Done with interview and oath. All under 2 hrs at newark.

You cannot go in 15 mins before interview. So be prepared wait if you are early but it's better to be there early on time.

Went up to 15th floor. Presented appointment letter and waited 20 mins and was called in. Phones were allowed.

Civic test was pretty straight forward, as was reading and writing.
Standard verification of things on application.

They gave me a receipt that I had passed. I was told finger print verification was taking time. I didnt know what that meant. Apparently it was happening a lot today. I was asked to wait.

Waited for another 30 mins. Then about 20 of us were asked to go to a room for oath. Got a certificate and passport application.

Easy breezy. Years of waiting all culminating finally. I have to say it feels great.

When we went to N400 interview, Mount Laurel claimed to "not have our I751" or even know anything about its whereabouts, and our N400 couldn't move forward. Mount Laurel and USCIS were both absolutely no help, at all. We finally decided contacted Senator Bookers office for assistance. Two days later our I751 was approved after two years and N400 scheduled for oath.

The entire email exchanged between the senators office and USCIS was sent to us... the I751 was there the entire time, they lied straight to our face and got us all worked up over it being lost. Our I751 was listed as "pending review" with the officer assigned to it for over a year! And the liasion stated she would "let the officer know about the inquiry and encourage the officer to make a decision within 60 days"... So happy this is almost finally over.

Finished my interview and oath ceremony yesterday.
Nothing unexpected. Following civics questions were asked
    - Tax filing date
    - Longest river
    - War fought in 1900
    - President during World War 1
    - Current Vice President
    - Father of the nation

Now wife's interview is on Oct 30th. I asked two separate officers if she'll need my Naturalization certificate. They both said she'll not.
Will update here about her experience too.

Thanks everyone in this community for all your help.

    Hi Everyone,

I attended my combo N400 & I751 interview at Mt. Laurel yesterday (Sept. 24). My N400 interview was scheduled originally for April 17, but cancelled due to covid. The interviews went well. Officers were very nice. I passed my test and approved for both n400 and I751. I had the oath ceremony the same day. I am a US citizen now. My UCSCIS case status were updated for both cases, first N400, then for I751.

Good luck to everyone who are still waiting for their interviews. This has been an extremely supportive online community for me, and I hope everyone gets their citizenship soon! Thank you for all crowdsourcing information about your experiences and support.

skskskks reacted to Limey in Became a citizen today - Interview with covid precautions
My interview was scheduled for today in Raleigh NC (Durham) and I was given details about precautions for covid19 in advance (wear a mask, don't arrive more than 15 minutes in advance, etc).

Upon arrival and having navigated security I was directed to a numbered room where there was an ipad video link to the interviewer in another room. The entire interview was conducted via the ipad so there was no close contact with other people. There was hand sanitizer in the room. For the parts where I had to write things down the interviewer sent things to the printer in my room and I was asked to write and then hold them up to the camera.

After being approved I was sent to a larger room next door with around 8 other people - we all sat on chairs that were around 10ft apart. After a wait of around 20 minutes the oath ceremony was conducted, and we became citizens.

It was disappointing after such a long visa journey that it had to conclude without a traditional ceremony that friends and family could attend but I have no complaints - I was very impressed at how well USCIS handled things and have adapted to continue operating during the pandemic.

Best of luck to everyone else out there and stay safe!

Guys, thought of giving an update
My interview went well, but since it was for 2:45pm, they couldn't do my oath on the same day. They are only allowing aboout 15-20 people per oath ceremony due to pandemic. So if you interview is in the morning, chances are you will very likely finish the oath at the Newark location

    Questions were very straight forward
    1. One american tribe
    2. Party of current President
    3. 3 Original colonies out of 13
    4. One state that borders Mexico
    5. One writer of Fed Federation
    6. Why do we have 50 stars on the US Map

To read: Who was George Washington
To Write: We vote for the President in November

A friendly officer; we just chit chatted for a little bit as he was asking me some basic verification like my address, where my husband woks, where i work, my nature of work, whether kids are American citizens, about my parents (coz they are citizens)
Also asked me if i have ever voted before, if i claimed to be US citizen, Have I been to immigration court?

Then he congratulated me and said I should hear back in 3-4 weeks with new oath date.

In and out in 30 mins. I reached at 2:15pm and 2:40 was called for interview and I was out at 3pm. He asked me for GC, Drivers License (Address proof) and all passport (expired and new). No other documents asked.

So guys good luck and all the very best!! Now I wait for Otah Ceremony!!

I fully support shutting down their offices and holding off on conducting interviews etc.

Interviews can resume after whatever time the situation is deemed to be under control. Until then, we can all remain permanent residents etc.
Not sure why people are in such a haste to become citizens so bad that they will want to write to their reps etc.

The health of everyone is more important than your personal desire to become a citizen.

We will find out during the week if they are cancelled. What's good thing is USCIS seems to calling candidate and letting you know if cancelled. That'll say us a trip to a public place during virus. Let's see what the week brings.

It's with shock and happiness that I report I am now a CITIZEN of the USA. My oath ceremony took place in NYC today (Federal Plaza). They did say however that this was going to be the "last ceremony until further notice" (at that location) in reference to the coronavirus situation. The ceremony for 150 people was abbreviated (much shorter than usual) and no friends/family were allowed in the room. So while it's not clear what is going to be happen in the weeks ahead with regards to oath ceremonies at Federal Plaza (Manhattan), today was a good test run for how to successfully conduct a modified oath ceremony which still ticks all the boxes!  I am hopeful they will find a way to keep ceremonies going without cancelling or delaying them outright - at least in that particular location.
