The minimum income level required is based upon your circumstances, primarily being your household size. Note that household size is not the same as the number of people you live with.

Edit: COs from some consulates go by the 125% level and others the 100% level for a K-1 visa.

The CO will make a decision on the public charge concern based upon a totality of the circumstances, not just minimums. There is no income level that guarantees success, but common sense is usually a good indicator.

As a self-employed individual, your current income is evidenced via your most recent year's tax return. Assuming you filed an extension, that would be your 2017 taxes. If you didn't file an extension, then you have no evidence of current income until you do file.

Thanks to VJ for the helpful topics, because of which my USCIS has approved the case and has been sent to NVC.

I am trying to figure out, what is the income required on the Affidavit of Support. I am self employed. I haven't filed my taxes yet.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    hey, thank you.

Basically what we did is, we drove up to the state/county where the juvenile record and everything else was and asked the courthouse to give us copies of everything they had. For the juvenile they only had 2 sheets of papers, but for the arrests they basically had the police report (i think), like it wasnt a lot. Maybe 1 or 2 piece of paper per arrest.

So if i was you, I would go to the courthouse (depending where those arrests etc were) and ask for certified copies of all records they had about it. If its juvenile and they can give you something (anything is fine) then youre good to go. The person at our courthouse said we could pay and they could get the stuff out of the archive but we did not do that and just sent in what they had. BUT we also wrote a letter stating, that this was everything they had about it. Our RFE was approved within 5 or 6 days without problems.

Im sorry that i cant tell you exactly what these papers where called, but just ask them about your arrest/juvenile records etc and send in what they have with an extra letter stating it was all they got.

I have had hopes dashed by watching VJ estimates.  But, if you go by what USCIS tells you, you’ll find it is pretty accurate.

USCIS is not wrong. It's their estimate and everything they do resolves around those estimates no matter what you've seen or heard from elsewhere.
VJ is crowdsourced so the higher the contribution the better we can have an idea when we'll get approved. But no matter what USCIS processing times are what you should be using when you are communicating with USCIS.

It is completely normal for USCIS to show up as being several months behind. It is just because some people on VJ has been approved early. I would go with the date on USCIS and be pleasantly surprised if you get an approval around the time VJ says you should be approved. Just don't count on it or you'll most likely be disappointed and/or stressed out.

Yes; that's the Dallas USCIS lockbox, which is the correct place for K-1s. It's just frequently called the Texas Service Center by K-1 petitioners and beneficiaries, but is not.
