  1. How does one go about getting a police certificate from a country? @arken
  2. She had a job in Malaysia for 2 years from 2013-2015. Do I need to put that job in this location?
  3. @pushbrkSo I should be putting her married name on the petition even though her maiden name will be on her passport?
  4. @pushbrkdo they need to be certified copies or just a copy of the certified one?
  5. @AnnamaeRobertthat is probably why it didn't take as long as normal.
  6. We are doing the Utah wedding while I am there as I will not have time to do the PH wedding. I did have a way to get it done there in the time but I didn't like the fact I was circumventing the rules. Employment: Does this look good @pushbrk I will remove myself from the preparer section.
  7. Do I need to print out the I-130A and sign it as the preparer? It states she does not need to sign since she is overseas.
  8. @Crazy CatI thought that the service centers were geographical... since I live in Idaho mine would go to California. But you are saying that is not the case...OK.
  9. @Rubbertoe32Where are you in the states (service center used) and did you expedite? She is from the Philippines?
  10. So if she is unable to fully support herself and her son and I have to step in as her husband (after we get married and I file) and that causes me a financial hardship that still doesn't work for an expedite? Yes I make enough to not have a sponsor in case someone is wondering that.
  11. Will be when I file the petition and then the expedite request if that is possible with the scenario I stated.
  12. Well she will be my wife in a month... currently she is my fiance. When I file the petition she will obviously be my wife and why I was talking as she is my wife for the expedite reason. Sorry about that. So financial burden wouldn't cause grounds for an expedited petition? --> "Severe financial loss to a company or person" Also could go under humanitarian "extreme living conditions"(financial) but that would be a stretch I think.
  13. I am preparing the I-130 as much as I can ahead of time... Can I prepare the I-130A for my fiance who is in the Philippines? Do I need to list myself as the preparer? Employment Status - My fiance has not had a regular job since 2015 when she returned from a 2 year commitment in Malaysia. She was with her second husband in 2016, married in 2017, and then widowed in the beginning of 2022. She has a small cake business that is not registered that she makes ends meet with barely. What would be the best way to show this on the I-130A? Do I need to show it at all? If I don't show she has an income could I use that as a way to expedite our petition once I file? Even if I do show her income it is very little. Something to the effect of she is now my wife and in helping her to keep her household there afloat and my own is causing financial stress that would be eased with an expedited petition so we are under one household. As always thank you all for your help. I hope to return the favor in the future once I understand this better.
  14. This may seem like a really stupid question but when filling out the I-130 do I use my spouses maiden or new married name?
  15. I am flying to the Philippines to visit and marry (via Utah) my fiance next month. What physical documentation do I need to leave with her to take to her interview later on down the road? Birth Cert, Divorce decrees, ect. I want to bring them with me so I don't have to mail them later. Thanks in advance for any info.
  16. There are worries about costs as well. My fiance wants to come here first and get us established a bit before we bring him over. Get her working and then get us a bigger place to accommodate her son as I currently live in a 1 bedroom apartment. Her and I are getting married next month and I will start the process to bring her here. I would guesstimate he will come about 2 years after her, sooner if we can. I suppose if I process them at the same time it will increase the costs adding him on correct? My fiance said something about this and that is why I am trying to get some more info. If you have any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer. Thanks again for the help.
  17. I am a month out from getting married to my Filipina bride and starting the process. I was wondering if those that have started the spousal visa process in the past 6-12 months how your progress is going? Thanks for any info.
  18. I was adopted at 12 by my stepdad. Other than a SS card I never had any other documents in that name. The addition is sealed and my BC states my stepdad as my father and has my new name (middle and last were changed). Do I need to disclose my name change? If so do I need to provide documents? @Familysaw you in another topic and you seen to have a good grasp on the subject.
  19. What is the time frame for a visa coming from the Philippines to the US? Are we talking 30 days, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year?
  20. If I process to bring my wife and her child to the US, when everything is approved does her child have to come right away with her or can he come at a later date? He is 15 and wants to finish his schooling in the Philippines and we would like to get settled before bringing him to the US.
  21. You can get an annulment in the Philippines which allows both parties to then marry again if so desired.
  22. Why is it I can't sign up for the OneHealthPass until 72 hours before I fly?
  23. @suss6052 So since I am fully vaccinated and boosted once I DO NOT need to have a pre-departure negative COVID test as I read it above... Is that correct?
  24. I don't think most western guys are looking to get divorced or catting around. I do get your point as to there being an option to divorce in the US where there isn't in PH. PH does have options to separate from a spouse so you can marry again though. Both parties have to agree to it from my understanding.
