  3. It is Wednesday -- time for our approval-evoking*, good-news-prompting* Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke: *that is, if correlation = causation =========================================== HOW MANY DOES IT TAKE? Q: How many women with PMS does it take to screw in a light bulb? A: One. And do you know WHY it only takes ONE? Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb. They don't even know the bulb is BURNED OUT. They would sit in this house in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it out. And once they figured it out they wouldn't be able to find the light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CUPBOARD for the past 17 YEARS. But if they did, by some miracle, find the light bulbs, TWO DAYS LATER the chair that they dragged from two rooms over to stand on to change the STUPID lightbulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE CRUMPLED WRAPPER THAT THE STUPID #)#(*(*^*&% LIGHT BULBS CAME IN. WHY??? BECAUSE NO ONE IN THIS HOUSE EVER CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE 12 FEET DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE. THE HOUSE!! THE HOUSE!!! IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS!!!
  4. Typical for Politico in general, huh?

  7. I was wondering where she'd end up! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ With Harmeet Dhillon, Trump Adds Another Stellar Pick to His Administration President-elect Donald Trump keeps rolling out solid picks for his incoming administration, indicating he's much more attuned to the need for installing quality candidates in order to help him achieve his stated goals – and the sweet revenge of success — this time around. On Monday evening, Trump announced another stellar pick in attorney Harmeet Dhillon, CEO of the Center for American Liberty and managing partner of the Dhillon Law Group, who he's tapped to serve as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Justice. Trump shared the announcement on Truth Social: [...] https://redstate.com/smoosieq/2024/12/09/trump-adds-another-stellar-pick-to-his-administration-in-harmeet-dhillon-n2183001
  8. Pathetic Corporate Media Targets Tulsi Gabbard [...] Having smeared Pete Hegseth, President-elect Trump's nominee for secretary of defense, the horde is now going after Tulsi Gabbard, his pick for director of national intelligence (DNI). Gabbard was a four-term Democrat House member who served on the Armed Services Subcommittee on Intelligence. She served in the Army National Guard for two decades, deployed to Iraq and Kuwait and is now a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. According to a report in Politico, "Gabbard does have one of the highest levels of security clearance, known as a TS/SCI, due to her time in the military." Yet, the media circulate a letter from "former national security officials" who say she isn't up to the job. Sound Familiar? As Yogi Berra would have put it, "It's like deja vu all over again." 9. I worked with Kash Patel to expose the Russia hoax and know he's the best pick to reform the FBI [...] You can imagine how intimidating it would be for a staffer to be directly threatened by top-level Department of Justice officials. But Kash could not be bullied. He was fearless, methodical, and intelligent, and ultimately played a decisive role in exposing the most consequential and damaging hoax in American history. 10. I agree with every word of this. The only question is who's worse. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jimmy Carter 2.0: Yet another Democratic presidency ends in disaster The Biden administration is less than two months from its end, which cannot come soon enough. As a final insult to his staunchest defenders, those who long insisted he was a paragon of decency, President Joe Biden pardoned his convicted felon and all-around wastrel son Hunter. A more appropriate final chapter to his tenure, one cannot imagine. The "official" rankings of professional historians will likely be kinder to Biden than he deserves. But that merely reflects the prejudices of the academic guild — it is partial to presidents who expand executive authority and grow the federal government, both of which Biden did. And look for post-presidential encomia to Biden from the usual midwits in the press and opinion magazines, who will dutifully explain that the man did his level best and that it was the country that let him down. These people have been trying to gaslight the public about Biden since the 2020 election. But it does not work anymore. We have all seen enough to judge Biden, and though Vice President Kamala Harris was technically on the ballot in November, the United States found him and his administration wanting. If Biden compares to any modern president, it is most likely Jimmy Carter. Indeed, the similarities are striking. On a surface level, inflation helped sink the Carter presidency, just as it did Biden. The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan was a foreign policy problem for Carter, as the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan damaged Biden. 11. I agree with every word of this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pete Hegseth's Nomination Is A Hill Trump Should Die On The Washington GOP establishment's opposition to Pete Hegseth serving as President Trump's secretary of defense has nothing to do with the unsubstantiated allegations against Hegseth and everything to do with resistance to Trump's plans to reform the Department of Defense and end America's involvement in endless foreign wars that are so beloved by the establishment. That's why Hegseth's nomination is a hill Trump should die on. If a handful of Senate Republicans can sink Hegseth, they will spend the next four years undermining and obstructing Trump's entire agenda. Trump needs to send them a message that such obstruction won’t be tolerated in his second term. Now is the time for the president-elect to make them understand that if they oppose his nominees, they'll be putting their political careers in jeopardy. 