How long after crossing the border (december 15) should I expect to receive my SSN card ? I have paid the fees online for the GC and for that I know it will most likely take time. But I was wondering how long it would take for my SSN card as I am waiting for this to be able to change my driver's license. I checked the box on the form DS-260, so I'm just wondering when I should start being worried and go to an office for my SSN card.

Also, is there a way I can track my green card status ?

Ssn came within 10 days of crossing (crossed nov 7) and gc came dec 8.

We just made a spreadsheet list with all of the contents.  The border agent basically skimmed it and handed it back.  It was pretty detailed, so I think he figured whatever.  Someone else just went through recently...I can't remember who though.

@rafale1973 we crossed the border last month we had a list written on paper by hand and a uhual. Neither things got checked.

Hi everyone! Congratulations to everyone who’s been approved and good luck to all those with interviews coming up!

My interview is coming up and I’m preparing for it. Everyone who has posted their experience at their interview has been so helpful in giving us an idea of what to expect!

My question to those who have been interviewed already, when you were asked how long you’ve stayed in the US and/or if you’ve ever overstayed in the US, were they referring to the amount of time you’ve stayed in the US in a single trip or in a year (calendar or rolling)?

The longest you stayed in one visit

Oh man, I crossed the day after you, also to Washington, and also had Texas as our service center and my green card still says fee was received. You are so lucky that everything arrived so quickly! Maybe we'll get a surprise in the mail tomorrow haha :P

I didn’t even know there was a way to check status! Lol hopefully it comes in mail today or tomorrow! Let us know!

Just left the SSA after applying for my SSN. I opted out of having my SSN automatically sent to me so I wanted to share the process for getting an SSN/SSA appointment in person during COVID. The timing is specifically for the downtown Seattle office since that’s who I’ve been dealing with, it may be faster or slower elsewhere.

I called the first business day after POE and was told I couldn’t come in until 14 days after I’d last been out of the country so they’d have someone call to schedule an appointment the week after my 14 days were up. The Monday of that week I called in again and was told I’d be called in 7-10 days. Later that afternoon I had a missed call and a message from a woman who just said “SSA” and the phone number for my local office. I called back and was told I’d be added to the list again for a call. After a week I hadn’t been called back so I called to follow up and it turns out by missing the first call I was put at the back of the line and had to wait another 7-10 days, so stay glued to your phone! This morning at 9:45 I got a call saying they had an appointment today at 12:30.

The process itself is easy, you put your documents and application in an envelope and submit them at a window and then wait to be called up. There were only 3 of us waiting but it was 55 minutes until we were called up (they initially called me up to ask if I had an EAD because they’d missed that the stamped visa is a temporary i551 but it was fine as soon as I pointed it out so I had to wait another 30 minutes after that but the other two people got to leave after being called up the first time). They said I’d get my card in the mail in 2 weeks and I couldn’t get my number before then and then gave me a receipt that says I applied today. Now to wait for the card!

You should have must let them send it to you! My husband got his within 7 days of arrival.. does anyone know how long til we receive actual card?

    Hi,

Even if my case was updated : 17 Nov- 2020 ,  'READY'.  Today, I was trying to register my appointment in Montreal, but I couldn't do it.  Maybe someone can help me.

    thx

Sometimes you have to wait 24 hours before it lets you. I guess it works differently for everyone. We had to wait when we got our date

Hi VJ Fam! For those of you that received interview letters, are you uploading your most recent tax returns (2019)/Affidavit of Support directly into CEAC? Or for those of you that have already had your interviews, how did you upload? I see where I can add in additional documents to CEAC, but do I click the "Submit Documents" button at the bottom as well? Want to make sure I'm uploading correctly! Thanks!

I had uploaded it before my husbands interview and took copies with him. They looked at both my 2019 and 2018 tax return

Sitting at my gate in YVR after POE. Super easy process. CBP took my fingerprints and photo and then took me to secondary. Waited 20 minutes and then was called up and my visa was stamped, all I was asked was to confirm my intended address. The guy warned me that USCIS is slow due to covid so if it gets close to a year and I still don't have my green card to call USCIS to get my visa extended.

Weird they didn’t take his fingerprints at the land border! But whatever we are officially all done!!

my data points: no change in status on CEAC portal after my interview, which was Monday. It remained as "ready". The first change was "Issued - undergoing admin processing" about 30hrs after the interview, which was yesterday, Tuesday.. It changed to "issued-final processing" today, Wednesday, 24hrs later. Shortly thereafter I received EMAIL notification of tracking number label being created including the tracking number. So from interview to tracking number was approximately: 54hrs.

    My data points:

ceac status was ready after interview on Monday until Tuesday where it went to issued admin processing and few hours later went to issued final processing. Wednesday 10am pst got email with tracking number estimated for Thursday delivery.
