  1. I just had my mom take a picture of me and my wife had her son do it. I used the photo tool @DAYEE28 mentioned and cropped both picture and uploaded them.
  2. You said in your original posting tat you met in Dubai... Here you say you have never met in person... Which is it, have you met in person or not?
  3. @pushbrk I am reading instructions but it doesn't always click with me 100% and that is why I was stating the above to make sure I understood it correctly. Thank you as always for your help.
  4. I should get an email in the next few days which would be my NOA1 showing they received it? Then a year(ish) from now I will get my NOA2 which is when they have approved it? Once I receive NOA2 then that would be the time to start the next set of paperwork? Just trying to make sure I am understanding this.
  5. So I submitted my I-130 and paid the fee on 9/28. It shows received but I didn't get a welcome email, only a receipt for my payment. I go to the CEAC and it doesn't recognize my case so I can't pay the fee for the affidavit of support and if I am reading this all correct I would fill out and send it in after I pay the fee? Is that correct? @pushbrk So all I do now is wait for them to proceed then? They will tell me when to move to the I-864? And yes I will download and read.
  6. Title says it all... When do I start the I-864? Do they tell you when to do it or do I just do it now? Can this be filed online as well, I can't seem to find it online only in PDF form?
  7. Assuming you took your honeymoon after you married because why would you call it a honeymoon if you weren't married. Did you marry online through Utah or another state? As long as you were married virtually and then met after you are in the clear. I uploaded the electronic marriage cert and also scans of the original marriage cert from Utah just to cover all bases. What specific paperwork are you worried about? If your wife is a US Citizen then she should be processing your immigration paperwork.
  8. I just finished filing mine and for evidence I gave them a bunch of pictures, flight itinerary, flight tickets, hotel and air B&B receipts, and chat logs from messenger. With my chat logs I downloaded them from Facebook and then copied a day here and a day there (15 files in total for 6 months) and pasted just the text into word and saved them as PDF's. As far as joint accounts and such I haven't done any of that, nor have I changed my beneficiary for my life insurance or retirement plan yet. If you read the info given under evidence proof there is a spot that explains the letters from relative and friends and exactly what needs to be on them to qualify. IMO online is the best option.
  9. Ok so I made a small oops. On my wife's marriages I misspelled the last name by 1 letter, Defour instead of Dufour. Is there a way to correct that or do I just hope they notice it and correct it on their own or I guess they could send us an RFE for it. Is there anything I can do?
  10. My wife and I just got married and I just left her in the Philippines. I filed the I-130 tonight. Is there any chance of getting her a tourist/visitors Visa to come here prior to us finishing our immigration process? She has a son who we will bring along in a couple of years, along with family so she has ties to go back. Plus she has a small baking business. Any thoughts or do they just frown upon this because they think they won't go back? Thanks
  11. Is that a good thing or bad thing I am going to be filling joint taxes this year? Do I somehow have to figure out how much she make with her little cake business that she barely makes any money with?
  12. I'm just going to throw this out there even though you have said it won't work for you. The Utah online wedding is simple. You get a license, set a date within 32 days of getting the license, you both get on the zoom call at that date and time (you can be in separate countries as long as you can get on the zoom call), the officiant they provide marries youb in minutes (took us all of 15 minutes from start to finish), and in about 10 minutes you get the electronic marriage certificate and in a week you get the paper copy. I'm the eyes of the United States you are now husband and wife. Fly to wherever you can both meet up and "consummate" the marriage (take lots of pictures). Fly back to the USA and file for the spousal visa. I don't know what the laws in Japan are about marriage but none of that applies in a US wedding. I married a Filipina and we have to report the marriage to the Philippines government only so she can legally change her name there. We just got married on 9/14. Hope this
  13. On the I-130 there is a place in the evidence that asks to show Proof of legal name change. We did the Utah Online Wedding the other day and there isn't anything in the marriage certificate that specifically states her name is changing. Also since we did the Utah wedding so we have to process the ROM before she can legally change her name in the Philippines. Once the ROM is done she is free to change her name in accordance to Philippine law with the fathers last name as her middle and take my last name. The simple question is do we need to show anything else beside the marriage cert to show Proof of legal name change? I am guessing I just add the marriage cert to this section as well.
  14. My wife's passport is expired currently. We just got married 2 days ago and need to submit the ROM to the Philippines Consulate and have it accepted before she can do the name change. Do we need to renew it with her maiden name prior for any reason or can we wait until after the ROM and get it renewed with her married name? Also when she gets her visa she will still have a Philippines passport because will only become a permanent resident and not be issued a US passport correct?
  15. We did the zoom wedding yesterday. It was really quick and efficient.
  16. The instruction seem to indicate you need to have the normal go to the drug store and get passport photos for the I-130. When filling the online application it talks about using their photo tool on travel.state.gov to crop your photos correctly which makes it sound like you can take your own. "If you need help understanding the photo requirements or want to resize, rotate, or crop your photo, you can use to the Department of State's photo composition tools." The online instructions talk about "Also, include an image of the back of the photograph with your name and A-Number written in pen or pencil." If I am able to take my own photos and upload them I wouldn't be printing them out to write on the back of the photo... Is there a point in which we will have to give them actual physical passport photos? Can I actually just take a picture of myself and use the crop tool and upload? If so do I need to print them out and print my name with no A-number because we don't have one of those? Thanks for the help
  17. I don't have AAA but I just turned 50 and I got AARP...LOL
  18. Windows are tinted so I am covered there... It was her husbands car before but the registration is in the original owners name. They do some really weird thing where you register it in the original owners name but then have to have all of the bills of sales with the registration. Final bill of sale is on the new owner so I guess I am covered there too. I would of course help to fix the car if it was my fault and their TPL Liability coverage will cover the other car.
  19. So I am traveling to the Philippine in a couple weeks. My Fiance sold her vehicle to a friend who has graciously agreed to allow us to use the vehicle while I am there (I did help pay the registration of the car). As far as I can tell they only have liability insurance on the car as that is what is required. I want to get a temporary policy for the car during my visit so if something were to happen I would be covered and not on the hook to pay for damages. Driving there is so much more chaotic than here in the US. So anyone have an idea on how to go about getting a comprehensive insurance plan on this vehicle for the time I will be there?
  20. Everyone learns differently. I don't learn as well by reading and I learn best when I am shown. I am sorry if my questions are irritating you.
  21. I was in 2019, but then unemployed from 3/20 to 9/21 due to COVID and a medical procedure. I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary to my current employer and about to get a raise as well as I am moving up in the company.
  22. So I would file an I-130 for him as well and pay a separate fee is that correct?
  23. If I have to give them my taxes for the last 3 years to qualify do I need to make above the poverty level on all 3 years. If we are talking gross income I'm fine for 2019 but 2020 & 2021 are a bit scetchy because of COVID. I make well over that level now but how will they assess all of that?
  24. When adding a child of 15 to the mix here do I need a special form for that? I entered his information in the online I-130 but do I need to do another form for him like the I-130A I am doing for her? He will need to go through all the medical and bio-metrics my spouse will as well correct?
