Wow that sounds so amazing!!!  I'd love to take a road trip like that someday!  I've barely left the East Coast!

Absolutely - just wish we had a bit more time to explore the places too 🙃.

Our plan is to get up early and take my dog for a 30 minute walk...then drive for around 4 hours and stop for lunch and another 30 minute walk (I have a cool-bag backpack that we’re going to fill with Tofurkey, hummus, carrot sticks etc - we’ll also fill up the boot with bread, crisps, trail mix, water etc - so we can just make lunch and not need to find somewhere, as we’ll have my dog with us, which makes finding somewhere to eat a little more difficult)...we’ll then swap drivers and continue to our resting point for the night - another short walk with Gunner, before going to a restaurant, wolfing food (we’ll likely need leave Gunner at the hotel whilst we eat)...then hopefully finding a dog friendly pub!

The daily drive will be 6-8 hours - and we’ll stop at my uncle’s in Cincinnati on one night and my friend’s in Phoenix on another night 🙃.

I can see that they have increased the processing times...however, when I look at my estimated adjudication time, that date keeps moving forward - initially the earliest expected time was 30th April...then went to 22nd April...now it’s showing 19th April (which is based on the info people have added to their timelines I believe)...

There’s no real way of knowing, so we just need to carry on patiently waiting...I’m confident some December filers will get their NOA2s in April though, which will be amazing for all of us...they’ll open the December floodgates! #TeamDecember

This looks like an amazing trip!! I'm sure it will be long but wow what a memory for you both!!  You'll have seen more of the US than most of us in your first week moving here 😅

Yeah I've heard a few people mention they're trying the electronic process but I wasn't that lucky. I don't know if it's only for special cases or not but

It really doesn't, we've spent so long saying:
    "Just one more stage?"
    "One more step"
"Few more weeks and we'll hear something"
    "Maybe today"
    "One more step"
    "Last step now"

Then all of a sudden, it's here. I was driving back and it hit me like, wow, it's done. We can be together, I know there's still an abundance of paperwork etc but that doesn't matter. We've done it then and are filing it together. It's a crazy thought! So happy for you and glad you had a similar experience

Yep - the only reason for the cruise is so the pooch can come (I’m afraid of being out in the sea, I’ve seen Titanic! 😳😳😳)...get me on a plane any day of the week!

Gunner was diagnosed with a heart murmur last year (he’s 14, so not too surprising), so flying isn’t an option for him anymore - so the Queen Mary 2 is the only other way to take a dog to the US from here 😫.

If I forget that we’re at sea, it should be fun though - looks really nice and they treat the pets on there like little maharajahs 🙃.

    This is our planned drive:

Leaving Southampton on Tuesday 19th November...POE will be Monday 25th November, in New York...then drive to LA, getting there in the evening on Sunday 1st December (then Herschell will be back at work on Monday morning! 😫).

It will be interesting - and we love road tripping together...but the season will make it less fun (ice, snow and rain do not make for ideal road trips 😫)...and we will be limited because we’ll have the beagle-bear (going in places, stopping for dinner, etc) - I think we’ll make the most of it, but we’ll also be relieved to finally get back to LA 🙃.

We decided to go southern, rather than northern, as whilst it takes a little longer, it should be less icy 🙃.

They will approve a K1 in London with only the employer letter. They have no required form of proof so you can skip the tax return since it does not show your current yearly income.

When you adjust status there are more specific requirements for the I-864....tax return, and additional proof of more income or assets  if the tax return isn't showing enough.

Hope you guys have a great time!

I can recommend a couple of lesser-known spots. The patio bar at the Vdara (facing the Aria, behind the Bellagio) is beautiful for some evening drinks, as well as the rooftop bar in the Mandarin Oriental. They have a champagne vending machine up there too, which I thought was quite novel!

You can also get some fabulous pictures in the entrance to Catch in the Aria; you don't even have to eat there to take photos, since it's before you actually get to the host desk.

Thank you! Definitely going to take a look at those. We have the place to go for a meal after our wedding set so we're looking forward to that (Aureole at Mandalay Bay)

Just looking at that place now and it looks amazing!

Wow so wait are you taking the ferry over with the pooch also? That'll be a hell of a trip for sure but I have to say it'll be amazing. Eventually just keep driving West and you'll get out of the snow

I'm sure you'll be able to find some dog friendly places along the way though. I am envious as that's a truly amazing road trip that not many get to do. Not so sure Herschell will think the same come the monday !

I’m a firm fan of Skyscanner for flights only - I really like their layout, to help you find the cheapest day to travel.

Ha! Me and Herschell are going to jump a car to go home after my POE...and then drive for a week to get there!!! 😫😫😫

It’s a good job I love that old dog (my actual dog, not Herschell 😆😆), cause he hasn’t half made the emigration lengthy/expensive!

Follow up again with them in 14 days.  Use the same email chain, but change the subject line to something like:  2nd Attempt - Action Required.  Sometimes that gets a little more than an automatic reply.

To me, it looks like they may have just looked at your case status, rather than investigate to answer the concerns your fiancé raised.

Immigration, much like healthcare, you really have to be your own advocate.

Every day that goes by is one day closer to
visa in hand, even though I know it’s a special kind of frustrating waiting on that part of the process bc your lives are kinda just in a weird holding/limbo pattern.

I have never wanted a strangers visa to be approved so badly as I do for yours haha.  All my positive vibes are for you
