Is anybody here from California? I'm looking for someone who previously requested a California record clearance from DOJ?
How long does it take to receive the California record clearance to your mailing address after submitting the fingerprints? Is it less than 30 days?
Im trying to coordinate my embassy interview schedule. Thank you!

Hello,
I DQ'd on 5 Apr 23 and my expedite request was approved on 18 Apr 23. My case has changed to ready status and was sent to US Embassy Manila. I haven't received any emails from the Embassy, although the NVC email says Embassy will contact me to schedule appointment. My question is do I schedule the appointment myself? Thanks for any assistance!
If you don't mind me asking what was the reason for the expedite request? Thank you

They also seem to have started denying almost any expedite request. Even legitimate ones.
Yup, we are DQ'd on February 24 and still nothing. We've sent 2 expedite requests already with mountain of evidences and proofs but it got denied.
I am with another forum and it seems like they are going between 4-5 months before getting an interview letter. I really hope they'll do something soon.

Obviously what you've done is completely no problem but from what I understand it is optional.
Did you do it to prove your sponsors income?
I just wanted to know so I can understand the process and I guess others in the future could learn from this.
Good work on the DQ!
The reason why I submitted 3 years tax return is because I thought it would help and wouldn't hurt anything. My husbands income for the last 3 years met the income requirement so I thought it would be perfectly fine.

Should I be uploading additional documents? haha
I just did the required plus pay stubs, what am I missingI've read from other forums that they go by the "required documents" date, and for me I think it's true but that's just me.
my attorney only submitted 1 year tax transcript for 2021, so I went ahead and submitted 2020 and 2019 tax transcript and w-2
as far as uploading additional documents I'm planning on uploading our 2022 taxes and 3 most recent paystub when I go for the interview.

Thank you for your insight. And I agree, you'll never know how it's going to unfold. But I'm thinking of doing the expedite for the interview as soon as I get DQ'ed. My 2 year anniversary will be on April 2023, and I'm hoping everything goes well for me, and I'll just make sure to enter the US after my anniversary date🙏
I got DQ today!!!
-So my attorney submitted the required and optional documents Feb 7,2023
- I uploaded additional supporting documents myself Feb 10,2023. I thought they would go with Feb 10th because that's the last date I submitted the additional documentation but apparently they go by the "required documents".
- total days waiting: 17 days
Now I'll request for an expedited interview for Manila Embassy. I will share with you guys how it goes!

In that post the authors wife got flagged for additional TB testing at her physical which in the Philippines automatically adds about another 3 month before they can interview. That is a longstanding risk in the Philippines. The poster who started that thread was one of those who received an expedite in January that they had not requested and did not want since they are nearing 2nd anniversary and want to be IR1 and get a 10 year green card.
Other recent strangeness at US Embassy Manila is people receiving e-mails from the Embassy instructing them to self schedule on https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ yet finding their case is not available there yet, and conversely people not receiving any e-mail or instructions yet finding that they ARE able to successfully self schedule on https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ . There's allot of randomness at US Embassy Manila lately.
Thank you for your insight. And I agree, you'll never know how it's going to unfold. But I'm thinking of doing the expedite for the interview as soon as I get DQ'ed. Elsewhere I saw a case reported DQ earlier today with a February 5 submission date. That would imply that theoretically the 2/7 crowd could make it before the weekend.
For DQ question:
Does it matter which country the file is from? Or is it general like NVC will just follow the queue regardless of the country origin?
Top secret, I have another question:
I'm from the Philippines and im wondering how long after getting DQ'ed will the nvc send me an interview date letter and how far out is the actual interview date? I'm trying to coordinate everything and see if I have to prepare an expedite request or not. I really wanna have an idea with the timeline as far as Cr1/IR1 interview goes. I greatly appreciate your input. Thank you!

CR1 went DQ on Feb 6 2023. How long is the typical wait time for interview in Manila these days?
Thank you!Hi! I'm also a CR1 recipient, can you please let me know how long did it take you to get DQ'ed after you uploaded and submitted all the documentations on the Ceac website? I just want to have an idea since I submitted everything last February 10th. Really appreciate it. Thank you!

Hi lurker and new member here. Any update of a manila embassy interview? Do you mind what your case was to apply for the 601a waiver?
Hi Luckygal! I'm still waiting for the i601A approval, but luckily Mintchocolate is ahead of us with the process. She should be able to provide us with the latest update on the Manila embassy processing.

