Well I had to contact my congressman to expedite it. My passport went to Western Passport Center which is in Tucson. When they called me and collect my fees, they immediately approved it and printed it in the same location. Was shipped with UPS with my naturalization certificate. Locator number is 61

I and my son got approval today, Everything same(new orleans office, in process dates) except we mailed it on 07/16.

Oath ceremony done. Applied for passport  as well.

Dec 11 - Bio reuse
May 13 - Interview notice
June 24 - Interview, same day approval and oath ceremony notice
July 16 - oath ceremony

My interview was done today. status says oath ceremony will  be scheduled. Philly office, filing date - oct 01, bio reuse - Dec 12, interview notice - may 13

When i applied for passport for my son  through my naturalization I had to give the original greencard of his as part of application. I dont know whether they will return it back along with passport. I dont think so. 
Maybe you havent lost it - you just gave it way as part of his passport application.

This. I handed in the sheet of paper that DoS sent to say they were keeping the green card. Copy of passport uploaded for n600 application.

Like someone else said, if you don't need the passports anytime soon then there's nothing to regret. You'll get your passports soon enough and you didn't have to spend an extra $60 per passport either. 

If you don't need your passport very soon, it will get processed soon and you won't really feel that pain once you have it.  Don't regret it at all.  I don't think it is that big of a difference. You will probably be marked as "in process" within the next 2-3 weeks. Just be patient and don't listen too much to the negative comments...

I only showed my state ID and Social Security card for work eligibility. I dont usually provide my permanent resident card when I applied at previous jobs.

Got my interview scheudled on May 13. interview date is June 24. Filed Oct 01 and bio re-use on Dec 13. Philly office.

Filed 10/1, received biometric reuse on 12/11. Philadelphia.
