To clarify 2012 you married in Brazil 2014 you enter the US …how? A visitor visa? 2017 you get LPR/green card 2018 you divorce and re marry…( the one year of separation is throwing me off….as it looks like you were separated when you got LPR….or day after) 2019 you apply for N-400 ? How Why You did NOT qualify under 3 year rule due to divorce and did not have 5 years. -
If you don’t succeed w SS office in getting a SS card on the spot , you can still open ( or get added to ) a bank account. Just show 2 forms of identification ( passport and another like DL from your country) , tell the bank to treat you as Non Resident , , then update them when you get your work permit and SS https://www.chase.com/personal/banking/education/basics/us-bank-account-for-non-residents

Until the payment method identifies shooter as actual $15 payee, I won’t rush to judgement. At the time of donation, kid was a junior in high school and would have had to have a bank account or access to a credit card . There are a few others by the same name ( across the nation ) according to the white pages . Unofficial sources say, mom was a Democrat and dad a,Libertarian …while young Thomas . a Republican. Someone in the home displayed trump/MAGA lawn signs according to neighbors….so a Divided House indeed.
-
Yes, the Democrat Party is very divided. Btw, the reason for registering as a Republican in 2022 was already theorized with a valid reason I ended up here mid thread ( involuntarily …feel like a long tailed cat in a roomful of rocking chairs}😂… so I am sure I missed the ‘theorizing” of why a registered republican who voted in 2022 is not a republican..?’

FBI investigators spent Monday morning speaking with people inside the Bethel Park home of Thomas Crooks, the man authorities say tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump. Investigators later spoke with neighbors, trying to learn what may have motivated Crooks. Records show Crooks donated $15 to a pro-Democratic Party political action committee in January 2021. But months later, records show he registered to vote as a Republican. Neighbors said they saw pro-Trump signs in the Crooks' yard as recently as several months ago. “There absolutely was MAGA-supporting signs for a while,” Little said. https://www.wtae.com/article/thomas-crooks-fbi-investigation-trump-shooting/61603194

Ain’t it, though…… Donald Trump boasted Saturday that support for his presidential campaign would not decline even if he shot someone in the middle of a crowded street. “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters,” Trump said at a campaign rally here. https://www.cnn.com/2016/01/23/politics/donald-trump-shoot-somebody-support/index.html

On a serious note , gun violence and the shooting are not condoned . On the lighter side , immunity /impunity arguments : Trump team argues assassination of rivals is covered by presidential immunity. Former President Trump's legal team suggested Tuesday that even a president directing SEAL Team Six to kill a political opponent would be an action barred from prosecution given a former executive's broad immunity to criminal prosecution.Jan 9, 2024 https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4398223-trump-team-argues-assassination-of-rivals-is-covered-by-presidential-immunity/mlite/?nxs-test=mlite

No one wants to land on the wrong side of a gun barrel…context in important , as you say. "Can't you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something?" Trump allegedly asked about the demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd, according to the forthcoming memoir by former Defense Secretary Mark Esper. https://www.axios.com/2022/05/02/trump-call-violence-presidency

Who could forget the ominous It’s going to be a Bloodbath… After eight years of violent rhetoric , MAGA blames others: The only mass political violence in America had been January 6, stoked by Trump, other Republicans, and Fox News. Most of the aggressive rhetoric in this country has come from the same crowd. At a time when circumspection and restraint are needed the most, the choric chant that the problem rests with others — meaning the Democrats — was as galling as it was predictable. Underlining this instant politicization were a man and a woman at the Trump rally in Butler, PA, flipping their middle fingers at CNN’s camera within seconds of the shooting. The current frenzy is all based, it should be underlined, on the act of a single individual — a registered Republican. Somehow, this is now to be used to tar and intimidate all Americans who legitimately and thoughtfully question Trump and his motives. And, just as predictably, one Fox talking head said that this is what happens in a country with “godlessness” — without anyone mentioning that this could not happen in a country with “gunlessness,” since Trump and his allies are thrilled that practically anyone can obtain a murder weapon and unlimited ammunition. (Some perspective on hate, violence, and guns: From 1990 to the present, according to official statistics, far-right extremists have killed more than 520 people — while far-left extremists have killed 78 people. For more data, go here, here, here.) And, while decrying division in the country and calling for toning things down, the Fox folks continuously referred to Trump as “President Trump” or “the President,” as in “the President is fine,” yet I heard a “newsperson” referring to the actual president simply as “Biden.” In other words, at Fox they are working to create more division and animosity, still stoking the stolen-election lie, and setting the stage for more discord and potential violence. I doubt we will hear much candor on the irony of all this. We will see plenty of “The Photo”: the blood-streaked face of the brave, wounded, defiant victim-hero. Fox and its Republican allies will successfully milk this for all it is worth, their base will in their own minds decide that the Democrats are somehow to blame, and the major media and Democrats will have no idea how to combat this nonsense. All this will almost certainly redound to Trump’s advantage at a time when everything is already cutting his way. That’s where we are with less than four months until the presidential election. To tweak a Trumpian favorite: GOD HELP AMERICA. https://whowhatwhy.org/politics/after-8-years-of-violent-rhetoric-maga-media-blames-dems-for-trump-shooting/

