maybe a cash transaction over 10K but not any transaction over 10k.

I would make sure you well healed before going to Philippines.  I have spent some time in Philippines hospital and you put your life in jeopardy once you enter their medical system, lack of proper equipment, poorly trained doctors, etc makes it risky

If you need major medical done in Philippines there is a good chance you won't survive the procedure over there.
