  1. Hi everyone. My partner has been refused pending the Embassy needing to contact ACRO to corroborate her file. My partner contacted ACRO because it’s been almost a week since the interview and she was told 1-2 business days and that she is basically approved.

ACRO has told her that they emailed the Embassy on the 11th of June but our case has still not updated on the CEAC website.

Is this delay normal? Does anyone have any ideas on what we should be doing? Or is it, like the rest of this process, just a time to wait? We’re trying to be patient but not knowing what’s taking the Embassy so long is exhausting.

  2. Hi everyone, feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment.

We are aware that for the Affidavit of Support, the petitioner and/or co-sponsor needs to provide the recent year’s IRS tax transcript.

    1. I’m curious…the 1040 has exactly the same information, it just doesn’t say “IRS TAX TRANSCRIPT.” Does the 1040 also work, or must it specifically be directly from the IRS?

    2. I am currently working with DoorDash in between my gigs in my industry, and they don’t provide any kind of letter as you are considered self employed but not an employee. If I simply provide my 1099-NEC tax form from them for last year, would that suffice in place of the Letter of Employment?

  3. Hi all. A couple questions…

    1. My partner called the medical place and asked how long the GP Summary is valid for and they told her 4-6 weeks. We’re on another visa group and half the people are saying 4 weeks…others are saying there is no expiry. Does anyone have advice on this?

    2. We’ve just seen something on the medical website saying one of the required documents is a vaccination record with certification…and it’s listed as different from the GP Summary. On my partner’s GP summary, the vaccinations are on there listed. Do we still need to get a separate record for the vaccinations? If so, how do we do that if it’s separate from the summary, and how long does it take to get this?

The links that came from NVC said we could start the process to schedule interview.  The site said we can contact 2 weeks after NVC without receiving our instruction letter so we're going to submit and inquiry tomorrow.

Hey! So, I checked the CEAC website today and our status has now changed to Ready. We havent received any emails or letters other than the email from NVC about the petition being sent to the Embassy.

We want to get on the website and register and move forward with that, but again, we haven’t received any letters or packets or anything. We have the DS160 done though…and when I go on the CEAC website the photo is what it says. How crucial is waiting for any documents? Someone told me they didn’t get any packet until 3 weeks AFTER it had already changed to Ready…

    Thoughts?

Yep good to go and select that option.

Worth checking if your other half has recieved and email from NVC as that is how we found out the status had changed to ready.

No email or letter. Just the first email stating they were sending it to the Embassy. Only found out the changed status to ready because I’ve been checking the website 🤷🏻‍♀️

  6. On the CEAC website, it states that our case now ready at the embassy. Under that, there’s a link to register and begin the steps towards the interview.

When you go to register, there are boxes and the one we need states “I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K (Fiancé(e)/Spouse/Child) visa appointment.”

We haven’t received a letter or email yet for any instructions. Someone on this forum stated it took them 3 weeks after it said ready to receive Packet 3… our NOA2 approval from USCIS expires in May.

How necessary is it to wait until we’ve received Packet 3 before we begin registering and scheduling medical and interview?

  7. 24 minutes ago, TimF74 said:

Yep that's the one, select register on the Web page, abd follow the steps.

I finally got my packet 3 instructions from UK embassy 3 weeks after ready status. They posted via snail mail rather than emailed.

Alright. So it’s okay to select “I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K (Fiancé(e)/Spouse/Child) visa appointment.”? Obviously we haven’t received any packet either..

  8. Help!!!

I’m very confused. My fiancée is immigrating to the US from the UK. We saw on the NVC website to fill out the DS160 form…which we have done. But now I’m seeing that she’s supposed to fill out and bring the DS260 form to the interview..

160 is non-immigrant and 260 is immigrant…so which form is she supposed to fill out? 160 or 260?

Hi Annikka, my advice would be to keep checking Ceac website. As soon as the status changes from in transit to ready you can register on the UK American consulate Web page, which will then take you through all the next steps. You just need to complete you DS160 for the ref number they give you for this, and have your NVC Case number.

I had my medical Tuesday and Interview booked for the 24th April. As of yet have not recieved a welcome letter.

Hiya. The CEAC website now says “Ready.” When you say register on the UK consulate webpage, do you mean this? This is the link that shows up on the CEAC page underneath “ready”…sorry I’m unclear of if we’re supposed to be waiting for any other information from the Consulate before we start scheduling everything…

    4. Lastly-you will never go wrong by waiting until they inform you of what you need. However the tips and tricks spread sheet in your month NVC to embassy thread (22 pages of information) is very helpful.

