  1. There is backlog since the pandemic. Also Abu Dhabi embassy has applicants from various countries in the region like Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, etc.. You can join this telegram group to get more info about Abu Dhabi: https://t.me/+568g6z5IbvI5MjQx
  2. Abu Dhabi Embassy IR5 (Iran resident) PD: July 2020 NVC: Feb 2021 Docs qualified: June 2021 Interview email: Feb 2023 Interview date: April 2023 Wish everyone the best!
  3. Because the core mission of each embassy is serving the people who reside in the country that the embassy is located, whether they are citizens living abroad or locals who want to apply for visas. Similarly the US embassy in Abu Dhabi prioritizes the applications and inquiries of US citizens living in UAE or UAE residents seeking visas, over people in other countries who are not residing in UAE.
  4. Hi, I'm in the same boat, have you received the interview letter? Is your dad a UAE resident? PD: July/2020 DQ: June/2021 Interview date: still waiting Embassy: Abu Dhabi, UAE
  5. Hi, I sent you a message directly, please share the telegram channel, thnx. Also for IR-5 the wait time is definitley more than a year, unless it changes in the future. My documentarily qualified date is June/2021 and still waiting for IL, I know someone with DQ date of Nov/2020 and still waiting for IL....
  6. Hi, can you please share the facebook group if there's a main one, thanks
  7. It could be that more people chose Ankara as their embassy. I know in case of Iranians, many prefer to go to Ankara than Abu Dhabi. Travelling to Turkey is cheaper and doesn't require visa for them.
  8. FYI, the monthly immigrant visa issuance statistics report is now updated and it inludes August and September 2021 https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html
  9. When I got my visa in 2014, the post office process was for residents of UAE only. Those like me who were living in other countires would keep their passports so they could fly back to their country after the interview. I then checked the status of visa on the embassy's website and when the visa was ready after 4 months, I sent my passport to the embassy and they stamped the visa same day. Anyone holding the receipt that you get at the interview can take your passport to the embassy to have the visa stamped. In my case, I hired a travel agency who provided this service and they took my passport to UAE and returned it back to me after the visa was stamped.
  10. Yeah I don't know why, they should have updated Aug and Sep by now.....

  12. It's surprising that the number of IR-5 visas that they issued in July is much larger than other visa types. It could be that the backlog for IR-5 visas is bigger or they are proioritizing the IR-5s. My case is IR-5 and been DQ since June 2021, still waiting for the interview letter......
  13. Then there must be other factors involved, like Country as others mentioned. Also, the embassy may not just look at the date of DQ, they may look at the date that the case arrived at NVC or the date that the petition was filed with USCIS to decide the order in which the interviews are scheduled for people that have similar DQ dates....
  14. Maybe the consulate priortizes IR-1 visas over IR-5s, and IR visas over FB visa, just my assumption....
  15. Hi, go to the below link and select the country that you need police certificate from. When you are on the webpage of that country, scroll down and click on 'Police, Court, Prison Records', it will show you the details. For online certificates, just print the certifiucate that you got online and take it with you, they will be able to verify online. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html
