    Only employment based IV's still get an envelope. On her visa it should say 'IV Docs in CCD', which means they've been sent electronically.

    Was it definitely an immigrant visa? Not a K1? If so I think it was just coincidence, as it’s NVC that schedules the interviews for IV’s.

    Oh, sorry, I misread. Your time to DQ had nothing to do with the consulate though, that’s done by NVC.

    Pakistan has a very long wait for interviews anyway, it's a couple of years I think - so you may not need to delay anything.

    If you were a citizen at birth, he didn't need to apply for anything for you (other than a passport if you wanted one).     As I said above, that's just details of the documents IF they are required. You need to look at the following very carefully and make sure you have everything on these lists.     I'm sorry but I'm still not seeing where it says that to get a Romanian police cert you need a Romanian ID card??

    OK, so is there a reason you think you need a Romanian ID? I'm not seeing it on the website requirements.

    Have you been given a checklist for your interview? If so, what does that say? The country specific guidelines are only to tell you exactly what document is needed IF it's required - but they're not all required.

    I know you're in Canada, that isn't relevant. Plenty of people have to get police certificates from multiple jurisdictions, as per the table given above. Don't waste time, just start gathering the documents required as per the checklist. Good luck.

    Right, what we're trying to determine is if you are already a US citizen (and have been since birth). When has he lived in the US and for how long?

    Being over 18 has no relevance if you were a US citizen at birth. So did your father meet the requirements when you were born?

    She can do that but should spend more time in the US than in Colombia - if she's suspected of not living in the US (as a permanent resident she's supposed to be - as the name implies - resident there) then she may run in to issues. If her being able to work and grow the business is a priority, then it may be worth looking at the spousal visa instead of the K1. With K1 she'll have quite a long time before she can work (even remotely) or leave the US.

    Illegal immigrants can't vote or become citizens without going through a very lengthy process, same as anybody else. Got a link to that thread? I suspect he's misunderstood something.

    Which consulate? For London there's no queue for immigrant visas, only NIV's - if you have an IV appointment you go to the head of the line and tell them, and they let you straight in. But I assume other consulates have different systems.

    Probably not many with such a small country, but that may mean there's also not much of a wait - fingers crossed for you, hope you are reunited with your sister/brother soon.

    Ok so your PD is current, now as the email says it's just a case of waiting for an interview to be set. I've no idea how long the wait is in T&T, other consulates can be as quick as 3 months to get an IL, or as long as 2 years +. If you search the forum for other cases at the same consulate it should give you some idea of the wait there. Good luck.

    Yes, you would. As @Damian P says the US is unusual when it comes to healthcare. A couple of Canadian provinces make you wait 3 months before you’re then covered (for free), but that’s the only wait I can think of.

    The consulate specific checklist is in addition to the standard NVC one, and that says you must take original or certified copies of all docs uploaded to CEAC. So if you uploaded your fiancés birth cert on CEAC to be DQ’ed, you should also take it to the interview - but a certified copy will suffice.