So he was approved today and they didn't gave him a hard time. The questions they only asked were:
Name of petitioner?
How and when did you guys meet?
When and where did you got married?
How many kids?
When and why did you overstay?
They took a while to check the i-601a waiver if it's real. Once they saw it's real, that's when they said "Congratulations, you're approved." I took the earliest appointment time (06:30am) and he was able to finish at 08:30am.
Yaaaaay! Congratulations to you and your husband! 🎉🎈

There is a lot of things to work on it there but is definitely not an immigration issue.
IMO you need to learn more about her an maybe communicate better.
Did you ever moved to another country before? Is a biiig and overwhelming situation that each person deal in a different way.
When I moved to here I was soooo depressed that my only scape was speaking with my friends on my phone because my husband was out all day. If you don’t take the time to speak with her to try to understand instead of just complaining I don’t think that you will find the solution alone.
Oh yeah I couldn't agree more. As an immigrant the feeling of loneliness is so depressing when I got here in the us. Because I was so lonely I developed eating disorder and I literally tried to kill myself twice because I was so depressed. I have problems with my husband, adjusting to the food, culture, language and everything and it was soooo overwhelming. Looking back I'm glad I overcame that lonely phase. It will take time to adjust here and it would be super helpful to have an understanding and supportive partner!

I'm 41 and she's 27. Neither of us have been married previously, but she has two young children who believe I'm their real dad. We are very attracted to each other. She's currently 6 weeks pregnant.
She's a bit immature in my opinion. I currently work full time while she stays at home. Many times, she spends all day on her phone or watching TV rather than helping with household chores. I come home from work frequently to the house messy. Food from breakfast and lunch and dirty dishes all over the place. Sometimes she will do laundry and then leave the clean clothes in the basket for days staying wrinkled.
We seem to argue a ton about money. I am a very frugal person and this immigration process and the wedding cost me a ton of money. I'm still young and trying to save for retirement, keep a budget and provide for my family at the same time. Her idea is that I provide even if I have to take out loans to buy things she thinks we need but are more wants than anything else.
Anyhow, yesterday we took the kids to their biometric appointment as part of the AOS process. Afterwards we were going to take the kids to the local zoo. On the way, as I was driving through busy afternoon traffic, she was teasing me and pulled on my face and nose covering my eyes so I couldn't see the road. I nearly caused an accident because of it and got upset. So I hit her in the shoulder to get her attention. I don't think I hit her very hard, but according to her it caused bruising.
We got to the zoo and she was obviously upset and crying. I tried to get her to talk, but she just pushed me away and told me she wasn't going with us. She ended up staying with the car while I took the two kids. We came back two hours later and she's vanished. She wouldn't answer phone calls, or messages for hours. I had no idea where she, so we just waited and waited. She responded to messages, but it's vague responses not to worry about her, that I don't care about her and that she doesn't love me anymore. She says she's with friends. Yet, I wasn't sure and didn't want to leave her.
So we ended up waiting 9 hours and she never shows up. So I end up driving an hour back home with the kids and no wife and no answers really as to where she is.
Today she messages me while I am at work and asks me to bring the kids back to where we were the previous day. She's obviously still upset by the way she's responding and very vague answers. I drove the kids an hour back and we wait almost 90 min for her to show with a Filipina friend that I don't know. Anyway, my wife is not making any visual contact. Keeps her back to me the entire time I am helping the kids into their car seats and handing over some clothing to her friend.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do at this point. I'm upset because my kids are gone and they are upset that daddy is gone. They were pulled out of school a week before their last day. The youngest is supposed to graduate kindergarten on Tuesday. I have all their stuff at the house. Clothes, toys, identification including passports. With my wife being pregnant, she has upcoming prenatal appointments to be to and I'm concerned about her and the kids getting the care they need. Especially now that she has no money, nor insurance information on her.
Is this just some silly tampo fit and she will realize the predicament she's put herself and the kids in?
I'm filipina and I'm married to a white guy. I would say a lot of it is culture difference, sometimes I get super annoyed with my husband or vice versa but it's just that we were brought up differently. But given your situation I think it's something that you guys really need to talk about. Marriage is definitely alot of work but it needs two to tango. Goodluck!

Yes, fingerprints were taken in July 2021. I’m hoping for an approval by next spring but at this rate unsure if that’s possible.
If the pace stays the same then you should be expecting an approval next year April 2023-August 2023. It's from the receipt date.
Let's hope they can catch up with the backlogs, I hope it will get better and shorter.

Hi Daniel, I am also applying for i601A.
Did you have your fingerprints taken at the biometrics appointment already? If Yes, then the next step is to wait for the approval. The current time frame for Nebraska service center is 26 months but I have seen some took around 24-28 months give or take.
Since covid happened everything was super backlogged especially the 601A waivers and every cycle it keeps going backwards. But you know what all we can do is to be patient, our time will come one day.

