VAWA, Part 27
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
Wednesday means it's time for our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke: =========================================== BUMPER STICKERS I like pig butts, and I cannot lie. I eat sand. Just a little sometimes as a treat. Bigfoot is real, and I helped him commit tax fraud. I'm not like most teens -- I'm 47. In dog years, I'm gay. I brake for suicidal squirrels. Honk if you love Snoopy or are insane. No Baby On Board. Feel free to drive into me. Do NOT honk at me My life is worthless. I will kill us both. I'm 70 -- leave me the hell alone. Sorry for driving the speed limit. SOME of us have warrants! There's no reason to tailgate me when I'm doing 50 in a 35, and those flashing lights on top of your car look ridiculous. -
FDA Recommends 6-11 Servings Of Microplastics Every Day For Growing Children SILVER SPRING, MD — In an attempt to comply with new policies being implemented by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Food and Drug Administration announced today that it was now recommending 6-11 servings of microplastics every day for growing children. With early nutrition playing such a significant role in a child's development, experts at the FDA agreed that an ideal diet should include no less than 6 servings of a mixed variety of microplastics in all food and beverages. "These are the building blocks for the kind of life we want kids to have," said FDA spokesman Hal Borensen. "A diet free of microplastics is a diet that is sorely lacking in substances that can provide the pathway to [...] https://babylonbee.com/news/fda-recommends-6-11-servings-of-microplastics-every-day-for-growing-children

JD Vance-Shaped Cheeto Sells For $1.7 Million U.S. — According to sources, a single Cheeto shaped like Vice President JD Vance officially sold at auction this week for an astounding $1.7 million. The item was sold through eBay to an anonymous bidder. In their review, the buyer wrote, "Looks exactly like JD Vance! BASED! Would buy from again A++++!" The JD Vance-shaped Cheeto joined the ranks of other food items that bore striking resemblances to notable figures. In 2004, a grilled cheese sandwich bearing the image of the Virgin Mary sold for $28,000, and in 2017 a potato chip resembling Harambe the gorilla sold for over $99,000. The Vance Cheeto, however, has surpassed them all with its record-breaking sale price. [...] https://babylonbee.com/news/jd-vance-shaped-cheeto-sells-for-17-million

