I meant that his RG was not issued in the State of São Paulo (which means he needs to get his São Paulo police certificate in person at Poupa Tempo and can’t get it online). He’s Brazilian. The issue is he’s not currently in Brazil so he’ll need to travel to do this and we’ll lose time waiting until he’s able to travel.

Thank you! I wasn’t aware of this.

Try the Poupa tempo or even if he knows someone who lives there ask to try to take this from him. They have like automatic machines too. I suggest him to call the police too and ask for it, because of the pandemic maybe they can open a exception.

    Good luck!

My husband and I are gathering the documents we need to send to NVC. Based on where my husband has lived, he will need to send three Brazilian police certificates (one federal one and two state ones (Rio and São Paulo)). However, since he doesn't have a São Paulo ID, he'll have to get this state police certificate in person instead of online. Will NVC only begin reviewing our case once we've submitted all documents or can we submit this second state police certificate later when my husband is able to travel to São Paulo?

He doesn't need a Sao Paulo Stated ID, there's not such thing. In Brazil you just have 1 National ID, the "RG". Period.

I lived in 2 different states too and did everything online.

He can create a account on the POUPA TEMPO too. Using his CPF.

Is he brazilian or is living in Brazil legally?

    Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing great.

Please help me out with the situation described below:

I filled I-130 Petition online for my mother back in May-2020, however the case is still pending and I didn't receive either approval or rejection.

When checking for processing times on the website it says that it takes 7.5-9.5 months to process it. As of today, 12/07 there are still no updates in regards to my case.

I am wondering if it Is because of COVID-19? Should I start worry?

Also, my mom lives in Russia, but she has U.S. Tourist visa, and she just came to help us with the baby for few months, and I was wondering:

    1. How long in advance will they call her to the interview in Russia? We need to make sure we get her back to Russia by that time

    2. Is it possible to schedule an interview in U.S. in case she is still here when the application is approved?

Should I even think about doing that or its a hassle and its easier to just send her back to Russia for the interview?

    3. What are the next steps after I-130 application is approved?

4.How long should the whole process take?

Thanks for all your help guys!!!

    Appreciate it!

You are still inside of the " 7.5 -9-5" months. After that (February) you can start to over think!

It took us three years from applying IR-1 till got the visa, then 3 years permanent resident , N-400 took one whole year to the interview and now 8 weeks or even more for the passport.

    And what is your question?

This is normal! In my home country took 3 months for me to get my passport, in not covid days.

And answering your tittle question: yes. Imigration is a waiting game and you are in the final phase. Enjoy it!

Hi @Caleb Aaron do you have a US domicile?

You definitely can use assets to help but you will need to prove that you have a income in the US now! Not in the future.

You will need Tax return yes or yes, and you didn't filled like you said.

Please be prepared to receive a Request for evidence because they will probably ask you for a co-sponsor.

    Good luck

  7. So, you take the wrong way, want to blame others for it and want others to pay for something that was your mistake?...

Are you really reading your own posts?

What happened was exactly what happens when someone try to take a shortcut. The best thing you can do is realize the mistake and move forward with a correct and honest solution.

I leaved the copy of my Vaccination records that the doctor gave to me and the Rx in my pack bag but they didn't request it.

They just checked my passport, sent me to another room and about 20 minutes later they gave me my passport back and I was free to go.