Hi, were you able to get your waiver? My husband will be interviewed in Manila in June and we have this waiver too. It's kinda nerve-wracking to let him go home.
Hello, I'm still currently waiting to get my i-601A waiver approved. I submitted it last October 2021 and it's still a long way before it gets approved. I am hoping I'll get mine approved within 36 month mark but it could be longer because USCIS is extending it out every cycle 😢 But regardless the way I think about it is that my turn will come one day and all I can do is to be patient.
Current timelines I'm seeing based on other applicants approvals are:
- Nebraska: 26-30 months
- Potomac: 35-39 months
It's nice to know that we're from the same country. I honestly don't know what to expect during the interview as I don't know anyone other than me doing this i-601A waiver from the Philippines. But per feedback from other countries like Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador it's not that bad. You just have to make sure you do your ds 260, do your medical/vaccinations before the interview date, attend the interview (make sure you bring all the original approval letters, proofs and docs), get approved, and wait for you passport. But I assume you've already completed these steps since your husband will have his interview next month June.
My question to you though is what's your husband's timeline? Date of 1-601a submitted? Date it was approved? How many months after the I-601A approval did you get the interview in the Manila embassy? I would really appreciate it. Thanks

That my wife should be grateful that without her, she would not be born and living in the USA if not for her.
My widowed mother-in-law dos not work due to health reasons. She is in her mid sixties. Her other daughter living in the USA is buying the house she is living in. She also said she has to stretch the $700 remittance to make it last all month.
I am interested in to hear thoughts from other Filipinas living in the USA or outside the Philippines on this subject matter.
Thank you.
Im a filipina and married to a white guy. Before I married my husband I told him what he's getting into in terms of the culture part supporting my family. At the same time, I told my parents and family I'm ONLY gonna help them if I'm able, if it's within our means, and after we pay our own bills. I think there should be a balance because we can never get rid of that culture of paying our family and parents back. But at the same time the family should not be demanding. And if necessary, I will make things right by telling my parents it's too much and I don't want to support them anymore because they're being so ungrateful and demanding. So that being said it's really up to you and your wife, for me $700 per month is A LOT! To give you an idea a regular job will make you around $200-$300 per month depending on which location in the Philippines, and if you work in the government which we view it as "the stable job" then you get around $400-600 per month.
I bought my family a car and give them money here and there so I probably spent around $500-$1000 per month but that's because me and my husband's work is better now.
But 4 years ago we only sent them around $100-$200 a month because we struggled financially.
For me if my parent/s is that toxic and demanding? I'm sorry I probably won't cut her off but instead of her $700 demand per month I'll probably send her $100 a month. I don't know it's just me. I love my family and parents so much but there's a fine line between RESPECT and TOXIC BEHAVIOR.

As of this date:- For the Nebraska office, they're barely approving January 2020, it's around 24-27 months.

I'm pretty sure you will hear the great news in about 1-3 months from now!

Is your case already DQ-ed at NVC? If not, the current timeframe for NVC review after submission of required documents is around 3 months. You can check the published timeframe here -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html
My case was DQ-ed in June 2021. 3 weeks after my DQ date, NVC sent my interview schedule. No expedite. I had to re-schedule due to being tagged for sputum testing. After I cleared my medical exam, my new interview schedule was sent after 3 weeks again in Oct 2021, by USEM.
Thank you so much for the info! I was worried because in other countries like Mexico it takes 2 or more years for them to get an interview for CR-1, and I thought it would be the same in the Philippines because both countries are high volume applications. But this info is very reassuring to know!
-
I just wanna know what's the current timeline for the IR1 interview in Manila? Also, what's the wait time after you submit everything to the NVC before getting an actual interview date? I heard some other country takes a long time, like 2 years or more, before getting an interview because of covid backlog. Thanks!

Did you mean 1 year and six months after having done the biometrics right?
No, the total wait them is from the receipt date on your i601A. Unfortunately, from the other support group that im with, the current wait time for Nebraska is around 22-26 months, and Potomac is way longer which is around 33-36 months. Plus if you're from Mexico, from the time you get your case closed with NVC is 2 years of waiting to get an interview at the embassy

Hi everyone I’m hearing about the waiver on interviews over seas or inside the Us anyone know if this is applicable for the 601A too?
I hope this is for us too 🤞🏼
I haven't any interview waivers for i-601A. All of the people who got approved on the Fb support group had to go to their home country and take the interview. The current date of approval for Nebraska is around 22-26 months, meanwhile in Potomac is 32-36 months they're reviewing May 2019 receipts.
POLICE CLEARANCE - California USA
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
Posted
I'm doing 601-a waiver. Because of my situation I can't adjust status here in the US, so I need to go to my home country for consular processing and I think they need a police clearance here from where I currently live in California. I better be ready and over prepared for my interview.
