My daughter-in-law had her interview yesterday and was approved.
Some comments from her:
1) A lot of the non-English speaking people seemed to have been called first. My DIL was one of the last people to be interviewed.2) Most interviews were short from what she observed. Some were as long as 25-30 minutes. A few were rejected as the CO wasn't satisfied.
3) Some questions asked to my DIL were:
a) Who's calling?
b) Was yours a love or arranged marriage? If arranged, how?
c) Where will you go once you reach US?
d) Do you plan to work? What will you do? What is your educational background. She was then told her visa was approved.
Thanks to everyone in VJ for the great support & feedback thru this arduous process. Good luck to everyone waiting for the visa interview.

Hello,
thank uou you for the reply.
My DQ for parents is June 26. One of member for IR5 did receive interview yesterday for his mother but not for dad.
I know the person. His Dad & Mom had different DQ dates but they were given the same interview date. May 6 was the mom's and 4/29 was Dad's.

Hello,
I am waiting for my parents visa interview and its been over 2 months now.
Has any recently received visa interview date for parents Mumbai consulate??
any update will help
thank you
What is the DQ date? As of yesterday, any one waiting for Mumbai IR/CR visas with a documentary qualification date thru May 6 have gotten the interviews. There has been significant delays with MUMBAI over the summer and perhaps they will be resolved with the fiscal year completion and the lessening of demand for non-immigrant visas. If you had a June DQ date, it is perhaps unlikely for you to get an interview notification till October which means the interview will be in November. A number of folks had waited 4 months for an interview date over the summer. Your mileage may vary but be prepared for delays.

So, July stats are out.
For Mumbai.. we all blamed F2A currency... Actually the total number of visas given in July was drastically down. However, F2x only had about 75. F3x & F4x were high. CR1 is 114 and IR1-IR5 about 300. Maybe student/visitor visa had impact.
10000+ B1/B2 visas
6000+ F1/F2 visas
2500+ H1/H4 visas...

Some of us are not in the whatsapp group.. Can one of you please update the current status of Mumbai CR1/IR1 interview letters that have been received? It will be much appreciated! Thanks!
Number of folks CR1/IR1/IR5 have received IL's. DQ dates between Apr 29 - May 6. Interview dates all over the place between Sept 9 and Sept 30.
-
Does anyone have a comprehensive set of questions that CO's ask at the interview for IR1/CR1 cases specifically?

Where do you see this? it's not in telegram or on VJ or in the spreadsheet. was this on the whatsapp group? how many?
I haven't seen any mention of an IL at this time in any of the groups.

Is it true...Mumbai again gave IL’s to F2’s ...this is utterly pathetic that we US citizens have been cut again and shoved in the corner ...
Who knows? Everyone's spewing their opinions with no concrete evidence. Until July stats come out, we can't blame the F2x category for our situation

No. Did anyone waiting on Mumbai get an IL?
I saw from another post elsewhere on Vj that IL emails go out at 4am EST, so if I didn’t get it so far, I don’t think I should be expecting any notices for rest of the day.
Nothing this morning either. This is getting ludicrous.

@rockvilis correct. also in theory IR5 & CR1 have same priority. but what do i know? 🤷♂️
I don't know what to believe and what not to.
I was totally surprised that someone with a 4/30 DQ got an IL which according to NVC will not happen unless expedited regardless of visa category.
The only thing that made sense was that the person's priority date was earlier than our case. This is not explicitly stated anywhere on the NVC site. I have asked my lawyer but they haven't responded yet.

Does anyone know (for IR/CR cases) if filing/priority date is a factor IN ADDITION to DQ dates?
Someone on the whatsapp group got IL yesterday with a DQ of 4/30 (CR1) but has an earlier priority date than our case (DQ on 4/29). If that's true, then this is not made clear in any docs that I have seen. -

Any updates from Mumbai, India besides staying hopeful?
Someone just posted on a whatsapp group that they have an IL for CR1.
Indicates their CC date was 4/30 which makes it confusing as a number of us with CC of 4/29 still waiting. -

Is NVC told anything about when we can expect IL for cr1/ir1?
Nope
-
FYI.. I reached out to my lawyer and they seemed to indicate that the backlog is most likely due to the large student visa applications June - Aug. The lawyer sent a request to NVC as well and they got back a boiler plate response (after 3 weeks) which we all have been getting from the direct calls to NVC. Just got to wait this one out...

They received their nvc welcome letter not interview letter
Do you know them personally? How do you know that they made a mistake? They don't seem to have a timeline or profile

Thursday (Aug 15th) is Independence Day so maybe not that day 🤷🏻♀️
But NVC is the one sending the IL's not the consulate. I hope they are working on Aug 15th . If not, we have a different problem.
By now the consulate should have already sent most (if not all) of the interview dates available for September to NVC and NVC is just assigning the slots. -

Some interesting stats for INDIA for FY 2019.
The IR column includes IR1/IR2/CR1/CR2/IR5 cases. On average about 250-300 cases per month cases were for IR1/CR1 and bulk of it was IR5.
Notice that F2 (all sub-categories included) for the year is less than 300. I am surprised at the huge #'s for F3 & F4.July numbers will tell us if the perceived F2A/F2B spike caused the CR1/IR1 cases to be backlogged.
Note: This doesn't include any Adjustment of Status cases which wouldn't be processed in India anyways.
One other comment. I don't believe these numbers include those who are undergoing AP or were refused...
