Charlys&Indy reacted to eeaaggllee in I-751 September 2022 Filers
Quick update: I just got the receipt number after talking to Emma. Case was received and is now at EAC.
Status: case was received. But I still have not received the text or email notification of case acceptance. Is that OK?

Not necessarily I was just trying to point out that no body has a 100% interest in your case BUT YOU! Not even your lawyer, meaning do not take everything as gospel. You are in a good forum though so keep an open mind and read read read, do not second guess and you'll be fine!

@eeaaggllee
Just a heads up, everything your lawyer tells you is in fact not always correct. We have seen many a lawyer give out bogus information. The information you have listed as what you have sent to USCIS should be a good start! Remember this forum is basically a DIY forum!
Good luck and a speedy journey for you. Please fill out your timeline as it will help others and yourself! Welcome to the thread!

Hello guys,
I am new here.
Package sent : September 9th via USPS Priority
Package delivered : September 12th ( 8:30 am at Carol Stream, IL)
Not cashed yet, no text message as of today Sep 14th.
We have submitted the below evidences, but not sure if they are enough or not.
1. Copy of Green Card
2. Copy of Marriage Certificate
3. Joint Checking Account we are using
4. Three letters of support from close friends
5. Treasury Bond investments (Payable on Death to spouse)
6. Joint Brokerage Account (JTWROS Account: Joint tenants with right of survivorship)
7. Letter of Verification from our landlord confirming that we have been living together since 2017
(Our landlord is a public company, not a person. Our lawyer confirmed that there is no need to submit the whole lease agreement as long as we have the verification letters. Is that OK?)
8. Driver's license with the same address
9. Joint Auto Insurance
10. Medical, Dental, Vision, Accidental, and Hospitality Insurances where spouse is the dependent
(We also have some medical bills associate with those insurances, but our lawyer said no need to include them due to privacy concerns)
11. Joint Tax Transcripts for 2019 2020 2021
12. Travel flight, Amtrak and excursion tickets with both names
13. Emergency contacts screenshot from our employers' HR system
14. Durable Power of Attorney appointing spouse
15. Alumni Event where we were both invited and attended. The registration email confirmation has both names
16. Joint Credit Card Statements (every statement in 2022 and 2021 Summary)
17. 15-20 photos while we were travel or with friends
No utility bills since water, sewer, trash, and heat are all paid by the landlord. I originally plan to add Internet and Electricity bills but they can only have one name on it. Our lawyer said we had enough evidences so no need to add them, in case USCIS wants to make a big deal of it.
Thank you so much!

Charlys&Indy reacted to Penguin_ie in Negative attitudes in the forum
I wanted to address the negative attitudes we have seen on the rise recently in the upper/ immigration forums towards those who ask beginner/ simple questions, or have unusually fast or slow VisaJourneys.
First, there is a tone difference between the Progress forums- which are mostly for support and cheerleading, and the Info forums, which are mostly to have questions answered. While all our forums are supposed to be welcoming to all and friendly, this is especially important in the Progress forums, which are not to discuss politics, or be negative towards those fortunate to have their case dealt with quickly, or critical of those who voice sadness about their own slow progress. These forums are there to uplift eachother!
Secondly- in the info forums, you may get bad news. When a question is asked, our members are encouraged to answer truthfully, even if this may not be what the Op wants to hear, because it is important to be informed. However, the emphasis is still on being welcoming and friendly. If you need to give bad news, do so gently, and stick to facts; constructive criticism of the Op's plans ARE allowed, but the emphasis is on constructive. No need to dwell on mistakes (or tell members they should be on 90 Day Fiance- that is a personal attack and automatic suspension), or illegal actions in the past- instead, encourage and explain legal options for the future. And ONLY legal options- as per our TOS, VJ does not support, condone or encourage illegal (immigration) actions, and such posts will be removed.
Ultimately, we are here to help all members, old and new, easy cases and complicated, those who write a fact filled bullet point post and those who are panicking and don't make much sense in their first post. Yes, sometimes questions can be easily googled, or answered via a search of our forums. But if you feel that way, just scroll past- no need to criticise the OP for asking the question.

The NOA is the extension letter. The NOA will have a typed paragraph or two on it stating the your GC has an extended validity of 24 months. Again the NOA and extension letter are one in the same. Be sure to make several copies and put away the original for safe keeping.

From what I have seen, checks are typically cashed within a week (usually 2-3 days).

As always, there are no guarantees. Some airlines are not familiar with it and CBP can always decide not to let LPR in for whatever reason. Or send LPR for secondary check. But for the most part, you should be ok. People travel with it.

Yes. You are required to bring that letter along with the green card but it works the same as the card did before it expired -- you can travel.

Charlys&Indy reacted to JenIE in I-751 September 2022 Filers
Your passport doesn't get stamped after receiving the NOA. When your Green Card expires, you just carry the card and the NOA extension letter with you in situations where you need to present your card until your case is approved and you are sent the 10 year card.

Charlys&Indy reacted to OldUser in I-751 September 2022 Filers
You don't need to stamp your passport. This is only needed when your extension letter expires.

I actually did keep the NOA in the envelope and store it away safely (it was the biometrics letter I didn't keep the envelope), and my envelope does NOT say "Return Service Requested" so in theory it should forward to a new address, but as OldUser and Sarge have stated, it's iffy whether it will make it, so hopefully it either comes before you move or you're able to do something else like putting it on Hold. Fingers crossed you get it well in advance of your move!

I had no doubt your Uncle would get his money! You are in there now!👍

I hope all goes smoothly as there have been quite a few mix ups with USPS and forwarding letters from USCIS. It's prolly a good thing you know in advance of your move. I would not put in the change of address with USPS until the last possible moment or until you receive your NOA. Take some sort of proactive steps now to ensure your mail reaches you! Keep us posted.