When People Tell You Who They Are, Believe Them

In Paterson, New Jersey, the local Muslims show their hand Most people don't spend much time thinking about Paterson, New Jersey. It's time, though, that they start to do so, because unfolding there is the perfect example of the fact that many Muslims believe the Islamic doctrine that says you don't immigrate to assimilate; you do so to conquer. Paterson is a town with a long history. The Dutch took the region from the Acquackanonk tribe and the British took it from the Dutch. After the Revolution, the town itself was founded, it was one of the first great manufacturing towns, thanks to the energy derived from the Great Falls of the Passaic River. Eventually, Paterson was home to textile mills, firearm manufacturers (Samuel Colt started, but didn't stay, there), and breweries. Industry meant immigrants, but, until recently, these immigrants wanted to assimilate to the American way. But things are changing in Paterson. Of its almost 160,000 people, 25,000 to 30,000 are Muslims, almost all of whom are clustered in Paterson's south side. This means it has the second-largest Muslim population in the U.S. per capita—that is, coming up on 20% of the population—putting it second only to Dearborn, MI, which clocks in at 55% Muslim. There should be no question. If 18-year-olds in our military have the right, why not everyone that age? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will SCOTUS Take Up Gun Bans for Young Adults? Fingers crossed, though given the months-long limbo for "assault weapon" and "large capacity" magazine ban cases that the Court has subjected us to, it's very much an open question about what the justices will do with the latest Second Amendment cert petition to land on their doorstep. In a somewhat unusual step, both the plaintiffs and defendants in a 2A case are asking the Court to step in and make a final determination. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison was the first party to ask SCOTUS to grant cert to Worth v. Jacobson after an Eighth Circuit panel unanimously agreed that the state's law prohibiting adults under the age of 21 from lawfully carrying a firearm violated their Second Amendment rights, but now the Firearms Policy Coalition, MN Gun Owners Caucus, and Second Amendment Foundation are also asking SCOTUS to hear the case. In their reply to Ellison's petition, the plaintiffs note that appellate courts across the country are at odds with each other over when, exactly, our right to keep and bear arms kicks in, and only SCOTUS can answer that question with any degree of finality. We need more good news like this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Headlines Have Caught Up to Mike Rowe. Now What? JOHNSTOWN, Pennsylvania -- Alex Bambino, 21, is the son of two educators. He's busy working, welding a piece of material that will be used on a heavily armored military vehicle when finished. Despite two college-educated parents, who teach at the local Cambrian County schools, he wanted nothing to do with college following high school. "I like working with my hands, being part of making something that is important, and I had no interest in starting my adult life in debt," he said. So he went to Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center, and he became so good at what he did that he was recognized at the SkillsUSA championship as a national competitor. He found work in his hometown at JWF Defense Systems, located in the old Bethlehem Steel plant along the Conemaugh River. And he became part of something bigger than himself in the machines he helped make. We Know How Much of the Department of Education Is Expected to Be Eliminated Under Trump It's not entirely shocking news, but the Department of Education is about to undergo a severe reorganization, the most extensive since USAID was absorbed into the State Department. How To Commit Democratic Party Suicide
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Democrats' performative protest exposes the party's lack of an alternative When President Trump addressed a joint session of Congress last Tuesday, the public witnessed a stark and unmistakable contrast in leadership. On one hand, Trump offered a bold, well-articulated vision for the country and the revival of the American dream. On the other hand, viewers saw a Democratic Party still struggling to present any semblance of an alternative vision or platform. Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) perfectly summed up the challenges facing his party in the wake of Republicans' November sweep tweeting that Democrats' conduct at the speech was a "sad cavalcade of self owns and unhinged petulance. … We're becoming the metaphorical car alarms that nobody pays attention to — and it may not be the winning message." Historic all-steel ship that went down in Lake Superior 132 years ago, killing 27, finally found One of the first all-steel freighters on the Great Lakes has finally been discovered off the shores of Lake Superior after remaining hidden 600-feet beneath the surface for 132 years. The Western Reserve's final resting place had eluded maritime historians for years, until last summer when it was discovered by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society. The landmark find was officially announced at the Wisconsin Underwater Archeological Association's annual Ghost Ships meeting in Manitowoc. It was made public Monday. "It's the most important shipwreck (the historic society) has ever found," Bruce Lynn, the executive director of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society, told the Journal Sentinel. It's one of 13 shipwrecks the society's team has found in the past three years, and it's the one that's drawn the most attention, Lynn said. Miserable rat-[illegitimate male children]! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Southwest will charge for bags for the first time, months after saying it wouldn't Southwest Airlines announced Tuesday that it would start charging passengers to check bags for the first time. The offer of checking two bags for free has long been a popular foundation for the airline. "Two bags fly free" is listed as a registered trademark on Southwest's website. But from May 28, passengers who aren't part of a loyalty program or traveling on its most expensive fare, Business Select, will have to pay to check a bag. Far-Left NY Times Owes RealClearPolitics Apology After 538 Shutdown Less than a week before the 2024 presidential election, the far-left New York Times published a vote-suppression piece blistering RealClearPolitics (RCP). "Why the Right Thinks Trump Is Running Away With the Race," was the headline. As we now know, Trump did run away with the 2024 race. He won the electoral college. He won the popular vote. He swept all seven swing states. He moved vast swaths of the country into the Republican column. His gains with minority voters were nothing short of incredible. But less than a week before the election, the Times simply wasn't ready to face the fact Trump might win reelection and with that reelection repudiate the regime media in a way that would prove they no longer matter.
