Well after 230 days the status of my I765 updated to "case was approved". I'm relieved. Now to wait for my card. 😊

227 days later && finally received our letter of approval for EAP/AP.
BTW: we didn’t receive any email or text notification and both the old and new website still say “case received”. So these letters in the mail were super unexpected.
Approval date: 8/3 but received the letters in the mail today.
I sent an inquiry about our processing time on 8/1. Not sure if it had anything to do with the approval, doubt it because we were approved just 2 days later *shrug*
Hope this gives some of you a little hope 🤗

Card is being made---I can't believe it!!! RFE went through and we should have our green card in a few days. I never thought this was going to end.

    Well this is something:

It's not the EAD yet, but at least it's progress!

Spoke with my lawyer, and he said the EAD should be in the next few days (we're currently at day 279), and he also said that it's possible (not guarenteed) that the interview will get scheduled in August/Sept to happen in Sept/Oct. That part suprised me, as I thought that it was only once you get the "ready to schedule" notice, you start the waiting time as shown for the I485 at the local office, which for San Francisco is 17-22 months?

I had my interview this morning.. did not receive a verbal approval HOWEVER i received a text message an hour ago saying that “New card is being produced”. I am OVER THE MOON right now!!! I can’t believe it! Thank you all for being my saving grace when this process has gotten confusing. I wish all of you a smooth and easy rest of the road. If you care to read my interview experience, I’ll be putting it on my timeline for you to read.

    goodluck all 🥰

Never fear! There is still hope! After 253 days, we FINALLY got the notification that our case is "ready to be scheduled for an interview"!!!!

I woke up this morning to a text message that our case had changed, and I've never shot out of bed so quickly! Still feels surreal, but I'll feel relieved once our interview is actually scheduled. Still no news on the combo card, so I'm starting to think we may have the Green Card before our AP/EAD are approved. I'll accept that though!

To everyone who is still waiting, hang in there! I know it can really start to feel hopeless (especially when you've been waiting well over 200 days). I think they're really trying to get through November now though. (By the way, our I-485 was received on November 18, 2018 and I-131/ I-765 were received on November 14, 2018)

Dang! Well, we are at 247 days of "Case was Received," and are now officially outside of normal processing time for AP and EAD. We submitted an inquiry on AP like 10 days ago, and we just submitted a new inquiry for EAD earlier today. Neither inquiry has been assigned to an officer just yet. Can't believe how long all of this is taking. So frustrating!

My wife received her green card this week, hurrah!  We'll be able to go back and visit her family this Fall.

The issue with name change that we had with the officer turned out to be her first name, not the last name, which he changed for us to my family surname as requested.  She'd just wanted to Americanize her Ukrainian name, but we can live with that.

Many sympathies to those of you still dealing with delays.

I'm out of normal processing times for AP as well (Case was received November 14th), but my EAD is still technically within processing times. I'm guessing if I don't hear anything next week we'll be outside of normal processing times for the EAD as well. We'll see what happens.

We submitted an inquiry on our AP, but still haven't heard anything from USCIS because they decided it would be fair to give themselves an extra 30 days. 🙄

    Hello everyone!

As some of you guys might recall, during our interview, we were informed our K1 file was not there and a request was made that very same day.
We had an info pass appointment weeks later and we were told the file already arrived, but wasn't yet at the interviewing officer's desk -reaching the desk takes another while-.
    We left quite disappointed.

Fortunately now, after several weeks of despair, we can finally announce that we were approved!

Certainly I wish there was no need to deal with the USCIS again, especially with ROC, which from what I've read, takes over a year. 😕
But at least we'll have 21 months immigration bureaucracy free; hopefully that'll be enough to recover from the trauma of the past year and a half -since we filed the K1-.

Our best wishes and hugs to everyone still waiting.

EAD card arrived yesterday! The delivery update changed to "addressee unknown, returning to sender" so Matt had to chase down the mail truck and get it from them. Near crisis avoided! Tomorrow he has a second interview with Geek Squad, and Saturday we're gonna book tickets for the UK in October (which are super cheap right now). The sigh of relief has finally come to us.

I think more of y'all will start seeing EAD approvals starting Monday 🤞

We finally heard back from our senator today! (Our AP is also officially out of normal processing times as of yesterday.) Our senator wrote back saying that USCIS told her all of our background checks have been completed, and my husband is currently pending interview processing at the Nashville Field Office. USCIS also told our senator that the Nashville F.O. is currently scheduling interviews for people whose I-485 applications were received on or before August 30, 2019. (I'm not sure if anyone else here has been assigned to the Nashville F.O., but that might be useful to you!)

All in all, this doesn't really tell me much about what's going on with our case, but it sounds like maybe everything is okay if our background checks have been completed and we're going to be processed for the interview. I don't know why they can't give us the combo card in the meantime, but at least we know they've finished our background checks. Hopefully we'll have an interview date within the next couple of months and we can just forget about the combo card.

Earlier this morning, we also inquired about our AP being outside of normal processing times, so we'll see if we get any more traction from there. One day this will all be over with -- That has been my mantra lately!

Had our green card interview on Tuesday in New Orleans--this was not the Big Easy!

At the interview today the officer asked for joint tax returns —- gotcha. “Ok what else?” Showed him joint checking account. “Ok what else?” Uhh, ok here’s all our Instagram photos for the past year.... he asked for jointly signed mortgage, which we’d done, but I didn’t have (awkward shuffle through paperwork and phone emails).   He noticed that my wife hadn't put "0" in the field for number of children--glad we didn't get an RFE prior for something so petty.  He also noticed our change of address from Louisiana to Texas--I told him that we'd filed a change of address form a few months ago, and he's like "oh yeah I see it right here in the system."  Ugh, so much slack in this system.  Finally, he said we couldn't change her name through the I-485.  This is frustrating since this has been denied at the marriage license bureau in Florida, the SSN office, and now the USCIS.  Guess we'll have to do it through the Texas court system.

My wife was asked if she was a terrorist or criminal and thankfully she gave him the same answers she gave me  She stumbled over the "current address," thinking he mean her address in Ukraine, but we recovered--there were little brochures all over saying "marriage fraud is a federal offense."  Feels weird.

Hoo boy, glad we were in the perfect city to celebrate when he said “I think I have enough to approve.  In three weeks if approved, you’ll get your card.”

That said, our status online hasn't changed yet, and I've heard horror stories of people waiting forever for their card for months, and it turned out the agency was just sitting on it.  I'll definitely make an Infopass appointment if we don't hear something in less than 30 days.

Was expecting the Green Card to have been mailed by now (a week later), but it hasn't. Holiday stuff is more than likely slowing it down. I've been in contact with my congressman's office about my tax fiasco and they let me know they are closed on the fourth and fifth. Wouldn't be surprised if various government offices around the US were doing the same.

If anyone remembers, about a month and a half ago I mailed official letters to my senators, congressman, and to Trump about how processing times having increased significantly over the past 9 months and how great it would be to see legislation introduced that would guarantee EAD/AP (just those) for legal immigrants within 90 days of filing. I got a response from one of my senators! You could tell he wasn't going to sponsor any bills about it, but he said he would sign on to a bipartisan letter that has already been introduced that would be an investigation into increased processing times. That was super exciting to hear! I'll probably post the letter later so ya'll can read it.
