Tonez got a reaction from TedsGirl in RFE for I-693 (even though DS-3025 was completed)
Hi yes. I ended up having the medical redone as requested in the RFE. A couple weeks later they sent another RFE asking for the same medical, AGAIN!

I contacted my congress representative who did whatever she does, and my case and Green Card were approved less than 48 hours later

Tonez got a reaction from Chancy in RFE evidence sent to USCIS - USIS sent another RFE for same evidence
    Update:

Was contacted by my congresswoman's department. I sent them all the info they required. They called me today to say they spoke with USCIS yesterday and they said my Green Card application has been approved.

I received a call from USCIS a couple hours later saying my RFE evidence (I-693) arrived on September 14th (which I already knew due to USPS tracking) after the first RFE, and my application has been approved and my card is being produced. When I queried the second RFE and asked why I was asked to send the same documents a second time, the agent stumbled over his words "erm..well...er...I think that what might have happened was...er... Someone didn't upload the documents to the system...and...er... Therefore the system didn't recognise we had those documents"

Well ok then. Anything to avoid admitting blame I guess.

Anyway, my Green Card is now being produced. Celebration time

"Limited exam?" $280 is expensive for all the quotes I got here, I only went with them because they could fit me in quickly. And they definitely took bloods, no one said anything about it being a "limited exam"

It's been 2 weeks since I contacted my congresswoman, I haven't heard anything back

Tonez reacted to Chancy in K1 visa - SSN denied by system
No, the "system" would not automatically deny a K1 visa holder's SSN application.  Did the SSA employee tell you what system she was even checking?  You can check the USCIS SAVE system yourself here -- https://www.uscis.gov/save/save-casecheck

You should also verify your I-94 record to ensure that your admission status says "K1" and that your personal details are recorded correctly -- https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/recent-search

    @Tonez

It’s not going to go through next week or in 30 days. The social security office needs to send it off to have your entry manually verified by USCIS.  I’ve seen it reported a lot with UK passports. Your entry is recorded by a scan of your passport.
If that scan records your entry as JOHNDAVID MOORE
and your name is JOHN DAVID MOORE, then you don’t match the USCIS database and won’t match in 30 days. USCIS has to manually verify your entry if there is any kind of glitch like that. You’re likely in the database, but not under the exact name on your passport.

Tonez got a reaction from hillabye in United Kingdom US Marriage Visa Approvals by Month (K1 Visas Way Down, CR1 Visas Up)
I don't know about "artificially" slowing down K1 visas, but as someone whose K1 case is at the NVC waiting to go to the Embassy, I can say we have been told by the NVC and the Embassy that they are not requesting more cases due to "covid restrictions" and "UK and US law" which is complete rubbish. There is no law stating they can't process these visas.

This is why the lawsuits are happening. The lawyers have realised they the embassies aren't processing without a legal reason and are therefore looking for mandamus writ to make them do their job.

Maybe enough lawsuits will kick them in to hear and they will start processing properly again soon?

Tonez got a reaction from Boiler in K-1 AOS phase work query
Firstly, I have fully researched K-1 and CR1 and that's why we (me and my fiancé) chose the K-1. We can afford the income gap easily, so please don't patronise me.

Secondly, I have seen no legal document stating that working remotely and getting paid in another country is illegal during AOS (it is legal to do on a tourist visa) so can you back your claim up please?