Yes and No. ‘I relied on legal counsel “ will NOT absolve an applicant of ANY misrep, under ANY circumstances as it relates to USCIS/DOS. OP s case, we all “know” he was advised by his attorney to make a claim of INTENT TO RE ESTABLISH Domicile….or that attorney took his $$ for nothing. The consensus of responses on the thread are pretty spot on . .
-
True that. However, OP s actions /statements do not constitute fraud….just confusion. Though, I am guessing , I will presume wife’s 1st green card was a 2 yr conditional and they missed filing I-751 …otherwise she could have easily entered when pandemic restrictions lifted and filed the I-131. I certainly would have recommended the visitor B-2 ( even if it took 5 attempts ) , considering he has no immediate plans to actually live in the US. …but can’t fault the new attorney for wanting to make bank

Shooter was indeed a registered Republican with a passion for guns… Seems his one time $15 donation was two weeks post Jan 6 , the progressive group he donated to, apparently vocal critics of trump’s failed coup. Radicalized Lone wolf incel , most likely, like the young man who set himself on fire 🔥 at trumps New York trial.

Elon Musk’s X deceives users and breaches online content rules, EU says KEY POINTS The European Commission’s preliminary view, published Friday, is that X has broken rules regarding dark patterns, advertising transparency and data access for researchers. If the commission’s views are confirmed, X could face a fine of up to 6% of its global annual revenue. It comes as the EU clamps down hard on tech giants like Google and Meta. The European Commission on Friday accused Elon Musk’s X of deceiving users and infringing digital content rules, putting the social media giant at risk of a hefty fine. The commission, which is the European Union’s executive arm, started an investigation last year to assess whether X is in breach of the Digital Services Act (DSA) — a piece of landscape legislation requiring Big Tech firms to better police the content on their platforms. The body’s preliminary view, published Friday, is that X has broken rules regarding dark patterns, advertising transparency and data access for researchers. So-called dark patterns are deceptive tactics designed to push people toward certain products and services. X’s use of the blue checkmark for verified accounts does not correspond to industry practices, the commission said, as anyone can subscribe and obtain a verified status. It added that there was evidence of “motivated malicious actors” abusing the verified status to deceive users. The commission also accused X of putting in place design features and barriers that hinder advertising transparency, and said it fails to allow researchers to access its public data, as is required by the DSA. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/07/12/elon-musks-x-deceives-users-and-breaches-eu-online-content-rules-regulator-says.html

AT&T account customers : What’s at risk Hackers did not get any names, addresses or Social Security numbers. What they did get is metadata — call logs that contain a record of every number AT&T customers called or texted (including customers of other wireless networks), the number of times they interacted and the call duration. A cybercriminal could now identify relationships among phone numbers, a useful data point for hackers trying to make their scams more believable. For example, a hacker could see that a customer is in constant contact with a big bank’s line and could send a phishing attempt posing as the bank. The hacker could text the customer saying, “This is Bank of America. We have some suspicious activity on your account. Click this link to review the charges, or call this number,” said John Dwyer, director of security research at Binary Defense, a cybersecurity solutions firm. Or the hacker could pose as someone the customer has a personal relationship with, like a friend or family member. The age of artificial intelligence makes this even more pressing, according to Collin Walke, cybersecurity and data privacy partner at Hall Estill. “Once they know who you’ve been communicating with, it allows deep fakes and those sorts of hacks to occur much easier,” Walke said. https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/12/business/att-customers-data-breach-protection/index.html

I realize they neutralized the shooter….but security described by eye witnesses sounds more like keystone cops than eagle eyed secret service What we know about the suspected Trump rally shooter The Secret Service said one rally attendee was killed and two were critically injured. The agency said the shooter fired from “an elevated position outside the rally venue.” Law enforcement recovered an AR-style rifle at the scene, according to a person familiar with the matter. The person was not authorized to discuss details of the investigation. A video posted to social media and geolocated by the AP shows the body of a person wearing gray camouflage lying motionless on the roof of a building at AGR International Inc., a manufacturing plant just north of the Butler Farm Show grounds where Trump’s rally was held. The roof where the person lay was less than 150 meters (164 yards) from where Trump was speaking, a distance from which a decent marksman could reasonably hit a human-sized target. For reference, 150 meters is the distance at which U.S. Army recruits must hit a scaled human-sized silhouette to qualify with the M-16 rifle. Witnesses told media outlets they saw the suspected shooter on a roof outside the rally. Easton Smith, who was outside of the security perimeter at the rally, said he saw a man climbing up the roof of a nearby building. “Didn’t know what he was doing, trying to alert cops and police there was a guy crawling on the roof,” Smith said. “Then we saw a rifle slinged over his shoulder. After that, a couple shots fired off.” A witness named Greg Smith told BBC News the suspected shooter had crawled on top of the building located just outside the event. He said he pointed the gunman out to police. “I’m thinking to myself ‘Why is Trump still speaking, why have they not pulled him off the stage’… the next thing you know, five shots ring out.” Smith was listening from outside the rally and said he saw the gunman around five minutes into Trump’s speech. “We noticed the guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us, 50ft away,” he said. “He had a rifle, we could clearly see a rifle. “We’re pointing at him, the police are down there running around on the ground, we’re like ‘Hey man, there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle’… and the police did not know what was going on.” https://www.newsnationnow.com/politics/2024-election/what-we-know-about-the-suspected-trump-rally-shooter/
