  1. Said the same thing about Biden.
  2. If you have found your "Life Partner" I would recommend the CR-1. Over 18 months of frustration and expense of the AOS we wish every day that we would have went the CR-1 route. So many problems trying to get your life established that can be overcome with the CR-1.
  3. Good response, thanks for your advise. Since our visit the CS was considered a physical it was not covered by my insurance. You know there has been a lot of good responses to our AOS situation, but I just want to say that USCIS could serve us better by being problem solvers and allow communication with the person who has created the problem. There is no way that you could interpret the RFA and understand what they wanted.
  4. The confusion came from USCIS, I thought we only had to do one vaccination.
  5. Not sure she opted out. We had a multitude of problems with SELC.
  6. We asked only for required vaccination but the CS would not do it and required a complete physical with x-ray since her old x-ray was over 6 months old. It does seem to me that the CS can charge what they want so buyer be aware.
  7. Thank you for your most helpful response. Documentation of vaccinations was a problem. We did not shop around for a civil surgeon since it was difficult to find one. Interesting to note you can not submit the new I-693 without completing the Covid protocol.
  8. The advise I followed was USCIS and since there is this rigid rule that you can not call the local office that was my only choice.
  9. First paragraph stated that the I-693 was incomplete because of missing immunization and I needed to submit an updated I-693. Then the fourth paragraph said my wife needed to have a TDAP vaccination. Knowing the doctor we used the first time was no longer available I was concerned about how to validate the I-693. I called USCIS and was told that she would only need the vaccination and would not be required to complete the entire physical. Once we found a new doctor he required a complete new physical, immunization's, blood work and chest x-ray.
  10. We are about in the middle of Dallas and Houston and our first Doctor retired.
  11. Not so much written about the I-693. A lot written about the overall drawback of the K1 vs CR1.
  12. I wish I knew the answer to that. I did not write the RFE. Every thing just seemed to be redundant.
  13. Nice if you have a choice. We had to travel 160miles to find a doctor.
  14. Recently we were knocked backwards on the processing of our Adjustment of Status. As you are aware the initial cost for the processing of the AOS is $1225.00 USD. What is not as well known is the cost of processing the I-693, that document, which is seldom discussed here on VJ, proved to be very costly, We originally paid in excess of $450,00 for the first I-693, but to our surprise after our AOS interview we receive a poorly written RFE requiring that we submit a new I-693. This second I-693 cost over $850.00. Not only the money, but up to a 90 day delay in processing the AOS. All of this through no fault of our own. When you are wondering if a K-1 is for you, or a CR-I would work better you need to consider the cost and frustration of K-1 processing.
  15. We are in the same situation. Received RFE for wife to receive a vaccination and update I-693. After locating a new Civil Surgeon he would not just give the vaccination but required her to complete a new physical which cost $750.00. RFE returned to Houston Office on April 15th and that is pretty much the end of story. When we received the RFE the requirement for compliance was not clear, conflicting statements of what was required so we contacted USCIS for clarification since you are not allowed to contact the local office by phone. USCIS told us to follow the RFE and just have her comply with the requested vaccination, and if we had a problem understanding the RFE hire an attorney. Really disappointed with USCIS and Houston for the way they handled this situation. Once again spending a lot of money only to wait in line.