Tip: on that spread sheet there's hack on tracking DHL mail sent. You should take a look at it.

I hope that helps a bit.

Thank you for your input! Sorry, what spreadsheet are you referring to?

When you go to sign up to register with courier it asks if you've received your instruction letter from the consular section or immigrant visa unit. The links that came from NVC said we could start the process to schedule interview.  The site said we can contact 2 weeks after noa2 without receiving our instruction letter so we're going to submit and inquiry tomorrow.

    Hope that helps a little.

An okay. Thank you for that info on the ACRO.

Register with courier? What is this for? As of yesterday, we only received an email stating that they received our petition and are forwarding it to the Consulate. I assume we’ll be getting more information at some point, either by mail or email?

VisaMedicals in London is the only accredited clinic for US visa applicants in the UK -- https://visamedicals.co.uk/united-states/

Once CEAC status turns "Ready", submit the DS-160 form, pay the MRV fee, then book the K1 visa interview appointment through the online portal -- https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv

Okay. Do I need to wait for more information from NVC/Consulate before booking anything?

As I mentioned before, we’ve literally just received the email from NVC stating they received our petition and will now send it to the Consulate as of  3 hours ago. Do I need to slow down and wait for more information from them? I read from the gov website that we’re supposed to received a “Welcome Letter” from NVC stating the documents she needs to bring…salamat po :)

  13. I’ve looked through the forum but all the forms are confusing me. We just received an email from the NVC stating they have received our petition and are now sending it to the Consulate - yay! So now…

    1. When I log on to the CEAC website, it only says “In Transit” and that the interview date was provided by the NVC. As stated above, we’ve only just received an email confirming our case number and their receipt of the petition…But we haven’t received the interview date. Does this arrive once the petition has reached the Consulate?

    2. On the NVC website, their timeline states I need to pay fees now that our case has been created…do they send more information on how much the fees are? I’m unable to see any fees when I log onto the CEAC website yet.

    3. I know I need to fill out the Affidavit of Support form…but where do I file it? Or does my fiancée have to bring it with her to the interview?

    4. I saw on the USCIS website that she needs to bring a Police Certificate to the interview, “If you have resided in the United Kingdom for 6 months or more since the age of 16, you are required to obtain a police certificate from the ACPO Criminal Records Office (ACRO).” Where can she attain this document, as their website is currently under maintenance and has been for a while?

    5. For the medical exam, does the Consulate send the list of panelist’s who are able to do this exam AFTER they’ve received our petition?

    6. Any other advice? I’ve done sooo much research on all of this but it’s starting to get jumbled and I’m loosing track of timeframes and where and when not to send forms.

I would check in the UK forum but I believe you have to schedule your own appointment…

GOOD LUCK on the next phase of your journey.

This is the part I’m confused on. However, on the NVC website, it states that you should receive an interview appointment letter from the NVC 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m just unsure how long their processing time is to receive the welcome letter. It’s only been about 8 weeks so far..

Oerstaying by 1 day, it's simple maths, no excuses, VWP gone forever.

Booking tickets before ESTA approval, simple common sense to not do that.

Yes you will be traveling on your own.

Hmm, before you become completely judgmental and assume - she was only in the US for 4 hours past the “90 day” timeframe. Excuse me for thinking that it wouldn’t be enough to deny a new ESTA.

On top of that, phoning the ESTA centre we’ve been told that it likely wasn’t the reason for denial. We have a K1 visa processing so kindly don’t respond with a half assessed answer. Thanks.

  16. 6 minutes ago, Sammy_2496 said:

Yes then that’s the reason it was denied. No worry though, it wont affect the K1 and since you were just approved you guys will be together very soon! Congratulations 😄

Thank you 🤗 We filed in September 2021 and have only just been approved. Still waiting on NVC to be able to move forward with the interview 🥲

does ur partner ever overstay while using ESTA?

She overstayed by one day because we thought we counted the 90 days correctly but then the ESTA said one day difference than when the return flight was booked.

Any chance that she violated the law, and a background check now shows it?

    No.

Did she overstay her previous ESTA?
You cannot appeal an ESTA denial unfortunately, so your partner will have to try a B2 visa…. But i doubt she will get one. Try getting a refund on your flight and you should go and visit her. Realistically, she will have to apply for a fiance or spouse visa in the future.

She overstayed by one day. We have a K1 fiancé visa processing and it’s recently been approved by USCIS as of February this year.
