Thankful for @Xiaova and others for running the numbers.
But, really USCIS???? Not one approval????
I don't blame the one who withdrew their case. We were soooo close to that until we got our RFE two weeks ago. Frustrating to know that after 16 months, we got RFE... but in a way, happy to know that at least they looked at our case. Now we sent and received our RFE docs, another waiting game. This whole ordeal is going on 17 months now.

I guess it had to be manually approved. I just seem to be impatient. We have the interview date for September 07, and got an extension. Everything is going well! I cant believe I will get to see my fiancé so soon now!! Thanks for everyone's help!

hey guys, after being over two weeks on IN TRANSIT, I emailed the embassy, asking them whether they have received my case.... the next day I got an email from the embassy, stating that appointment is ready end everything was ready..... so if your case is IN TRANSIT for awhile, you as a US citizen dont hesitate to email the embassy, and attach a copy of the letter from NVC, and let them know that you are waiting anxiously... It worked for me

Finally got approved today after 434 days (no RFE)! Honestly, we are happy, but more in exhausted shock than anything else. I’m tentatively happy for us (we know there are still a few more hurdles to go and this long separation has been mentally hard and will take some time to recover from). I will keep running the chart and hoping to see everyone else moving past this stage as well!

Finally after 15 months!! Tomorrow I leave for Buenos Aires, I am going to attend the interview on the 28th. I know every Embassy is different, so not sure how I will be treated, if anyone out there has been through the process I would appreciate a little insight.
I think we are prepared, I have all the original documents, the original application, the approval letter, the NVC confirmation, the DS-160 barcode. I have my I-134 support form with documentation of income and assets, and a file with proof of relationship that is almost overbearing!! Including photos and letters from friends during the 6 months we spent together in Mexico!!! I think ours is a slam dunk, but nothing is ever guaranteed! I hope they can issue the visa without too much delay, it is winter time in Argentina and we want to enjoy together what is left of the summer here in the Midwest!!!!!
Here goes nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It mostly said they are now sending the application to our embassy and gave us our case number.
it said this word for word:
“Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition.
Next steps:
Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview.”
these were the only steps provided!

Our case got to the embassy in Paris and we are devastated to hear it could be another 4 months or so until we get an interview.
anyone else dealing with longer embassy times? to be honest I wasn’t mentally ready for another wait and I’m crushed

I’ve had this argument before with one of the admins. I 100% trust the spreadsheets and the app because it’s reflective of the dismal processing times that they have been denying for months. The admins in that group seem to think that “processing times are increasing because more filers” but that’s not the whole story. Something happened at USCIS back in October 2021 and its just now starting to be addressed.
Our group and a few others (March and may) have suffered the most and it took almost 5 months just to get through March and start April. Clearly something was wrong. Also, my approval of NOA2 showed up in the app the same day as I got the official email from USCIS. I fully trust the hard work our group has done to keep track of the numbers in the spreadsheets. I guess the admins in the FB groups are just out of date

It took my case an entire month to reach and be processed at NVC. My approval was April 7th but NVC didnt get it until May 5th, my case # was recieved on May 11th.
Last I heard, theres no welcome letter for k1 applicants. I never got one, we (petitioner) only recieved an email stating our case was in transit, and I the beneficiary, got an in person letter stating my case was in transit which was May 24.
I think they only reach out with your information unprompted under two circumstances
1. Your case is being held at NVC due to backlog and it has hit 60 days.
2. Your case is in transit

Melissa Guajardo reacted to keickhoff in APRIL 2022 K1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
My opinion is don’t rely on NVC for any updates. I sent an inquiry about our case on April 26th, two days ago June 14th I received an email answer to that inquiry, stating that they had forwarded my case to the embassy. In the meantime, we had already heard from the embassy and scheduled our appointment for June 28. We were fortunate enough that we received our case number before they quit answering the phones.
I think it is absolutely ridiculous that NVC wont take phone calls, after waiting a year from NOA 1 to 2 with no communication, I thought finally there would be an avenue to keep informed about our case, turned out not to be true.
I don’t know how they are going to solve this, I just know they should not treat their citizens trying to do things the proper way through immigration completely in the dark through the entire process.

I am just as confused too 🤦🏻♀️ from what I have been reading we will be receiving an email once the case is sent over to our fiancé overseas but in the mean time people have been left in the dark (30-45 days) with no way to communicate with NVC due to them not taking our calls. I have been trying to find the dates NVC is processing but I haven’t found any information on that.

I have been having that too, been waiting since April 27. I have no clue what's going on with my case and I'm at my wits end. I've sent the NVC an inquiry on the 23rd of May but have heard nothing. I think cause the consulate was closed so many months might be where the delay is. This is absolutely ridiculous. :(

Just an added tip once you hit the states and BEFORE you marry and BEFORE your I-94 expires I would suggest that the beneficiary apply for their SSN. A lot of SA offices are closed to regular foot traffic, but appointments can be made at some offices others not, it depends on your state. I still strongly suggest you actively research where your office is located and actively apply for your SSN.
Of course it will be in the beneficiary's maiden name, but that can be changed much later on down the road. It's the SSN that you want. Trust me saves a lot of heartache later. There are threads here on VJ to show you how and help you apply, just use the search function of VJ! Congrats to all the recent approvals.
