Steve & Gloria got a reaction from Chancy in part IV, the big IR1/CR1 DQ'd message group...
Hi everyone -- Gloria entered the US yesterday and is now an LPR!
For those in the Vancouver area, we entered via the Abbotsford/Sumas crossing because we are bringing our pet lovebird and Sumas is the only station with a vet to do the required examination. It was absolutely stress-free compared to a busy crossing like the Peace Arch. Ours was the only car there, and the people were very nice start to finish.
A very big thanks to all of you kind folks, particularly @Hawk Riders and the other volunteers who spend so many hours of their time to help others find their way through a complicated and stressful process. You're the best!

A quick update: my wife's interview was October 4th and she received her passport and visa back on October 12th. She had it sent to the local post office and they notified her.
Sending good thoughts to all those still waiting!

Just an update - my husband's interview was October 4, 2021. His visa status changed to approved on on October 8th, 2021. He picked up his visa at the courier yesterday and crossed and landed the same day (October 13th, 2021). I've updated our timeline.
Thank you all for this invaluable info and support. I will continue to lurk and jump in to help whenever I can!

Gloria had her interview this morning and was approved! It took about 90 minutes. She was not asked about vaccination (she is vaccinated of course!). She was also not asked for the updated tax returns she brought even though her case has been delayed so long (submitted documents in 2019, DQ'd Dec. 1, 2020). The officers she talked to were very nice to everyone, by the way, and they seemed to be fully staffed at about 8 officers. All in all, a good experience after the very long wait.
We want to thank @Hawk Riders for putting this thread together, and all of the kind people we've encountered here. We learned a lot of important information from all of you!
Our best wishes to all who are still waiting -- hang in there, things are finally speeding up!

In the excitement of being approved, I made a mistake re: the petitioner birth certificate. In fact the officer DID ask to see it -- Gloria does not recall if he asked specifically for the original, but she had both the original and a copy with her. Sorry if this post misled anyone!
Also, she carried in a binder for all of the paperwork -- others had plastic folders of various kinds.

Happy to report that I was approved this morning at my interview. A really smooth process. It took almost 3 hours though and the room was full most of the time. I was asked about travel outside of Canada by security when entering. I mentioned that I traveled from the US yesterday, and he asked if I was compliant with all CBSA COVID regulations and I said yes. I wasn't asked for proof of vaccination, though I did have it with me just in case.
Everyone was very friendly, and the interview itself was less than 10 minutes. The consular officer asked the usual questions:
-Where and when did you meet?
-What do you and your husband do for work?
-How long have you been in the US on a TN?
-Will you live in your current residence in the US?
-Have you ever overstayed a visa in the US?
-Have you ever lived anywhere other the Canada and the US?
-Have you ever been arrested or charged with a crime?
-Have you traveled to any other countries in the last 5 years?
He reviewed by 2020 tax forms, but said he didn't need them because what he had was sufficient. He said everything in your application looks great, and I plan to approve. I came with photocopies of all originals as instructed, but no one wanted the photocopies of anything, and they scanned all originals. I was then given the paper that indicates how to track your passport.
Thanks to all the VJ'ers for the helpful info over the past two years! Good luck to others still waiting. I'll update once passport is received.

We are IR5 (Parents of US Citizen) Category. Our visa was approved and we are in the US right now. This group really helps everyone. Just want to post some points based on our interview experience.
1. Police certificate is valid for 2 years now 2. Get a Police certificate for any other country if you lived 6 months there anytime 3. Upload recent tax returns etc.. It saves your time and their time 4. Got passport back in a week Sep 27th (Pick up at Montreal) 5. Don't forget to pay immigrant fee after passport received. https://my.uscis.gov/uscis-immigrant-fee/ Thank you @Hawk Riders for this group. Please add SSN and Green card timelines also in the excel. It avoids duplicate posts about it. @Hawk Riders -

Within a few hours, the CEAC status changed from "ready" (for an interview) to "Issued under administrative processing" to "Issued, in final processing, expect it within 5 business days". So, thankfully, it looks like it won't be 3-4 weeks after all!

Hello! Yes I was denied during my Interview in Montreal because my husband who is a dual citizen USA/Canada was with me in Canada- what I provided for them regarding domicile was not accepted- he had to go to the USA and open a bank account, secure a temporary residence, I had to show proof of wiring him money as well as he was able to unbelievably get hired in a job all within a week. There was also a problem with the I-864 which I had to to resolve by obtaining another sponsor- it was alot and I was massively stressed as I did not want this temporary separation but it all worked out in the end and I'm so happy and relieved!
