If anyone was wondering how the POE goes... crossed at Toronto airport!
They ask the basic security questions like if you have anything over 10k (besides the ones that ask how long you are staying for ect.). Then they just confirm your wedding date and the address that your green card will be mailed to  You can ask them any questions about the green card or social that you have and they'll answer it. Super nice people and its very simple crossing over! Good luck to everyone else!

You have every right to come and visit the US we all were visiting our spouses during the process. As long as you do not over stay or work in the US you are fine. If they question you at the border, you carry your I-130 and NOA with you along with proving your ties to Canada (if they were to ask for it). It's not "illegal" though to come and visit. I asked a border guard myself when I went back home from Canada in December and he told me for my husband to bring proof of ties to Canada if they were to ask for it if he were to come and visit and they did say it depends of the officer you get too. And they never once asked for his ties to Canada...nor did they even ask how long he was staying in the states lol. It all depends on the officer though, some people get questioned out more than others, but it's not illegal to visit your spouse... I guess its a "risk" in some way, but like other people have said carry ties with you and at the end of the day its up to the officers discretion that day...the length of your stay can definitely affect their say too. If you were to stay for months, you'd probably have a harder time getting across than if you were staying for a couple of weeks. Some people definitely don't want to risk it though!

Hey everyone, thought i'd share this for whoever has an interview scheduled! I'd look into this a bit more. Good luck!!

Yep totally fine to open it. There is no "do not open" envelope anymore since it's all electronic. Inside the package will be your passport, another welcome to the US letter (or at least we got another one), and any originals they need to return to you.

I think you're okay to open that one. If there's an envelope that you are not supposed to open, it will clearly be marked as such.

That being said I don't think Montreal bother with the 'Do Not Open' packet anymore and that info is stored electronically. Though I'm sure other members would be able to confirm on that?

This might be a stupid question since I know everything is electronic now, but the envelope we receive our passport in from Canada post, is it okay to open that and take our passport out? Or do we leave it in that and take it to the border?

My husband was APPROVED!!!  😆 Thank God because I had every fear that he would be denied!! So his interview was about 2 hours only because they were busy today...about 15 people getting interviewed today! They asked all of the same questions that everyone on here got asked...actually a few less, so thanks to everyone who wrote their reviews on here about their experiences!  They asked for his passport at the first window, and scanned one passport picture, and his civil documents were asked for at the second window along with my updated taxes. All I had was my 2019 1040's and the were fine with those and we also had a joint sponsor and so he gave the officer their amended 1040's. Since I didn't meet the financial requirements and I haven't worked a day last year, all they really cared about then was my joint sponsors 1040's. They were apparently super super nice and asked minimal questions. So if anyone relates to our financial situation and is worried about it, you'll most likely be more than fine as long as one sponsor meets the minimum income requirement. A note to make was that they gave our marriage certificate back and didn't give back his police check or certified birth certificate. Third window was a breeze with the exact same questions that everyone else on here got asked and that was it!! The lady at the third window was nice enough to try and expedite our passport printing process once they heard my due date is next Saturday!!! SO now its just fingers crossed that he gets back here in time for the birth 🤞 ** FOR THE CHECKPOINT ** My husband just crossed the checkpoint now and they didn't even stop him coming into Ontario so he was just flagged through and was unable to ask for you guys about coming into Quebec, sorry!  Not sure if it was because he had a Ontario license plate, but he did say that a car with a Quebec license plate also just got flagged through and didn't even stop them so i'm not sure who they are stopping and who they're not! Good luck to everyone else who has interviews coming up!! They are super nice and you will have no worries as long as you have all of your civil documents and taxes  Don't stress!!

Yes it did. Interview on Wednesday and when I checked Friday morning it said Issued and final processing. I got the tracking number by email from Canada Post on Friday as well. Canada post said it would be delivered by end of day Wednesday but it was at the post office in Richmond on Monday. Canada Post sent me an email that it was ready for pickup Monday.  So it was pretty fast.

My husband is even considering leaving tonight to Montreal and just stay the 12 days that he has to there and not even risk it. I don't trust the Canadian government, they're idiots and will probably deem an interview as non essential. Seriously so stupid to do a stay at home order right now. Like they couldn't just stop at a lock down...
