    Hi

You have received any updates on interview or got visa!!!!!
Hi Canada_F3: We received last week an email from the consulate requesting to update documentation including submitting new medicals, Affidavit of Support, Canadian police records, and the update of the DS-260 form. We don't have to attend an interview again, as we attended on Nov. 2019. If you haven't been contacted by the consulate yet, be prepared, your interview should be coming soon.

Are you asking me? I'm not sure what you would have to do as I've only lived in Canada. Anything expired I'd update. I only had to update my medicals, criminal check, my daughter's Passports cause they expired and redo our passport photos. We got new income tax return from our petitioner but they didn't ask us for it (they do for some people) they didn't ask for updated affidavit cause nothing changed on it. They actually didn't ask for anything from our petitioner at the interview other than what they did for a living and where they lived and when they moved to the US (they came from Canada too).

Every case is different so just have all your documents so you have whatever they ask you for.

The interview went really smoothly. First person asked for our Passports and civil documents and then we waited for a bit to be called for the interview. The man that interviewed us was very happy and friendly and even complemented our 2 little girls on their pretty dresses. He asked us a few basic questions, what do we do for work,  where we will be living,  what our relationship to petitioner was, what our petitioner did for a living. They took our finger prints then said they are approving our visa. Gave us a welcome letter with instructions. Our visa has already been sent out 2 days after. Just waiting for the Canada Post to deliver now.

I am hoping! I am just scared to go through getting my medical done again and traveling to Montreal and get there and they ask for the new interview letter and I don't have one this time and they tell me we weren't supposed to reschedule yet. 😬

So I asked to be safe.

Yes, if that's what they are supposed to do. It gave a confirmation that it's booked but I am just not 100% sure we were supposed to as they didn't send a letter to tell us to do it. I thought they would. So we shall see what they say.

Also I'd like them to send any information or instructions we might need to know.

No we were finally able to reschedule through their website. It wouldn't let us before. But we've emailed the consulate to make sure all is ok. Just waiting to hear back. We called the visa appointment center and they confirmed the appointment is booked and valid but I still want to confirm everything.

It is! Hopefully they are ok with that. They sent us the reschedule link when they canceled our last interview and told us to monitor it for updates and instructions so we did. All the times we tried rescheduling before it said there are no appointments available for our visa typecat this time. But this time last attempt it let us book one, but they didn't specifically email us to say go ahead and reschedule now so I hope it's ok. That's why I emailed to ask. Hopefully it's all good! 🤞

We got our rescheduled interview with Montreal today. May 26th. But the earliest medical exam appointment we could get was May 20th. The doctor said we should be ok still for timing but if not they'll still interview and wait for them.

Of course I'd rather have everything we need so no delays. He said it's common right now cause of the backlog.

Anyone else have their medical come through after the interview? If so what happened? Did you get a 221g? And if so how long did it take to finish processing and you heard back from the consulate?

Shall we all f3/f4 waiting for interview at Montreal embassy jointly all together request the embassy to restart the visa interview as some are waiting since long time. As Montreal embassy given least priority to f3/f4 and scheduled visa interviews for ir1/cr1 only, while other embassies are scheduled interviews of f3/f4 in similar timeline as other visa class I.e ir1/CR1.

According to the report for March processed immigrant visas Montreal consulate has processed 5 F4 visas. I wonder if they are starting to book F3/F4 interviews. Otherwise how would’ve these ones been processed?

Apparently many other consulates in different countries have been processing F3/F4 applications since the ban was lifted in March.

Canada_F3 reacted to DanRios in Montreal Consulate - How long to wait for Interview?
    Hi Canada_F3:

My suggestion is that you attend the interview with updated affidavits of support and supporting financial documentation, even if you are not required to bring them with you in advance. By the time you will attend the interview, probably this documentation will be outdated, so the consular officer is probably going to ask you for that again, what delays the issue of your visa. In our case, that's what they asked for, so we had to resubmit them again to the consulate in a further date. Unfortunately, many things happened with this Affidavit on our side, and then Covid arrived, so we ended submitting documents  by mid February 2020 with not enough time for processing before the consulate close due to Covid on March 17, 2020. They told us that normal processing for this it was 6-8 weeks, so bad timing for us. Now the consulate is partially open again but I understand is not processing F3 visas yet, only spouse and children visas, medical personnel, etc. so we have no other option than waiting.

Besides of that, I would suggest you bring updated police records too. You never know. You might want the officer have everything to make a decision about your visa at the spot and not having to resubmit additional documents. Mi guess is that when you get your interview appointment and they ask you for your medical, they will ask you for this, but if they don't, be prepare.

The interview is pretty simple, they just ask basic questions about relationship with the petitioner, what do you do for a living etc. and review the originals of the documents submitted to CEAC electronically. If you are asked for more documentation like us, they will give you  what it is called a '"Refusal Worksheet" explaining the motives and indicating what to submit and how. You only have to resubmit them by courier following their procedures, yo don't have to attend an interview again, or at least that was our case. They said it takes 6-8 week to reprocess the visa due to the volume of applications, etc. so I sincerely wish your visas are approved on spot and does not have to pass through this.

Good luck and be patient. Things seems to be moving slowly.

Hi. I also got Document qualified in July 2019 and had my interview cancelled in march last year like @MovingToFlorida So the regular 8 months time to get an interview might change considering the backlog built due to covid. Hard to say how long would take now as they haven't even started rescheduling the cancelled appointments. Let's keep this topic up so more F3/F4 applicants will share their experience while waiting for the interview.

I am F3 (I think we chatted before on another post) but I recently had it confirmed with an email from the consulate that Montreal isn't scheduling F3 interviews at all right now. We had our interview canceled last year cause of the pandemic and they aren't even rescheduling us yet so new nvc cases I assume won't be booked until rescheduled appointments are done.

Before the pandemic we were DQ in July 2019 and didn't get our interview until March 2020 (so 8 months we waited and that was during regular pre pandemic processing).

That being said I have no idea what wait times will be like for rescheduling or new nvc cases for F3 visas now. They don't tell us anything 😕.
