I think she would probably be better off going back home. Who knows what is next for her in this situation. It's pretty obvious that she ranks low on this guy's list of priorities. I base this on his own words. He's the one that came here and posted all this, what did he expect? Sympathy?

Dude, your wife is in jail. Either get her out, and make it right, or buy her a ticket home back to PI. It's real easy. I'm not a "hater," but the girl is in JAIL.

You have to send the originals in the native language as well as the translations. That's the way it works. You'll get them back at the interview.

Man!! It's a website. I got kicked off of thaivisa.com for no good reason. If I got banned here, who really gives a sh!t?
This site is the best in the world when it comes to immigration to the US. All the other OT and Politics and Religion stuff is really secondary at the end of the day.

I should really let Captain Ewok handle this but I'm going to step in because frankly, I am tired of this nonsense. Yes, I am having a bad week and my patience is wearing thin. Brad did not suspend your account. Captain Ewok suspended both accounts. Your reply to him apparently raised some doubt about the degree of your complicity so that is why your suspension was lifted. As I am aware of the particulars involved in the reasons for these suspensions, my personal opinion is that both of you got off very lightly and should be facing much stronger consequences. I am rather appalled at your audacity to raise this issue in this way as if you both were some sort of victims which is far from the case. I suggest that if you wish to 'throw stones' you should first of all get your facts straight, and second - move out of your 'glass house'.

I think some people that have a plan to marry a foreigner, I mean guys who go searching abroad for a wife, "bride hunters" if you will, probably visit websites like VJ long before even meeting their future spouse. The reality is, many of us do not fall into this category and are doing this on-the-fly. I suspect Baron555 was once a "bride hunter".

daboyz reacted to pushbrk in ki 221(g) asking for co sponsor
I think the problem is you both only have a clue to a different part of the whole story. There's a long list of things that would end the sponsor's obligation that include both becoming a citizen and leaving the USA. There's even a potential for the sponsor to be liable until either the sponsor or sponsored immigrant dies. It's far more complicated than either of you have described.
The OP's petitioner needs a cosponsor and should consider himself extremely fortunate that the interview was not in Manila.

Responsible for their actions? Sure, of course. But in this case, I have a strong suspicion he had very little to say about what he got involved in.
Arranged marriage is not nearly as common in Vietnam as it used to be, especially in the bigger cities, but it's still very common in the smaller villages and rural areas. People in those circumstances don't get married because they love each other. They get married because the parents can't support their kids for the rest of their lives, and they need a large extended family in order to support the elderly family members when they can no longer work. The family is like a living organism. If some parts die off and aren't replaced then the other parts wither and die, as well. Each new generation is needed to help the generations that preceded them to survive.
This goes way beyond practical. It's also strongly spiritual. They believe the spirits of deceased relatives remain on the earthly plain for two generations, and the living relatives have a responsibility to continue to take care of them until they move on. When they have an important family gathering, they prepare a lot of food. Before eating the food, they place it on a table outside the front door of the home, along with tea, beer, whatever. The spirits of their relatives, as well as any "homeless" spirits who don't have relatives to care for them, are invited to 'dine' on the food before the family sits down to eat. They honor the birthdays of the deceased with this sort of feast. There is nothing worse than passing away in Vietnam and not having any family to honor you, to feast on your birthday, and to place your picture behind the family altar.
Vietnamese continue these traditions when you go abroad. I've been to many of these family gatherings, and I've gotten a pretty good sense for how important family is to them, and especially the important of the family pecking order. There are certain elders in the extended family who are so important that their word is practically law. By a weird quirk of fate, I now have an "uncle" who is younger than me by eight years, but he's far above me in the family hierarchy. He's even above my wife, who is the same age as him. I married into this hierarchy, so I have to accept it. I'm given a lot of leeway because I'm not Vietnamese, but if Uncle Van asks me for a favor then I better have a damn good reason for saying no.
Anyway, back to the OP's problem... I suspect he comes from a very strictly traditional family. His parents told him to get married, and he did what he was told, in spite of any misgivings he might have had.
People have said that he should "man up" and take responsibility for his actions. I believe that's what he's trying to do. He believes he made a big mistake, and he wants to fix it even if it means going against his parents wishes. People say that in western culture you wouldn't marry a foreign bride and then drop her like a hot potato because you didn't really love her. Well, in western culture you wouldn't marry someone because your parents told you to. I think he's caught between western culture, which is telling him to follow his heart and look for happiness, and Vietnamese culture, which is telling him to obey his parents.
    I don't envy the position he's in.

While I hope for the best for you keep in mind this is a journey. You may have set a record for entering into a relationship but you should now prepare for the journey into the reality of immigration. The timelines here on V J are a good guide to determin how long it takes for a case to result in a visa.

They do not ask if you have any intent to immigrate...EVER!
She has no intention to immigrate upon THAT ENTRY AUTHORIZED BY THE B1/B2. Where is she misrepresenting? She is in NO WAY misrepresenting. Even if the I-129f was in process at that time, she would not be misrepresenting as she will LEAVE and re-enter on a K-1.
There is nothing at all under the table, misrepresenting, shaky, underhanded or otherwise about this. She is admitted on a B1/B2. She gets married while here (or files for a K1 while here) returns to her country when her B1 entry expires and returns when she has her K1...where is the issue? There is none.
You can look high and low, read it 6 ways from Sunday and there is absolutely NO restriction against what I am suggesting. I do not suggest people violate or play fast and loose, this is absolutely 100% legal and above board.
Not only that, but she can leave and return under the B1/B2 visa also. She will have to return to Ukraine for her interview, medical etc., and reenter with the CR-1 or K1 visa, but she can stay here as long as she is authorized by whatever visa she has.
