Marriage case. After 4 failed expedites, asked help from congresswoman (and failed),I didn’t even check the status much anymore because I’m so demotivated….suddenly I saw this notification today (80 days total). I literally cried

Wish you all good luck for other EAD warriors. Ur time will come soon

    Thank you!

It lasted about 30 minutes total, she asked how we met and how we handled the COVID situation (my k1 appointment got rescheduled 3-4 times), asked when we got married and where, asked us if we have any documents and pictures go give her to prove a bona fide marriage and after that was just the yes and no questions from the application really, all while doing some small talk (we talked about some tv show and about art exhibitions here in LA)

Then she asked if we have any questions, answered a couple I had then said she's going to approve us, what's going to happen after (applying in 2 years for the permanent card), made me sign a document and voila

I'm back with an update! We had our interview this morning at 9:30 and didn't even have to wait in the waiting room for long (less than 10 mins)

Agent was really nice and she said we got approved, tho will be waiting for the status update to make it 100% official!

I didn't catch them over the phone but I did it via their website around the same time as @Aly123

I completely agree. I’m not sure where the confusing is arising from- if you weren’t part of the initial EO on immigration and you are not H-1B, H-2B, J or L then you are not affected.

If you already have a valid visa and passport then you are also excluded.

Are you really asking why people are panicking? This is a high stakes process and it is stressful, the pandemic is stressful, a temporary ban with no end date is stressful and not having information is stressful. It makes sense to worry when you just want to be with the person that you love.

I wish that people would speak with a civil tongue. When someone tries to help you be thankful for their courtesy. If you don't like their answer just MOVE ON and not stop to make a rude comment. Just my 2 cents.

What I would say to all of you is this is not a hard process. It's so simple, but you want to make it so difficult for yourselves.

You apply (I-129f) and wait for their answers. They will contact you visa a NOA1 for the initial filing and then when the application is approved, which will be your NOA2. BTW, it's rare that someone is denied so there is something you can take off your plate.

Next, it takes 30 days from USCIS to NVC and 1-2 weeks for the case number to be assigned. Call NVC on that 2 nd week to get your case number.

Then you know when the shipping dates are from the PDF. Find yours, and then you know when it will go to the embassy.

Then you have the DHL hack, and you will know when your file will land in your country.

Then you have CEAC to wait for the ready.

Next, you can get the P3 for your embassy early and begin paying your fees, scheduling your appointments.

Then you know when your scheduled appointment is for the interview. When the interview is over asked if you have passed. Most do.

Then wait for notification from the embassy when your visa is ready. Receive your visa and finish your business in your country, get on a plane, and look for someone at the airport that has a great big smile and that should be the sign that you made it.

So, why is it you are all so worried. Go about your business and let the process work. There NOTHING you can do to speed it up, so stop trying to intervene and try and move it faster. It's not going to happen.

That's why I can't figure out why everyone is in such a tissy. Now before you get on here and reply and tell me that you miss your "lover," I get that. But that doesn't matter to USCIS, NVC or the embassy. So don't go there.

Please don't quote the long post as it just makes a mess of the thread. Use @Greenbaum if you want to reply, add a comment or even agree with me.
