Rafagus got a reaction from OldUser in Is the I-751 required as part of the "K-1 >>> Citizen" Process? (Ask stupid questions; Win stupid prizes)
We also had K-1 Visa, and were required to submit the I-751.
If you have a 2 year green card you will need to submit the I-751. You will not be able to naturalize until the 751 is approved.

Yup they really put a dent in it the past few weeks, going at approx 400+ a week, still about 20,000 pending though but at this rate that'll clear reasonably soon!

and in some cases, after making people wait for years, then USCIS sends an RFE to prove that the marriage is still going on.
In our case having to prove the relationship for the fiance visa, with the first interview at the embassy, preparing hundreds of pages of evidence for the 485 nerve-wracking interview, countless of sleepless nights, thousands of dollars spent, hundred of pages more of evidence for the 751, and 2 years later, still no definitive answer.
at this point not sure if applying for the N400 is better than keeping on waiting.

Rafagus got a reaction from OldUser in Remove Conditions after Naturalization
The only weird thing is that if you have a conditional green card, and the green card is about to expire, then you don't have the required three years of LPR status (if you're married to a US citizen) to be able to naturalize.
I would think she had a 10 year green card and USCIS made a mistake.
