  1. I came to the Philippines and did everything by the book to come back to the states with receipts, photos, diamond ring etc. Got home, made a $250 appointment with an attorney that only does such paperwork for fiancee or spouse. He took my money and in less than 10 minutes told me it's faster for spouse, to come back here, get married and then apply. That's where we are now.
  2. Manila Prince. Excellent breakfast buffet included, wonderful staff, clean large rooms. Elevators are fast.
  3. I had no issues there and I ate some questionable food items but stayed away from drinking public sources water. If you're going to drink from a public water system buy a filter. From experience, there can be higher levels of lead in the water, at least in Davao City.
  4. I purchased my policy through AAA here in the U.S.A. because I'm a member. Easy and fast and coverage documents sent to my email. Policy was for three months and had higher coverage amounts than required by far. For me, relatively inexpensive coverage cost.
  5. Just a note to all, I've lived in the orient before. I knew what to expect. I would have never sought a wife in the Philippines without doing a lot of research over the past several years. She is a province gal but resides in the city. I understand 95% of the customs. I know my ability to live and stay in the Philippines is contingent upon my finances and being on good behavior. You'll find me/us in church or a nice little restaurant. She is a tough negotiator on price of good at wet markets and such. There are some that would take advantage of me and some that resent my presence. I understand that.
  6. You folks know how to lose an "OP" in a hurry. I seek simple and concise responses please.
  7. I'm at least more up to date than some on here. I was in Davao City when Sara Duterte won the Vice Presidential office. I'll read comments on here but I'll go my own way, and Mary my fiancee and live in the Philippines. Another prediction from me is that I think Sara will be the President eventually.
  8. As compared to what ? Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles?
  9. I'll undoubtedly live near Davao City and the Duterte clan and is the PRA only located in Manila ? The investment part does not bother me.
  10. Well, last night I made the decision to apply for the SRRV in early 2023 and just move there and marry her then decide what fits the best for us. Yes, I understand the costs and burdens of proof for me. Thanks. Keep em coming.
  11. I think that for me and is the SRRV will be there best choice, then get married in the Philippines and work on a spouse Visa to come back here to VISIT the USA but not take up residence here again, it's just too expensive here too live retired,
  12. Awesome information. I'm all ears here in the backwoods of Tennessee.
  13. Also, you folks know more about this than I do so pardon my questions. When I came the first time, they required proof of a round trip ticket. How do you do that knowing you're going to apply for extensions of your Visa ? Obviously I wouldn't want to do the 44 hour flight back to the US just to satisfy the leaving and coming back requirements. I'm very thankful for any assistance y'all give me. I live in rural Tennessee without internet so this phone is how I accomplished my first trip.
  14. Well, it was the plan however I like the 3 year rotation idea and just duck out to Guam and come back. I could play that game for a while. Any ideas of what the current fee is to extend your Visa at the BOI ? Then I'll be asking questions about international banking because I'll want to direct deposit my pension and SSI in an American institution a transfer funds to a bank in country to facilitate my/our ability to live comfortably on, without interruptions. We don't do fancy. Simple people that grocery shop and cook at home. Date nights on occasion. Excellent suggestion. Much thanks.
