  1. You can also look into the Johnson and Johnson (Janssen) shot--it's a single dose, so you can avoid the return time.
  2. My husband got his passport in the mail Tuesday afternoon. We are all set for him to fly out on Thursday early afternoon! We got notice of his passport being shipped on Monday... which said a Monday delivery date, and got very excited. It didn't show any shipping history though, so I refrained from purchasing an updated ticket for Tuesday morning until after it arrived (it would have saved a day of travel and three days earlier arrival). Since we got it Tuesday afternoon instead, logistics don't work for a sooner flight anymore, so we'll just stick with the Thursday travel as it's already bought and paid for. Here's to luck for anyone else still waiting for their passports!
  3. What is this website that you can track the status of your visa for shipping? the NVC Webite where we submitted the pre-embassy forms?
  4. Alright, awesome. Hopefully our timeline is the same!
  5. That is, as the other (recent) reports all have similar timelines. It eases my worry a bit. You're picking up from the Embassy directly?
  6. Congratulations! You must have been there the same time as my husband. Ironic!
  7. My husband just finished his interview--he got approved!! He now is concerned that our flight, scheduled for next Thursday, is too soon. I am planning on waiting until Tuesday to see if his passport gets mailed out by then before I much with the plane tickets.
  8. You should be fine, unless he commits some sort of crime between now and then. The police reports are good for a while, and once you get the Visa they're believed to be still valid. If he gets into an issue when he arrives state side, it would be US criminal system and not the UK that's applicable.
  9. Husband got his medical appointment done this morning. He had to get a few shots, and we wish we had gotten the flu shot at the medical appointment instead of before at a pharmacy, since it hasn't shown in his record yet so he'll have to ping his clinic to send the data and who knows how much that feet dragging will do. Thankfully his appointment isn't until the 20th, so there is a few days between to get it.
  10. Possibly just hit the right timing. Their interview is still roughly 2 months from being DQ, like most of the people posting.
  11. Congrats to everyone who got their interview today! I wonder if the date (last day of the month) was done instead of the 1st, since the 1st is a Saturday.
  12. My husband and I have already transferred the cash. We got 1.132 as the exchange rate, so right as it started to dip but not by much. I did the reverse calculations when it was about 1.08--if we sent the money back, we'd get an extra £200. But we didn't want to play with it, so we just kept it in $.
  13. Does anyone have experience as to which is the faster return? Like, I know hub pick ups can be faster since they don't have to be further sorted and dispatched and delivered, but that's the US so IDK if it's much different in the UK.
  14. So I talked with my husband, and we decided to go with Wise since it had the best overall rates. He had to call his bank to allow the transfer, since it was a larger sum, and so did it during his lunch while I was asleep (timezone difference). I woke up to a transfer from OFX. He was very proud of himself for saving us £8 in fees, and was oblivious to the £50 loss in final total due to the worse exchange rate. *sigh* At least it wasn't a bank, which probably would have been loss of a couple hundred £.
