  1. It should be straight forward from this point. Those people just sitting on our files for nothing. After the interview if they just ask you for the medical then i do not see any reason for delay except they are just lazy.
  2. I agree what demise said. If your VAWA is approved then you can terminate your asylum. Hire a good attorney. USCIS will not make any decision until you are out of court. Do not delay.
  3. what?? Did you inquire about your i-485? What is the status of it? When did you apply for i-485? Did you send it together with VAWA or after the VAWA approval?
  4. yeah when my case was approved at that time USCIS was taking 24 months but they decided mine in 26. Right now USCIS is taking 35 so you are almost there.
  5. I didn't receive RFE just 4 prima facia. I had to wait 26 months. There are many other who didn't even receive prima facia just straight to approval.
  6. Just hang in there. You almost there. Once VAWA approve then in 6 months you should get your green card depending on how busy is your field office is.
  7. You can still file within 6 months of the expiration date on their current EAD.
  8. Yes he can apply 4 months to expire. This is link where you find where to send the application. https://www.uscis.gov/i-765-addresses
  9. yes you can ask for. I went to an info pass with someone else and we did ask for a supervisor. The supervisor was able to resolve the issue, However, that was a different case.
  10. There are few things i would do. 1- I would reach out to congress person for help at this point. 2- I would make an info pass again and this time i would ask for a supervisor if i would not get satisfactory answer. 3- I would get another copy of my medical from the doctor (this does not cost over $ 70 and if you can afford) and take that with me at the info pass appointment. I would hand that to a supervisor.
  11. Well deserved. So many people left after getting their green card. However @Rhema1 still here contributing to this thread and helping vawa community.
  12. I agree with @Rhema1 May be that's why they are asking you to send the birth certificate to verify the name again. Or they might have misplaced the old one. So just send them what they asked you to send.
  13. yes USCIS will send you a RFE for medical. Best of luck!
  14. Next you either expect an interview which is very rare lately or if you send all the required documents specially up to date medical then USCIS will approve your green card. You might either get an RFE when USCIS will review your form and if they think you are missing any documents.
  15. Did you response to your RFE? That is the important thing. Prima Facia is really does not matter if you never took advantage of it. Most of us on this forum never really used Prima Facia.
  16. yes those are two different things. With the Prima Facia you can get some public benefits. On the other hand RFE is something that USCIS request from you, like additional evidence. As per your original post USCIS sent you 4 Prima Facia not the RFE.
  17. Usually i do not trust these attorneys. You can ask your congress person to get it for you from USCIS. However, are you planning to use prima facia? If not then you really do not need to do anything. However, you need to confirm which address uscis is using.
  18. What address do they have in file? Have you checked with your attorney if he/she received your prima facia? If you and your attorney never received any letter from USCIS. Then you can ask your congress person to reach out to USCIS on your behalf and resend.
  19. Well deserved. She is phenomenal. She has helped me through out the process. I have learned alot from her! Thank you @Sandra G.
  20. If i were you i would ask senator to confirm with USCIS what address do they have in file. I would also reach out to former lawyer just to confirm if he/she received any of my letters.
  21. Chat with EMMA and tell them you want to make an appointment to inquire about status of your i-485. Then they will call you within a week to schedule an appointment.
  22. Yes it is normal case is not updated. Your interview should be straight forward yes/no question. However, you can never predict with USCIS. It is all up to you how comfortable you are without a lawyer.
  23. I was in a same situation as you are. I made the infopass appointment to get the update and from there process was fast. I would say make the info pass to get the update.
  24. I am not really sure when exactly they transfer my i-485. I never got any notification neither i inquire about it.