12. This is an outrage and miscarriage of justice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nearly 4 Years Later, No Letup in Jan. 6 Prosecutions, Possible Pardons or Not [...] In what Attorney General Merrick Garland describes as the biggest criminal investigation in Department of Justice history, more than 1,560 people have been charged for federal crimes never before used against political protesters, including under a post-Enron obstruction statute overturned by the Supreme Court in June. At least 1,000 of these defendants have been convicted – either at trial or by accepting plea offers – with some 650 defendants ordered to serve time in a federal prison. Sentences range from a few days in jail to up to 22 years as the DOJ seeks "terror enhancements" to tack on additional time. Activity in the J6 investigation accelerated the month before the election. At least 16 individuals were arrested; home security camera footage obtained by RCI shows the heavily-armed pre-dawn FBI raid of a subject in California on October 17. Shortly after the election, DOJ officials instructed attorneys working on J6 cases to carry on regardless of the pending change in leadership. A spokesman for Violent Psychos of America, the nation's largest organized group of deranged criminals, issued a statement condemning Penny's acquittal and announcing the organization's plan to boycott the New York City subway system in protest. 17. It's Sunday! Time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke (this one definitely for guys and probably written by one): =========================================== ARE YOU DONE WITH THAT CHILI, PAL? A hungry guy really craved a bowl of hot chili. He saw a diner just up the street, so he decided to go there. A pretty waitress showed him to his seat, and he promptly placed his order. The waitress said, "Sorry, but the guy next to you got the last bowl." He looked over and saw that the guy had finished his meal, but the bowl of chili was still full. He asked, "Are you going to eat that chili?" The other guy said, "No. Help yourself." The first guy slid the bowl of chili over and started to eat. When he got about halfway down, his spoon hit something. He looked and saw a dead mouse, and he immediately barfed all the chili back into the bowl. The other guy said, "Yeah, that's about as far as I got, too."

  19. This sounds awful -- take heed! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Study: Overuse Of Hair Detangler Giving Rise To Product-Resistant Supertangles EL SEGUNDO, CA—Revealing that split ends have grown 50% stronger in just the past decade, a new study published Friday by researchers at the L'Oréal Academy warned that overuse of hair detangler was giving rise to new product-resistant supertangles. "When hair detangler was first developed, we arrogantly assumed we would be living in a world without snagging, but now we face an even bigger threat to smooth, silky hair," said study author Vicki Zhou, explaining that decades of reliance on hair-detangling technology has led to the evolution of supertangles, which can survive the standard chemicals used to improve follicle manageability. 20. Daniel Penny Judge Tells Jury To Go Back And Deliberate Again Until They Come Back With The Correct Verdict NEW YORK CITY — Judge Maxwell Wiley has ordered the jury in Daniel Penny's trial to go back and keep on deliberating until they come back with a different verdict. After four days of deliberation, the jury announced that Penny could not be found guilty of manslaughter. Judge Wiley asked if maybe the jury could just pretend that never happened, and instructed them to think of some new charge to deliberate about until they changed their minds. "Ugh, you guys are making this so hard," sighed Wiley, holding his head in his hands. 21. *Acting* President Trump Speaks Out on Developing Middle Eastern Conflict: 'NOT OUR FIGHT' Things in Syria are getting downright interesting, with opposition fighters closing in on Damascus. 23. We're Back, Baby! Trump Goes to Paris and Reminds the World Who's Number One For those of us patriotic Americans who believe wholeheartedly in American exceptionalism, the last four years have been embarrassing. Anytime Joe Biden has made an appearance on the world stage, we've been left with nothing more than cringeworthy gaffes and viral videos of him acting as if he has no idea where he is or what he's doing there. But today, Donald Trump accepted an invitation from France to attend the re-opening of the Notre Dame Cathedral, which was a damaged in a fire in 2019, and the entire event was symbolic of what I hope will be a return to our original place in the world — a return to the top, a return to respect. Even the Associated Press had to admit that Trump was welcomed with "presidential pop." The media outlet reported: [...] https://pjmedia.com/sarah-anderson/2024/12/07/were-back-baby-trump-goes-to-paris-and-reminds-the-world-whos-number-one-n4934935
  24. Another ISIS-like state caliphate pending. Oh, joy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Iran Withdrawing From Syria Signals That Assad's Days in Power May Be Numbered Iran is abandoning its Syrian ally following rapid gains made by Islamist rebel forces, who are now closing in on the capital Damascus. "Iran is starting to evacuate its forces and military personnel because we cannot fight as an advisory and support force if Syria's army itself does not want to fight," a prominent advisor to the Iranian regime, Mehdi Rahmati, told the New York Times. "The bottom line," he said, "is that Iran has realized that it cannot manage the situation in Syria right now with any military operation and this option is off the table." The unspoken reason Iran is leaving Syria is that Israel smashed Iran's proxy Hezbollah, fatally weakening its ability to carry out operations outside of Lebanon.
