allllllsksm reacted to Cody LA in London CR1 / IR1 Appointment Updates
Had my CR1 interview today and got approved!! SO happy and relived. I've been stressing so much about the interview, but it really was stress-free and the officers were super friendly. I will post a full review later today as I found reading others really helpful.
For anyone that have their interviews coming soon, do not worry.. You will be fine, it's not as scary as we imagine!

Hehehehe a lawyer filed I-485 for your spouse who hasn't even stepped in US yet? Additionally, having filed an I-130, he doesn't need to file I-485 upon landing.
My advise: Fire that lawyer today. But before you do, make sure you gather all your documents from him and do AR-11 to change address to yours IF he had the USCIS correspondences going to his address.
Next, it takes 1.5 to 2 years, 1.5 if you're lucky, from filing to interview. So do not bother USCIS with unnecessary inquiries. You cannot jump the queue.
Fire that attorney ASAP. He just proved he doesn't know anything about immigration. People here on VJ did or are undergoing the process by themselves. If you have questions, post and you'll be guided, free of charge.

You can try the Emma chat to get a live agent and ask them about the service center.
Sorry, nobody here can predict that, it’s different for everyone. You can find processing times on USCIS.gov and also see immigration timelines here on Vj.
Wow, the incompetence of some attorneys is just mind boggling. He just made you throw 1300$ in the wind for absolutely nothing. Why do you need to apply for that at all if your spouse will become a green card holder the second he enters the US on his spousal visa?

allllllsksm reacted to Daphne . in ESTA To AOS Potential Problem?
Even though there are more red flags in this case than I can count, I can’t help but think that she will probably get away with it and you are able to provide her with the grand prize she was after. At this point, I am not even sure if/when USCIS even looks into these cases.
Maybe it’s the heat, but I am starting to lose my faith that these (pretty obvious) cases of immigration fraud actually get noticed.. It just gets me down.. So many of us here had to jump through all the hoops and be patient in order to do this right, while others just play the system and get away with it.
I have no advice for you, you seem to be very aware of what is happening and no matter what we would tell you here, you will most likely continue with the process, so what do you want us to say really? Our remarks/questions will be answered with a “Yes, but…”, so we are not adding any real value here. Nobody here wil help you to justify what is happening..

They want a paragraph in medical terms about anything that applies to you. Such as—
Laud has been treated for hypertension since January of 2019. He takes Amlodipine 5mg twice daily to manage it. His average blood pressure with medication is 125/75 and is well managed.
Laud suffered from mild anxiety in September 2015 when his was made redundant at his job. I prescribed [name and dosage of med] which he took for 6 months. He has had no anxiety incidents since. He was never a threat to himself or others.

Anything to do with depression or mental health needs the magic words Not a threat to himself or others to please the visa clinic. The phrasing can also be Never a threat…. or No longer a threat… depending on the situation.

I'm a CR-1 visa, so hopefully quickly.
I know another poster talked about how the Embassy was maybe prioritizing student visa's before the beginning of the school year. Hope, since college has largely started, that this was the case and they'll pick up other visa categories again.