    Good luck and congrats

Hi, I am going to try to make a long story short. In 2014 I brought my husband here on a k-1 visa. We did everything by the book and I thought life was going to be perfect. I know many people who have had amazing lives with their foreign spouses so I don’t want to scare anyone from this. After his arrival things seemed ok for a while we got his green card and he refuses to work and I honestly can’t even teach him to drive because he just does not get it and he nearly wrecked the car on multiple occasions . Now he can’t even pass the test to get a drivers permit again. Once he got his permanent residency he completely changed. I made him get a job with me and he intentionally got fired and threatened to shoot the place up. He has pushed all of my kids out of my house. Three are adults but they refuse to see me when he is around. The youngest just avoids him when she is around him. He got mad because I allowed my youngest to watch a TV show and picked up a steak knife and told me he should kill me right now. My jaw dropped to the floor. If you love someone you don’t do that. I know that I can just divorce him but the Affidavit of Support locks me into supporting him and since he has worked 9 months of the 7 years I would be stuck doing just that. I am nit rich. I make enough to support my family but not enough to support him as he lives separately. He has had his passport expired fir 4 years now and we are finally getting it renewed because I am pushing. He keeps backing out every time we book a flight to “visit” his family in his own country because he know I am going to aak him nit to come back. During an argument the other day i hit record on my phone and laid it face down so he didn’t know and have audio of his saying that what he did when he threatened to kill me was perfectly normal and acceptable when you’re mad. It isn’t! If you truly love someone you just don’t do that. People I worked with told me that they contacted immigration when he said he would shoot the place up if he had a gun. Nothing ever came of it. I looked into it for his threat to me but it said that I had to give my name and if they question him they can tell him who made the contacts. Anonymous reports aren’t guaranteed to be looked into. I can’t trust him enough to make such a report in case they don’t act on it and remove him so I am trying to just get him to go see family. Does anyone know if it is possible to serve him while he is in another country and do you think I can use that audio to block him from returning? Any tips on how to solve this. I just want my life back.

Why you didn't call the police? Or the place you work? This is not a imigration issue if he is violent.

We got the email to redo medical and then they would finish the visa. My questions are:

What happens after you receive the visa?

You will be happy haha this is what will happen!

Do you have time to make plans for travel?

This is on you. You have 6 months for the date of your medical to travel.

What plans should be made in regards flights and what flight should we do?

I recommend you to check all the bans and everything about COVID to avoid flights to pass to any ban country

And what should expect with layovers and then getting to the US?

Like I told before, check this information before book the flight.

Getting here will be like: you will arrive,  go to the lines, a Officer will make you some questions (or not) and guide you to a room. You will wait and then other person will call you. And ask whatever they want (in my case they just asked me my marriage date and he explained to me about my SSN)

Depending of your POE (city you will arrive) check the local instructions about COVID.

We need any info you can give please?🙏

For passport application, I have a question on the "city of birth" item that needs to be filled out.

Do I need to submit additional document showing what city I was born ? Or they'll just use what I put there?

    Thanks

    US Passport?

You need to answer the truth, always. If some document is needed they will let you know.

In my country, the birth certificate is the document that shows the city where I born. Don't yours?

    Hello everyone,

My wife and I successfully completed the spouse visa a year ago.

Can anyone tell me what the next step is for the conditional spouse visa? I remember there is a 2 year limit on the visa and that I need to fill out additional paperwork, but I cannot seem to find any information online. Any help would be appreciated.

I apologize if this is posted in the wrong forum.

Hi. She need to apply for the ROC (Removal of conditions) form I-751.

You will find all the information here in VJ and on the USCIS website.

She can start the process 90 days before the Green card expires.

Thanks for the response. Is there any way for us to do this without going into a branch? COVID-19 and all, we want to limit our exposure as much as possible. Applying online was where we ran into this LPR requirement. Thanks

A lot of banks have like drive-thru services. You will be safe in your car. We used to open our account. Ask the bank for this option

    I see.

I guess I have 3 more years to go excluding 2020.

I cant get a joint sponsor.

    2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023?

    Will this be it?

Just got NOA2. How do I postphone the NVC stage so that I dont have to repetition again?

Lol, my daughter who has CRBA will be 4 years old by then before coming in the US, since her mom is the down being petitioned.

    Thanks.

I think you can wait the time you want (maybe someone with more experience can answer you better) but let me ask you that.

Did you filled your taxes in 2018,2019? Why don't used?

Yes, maybe you didn't get enough money than but you have now, right?

When we filled my husband had 2017 5k, 2018 14k, 2019 65k and we where approved.

Do you have any savings? Or other things?

My question is that I only have 2020 IRS to give for AOS for my wife.

I dont meet income 2019 and below IRS tax years.

But for 2020 this years income is more than enough.

Can I just submit 2020 IRS transcript with my w2s when I file January next year?

    Thanks so much!

If I need a household co sponsor, can I use my mom? She is retired, but do they combined our income since we live in the same household?

    Thanks!

You will need the last 3 years of taxes. Not just 1 year
