DESERT_ROSE got a reaction from moonsky in Washington, DC Field Office Filers
Congratulations Moonsky!
Received an email yesterday from USCIS at 4.00 in the afternoon stating that their messaging system was not working and finally back on and to check my account.
Out of curiosity checked.
Still says completion March 2019.
Wait time: 24 days??? Their math is a bit fuzzy
already took the oath last week.

I am DONE! Took the oath today. Was scheduled for 12 noon but was running behind, 1.30pm because of the crowd
85 countries were represented with over 300 new citizens.
The guest speaker was Gerry Connolly (D-fairfax)
A lot of guests even though it was said two guests only to avoid a village but I guess some didn't get the memo
Will go to DC next week to apply for my passport. No time today for post office, then again not much in a hurry.
Anyone waiting, please be patient, you will get there.
Remember, patient is a virtue.
My very best and shall be back to this forum (got addicted) to follow your journey and cheer you on.

DESERT_ROSE got a reaction from Lemonslice in Apply for EAD & SSN two weeks from arrival....
That's why I say "employment not authorized" which means cannot work until final approval. Upon such, will need to make a trip back to SS to apply for a new one to remove it. Number doesn't change.

I understand your point. But can't get a valid SS without an approved ead. Employers use e verify which is linked to the SS administration, not the EAD.
Once your EAD is approved, then can get an SS card.

DESERT_ROSE got a reaction from Cyberfx1024 in Apply for EAD & SSN two weeks from arrival....
Can only get a SS card once EAD is approved otherwise, if issued it will reflect in bold. "Employment not authorized".
Save yourself the hassle to replace at a later date.
SSA offices are always packed, worse than DMV.

That's what I was referring to by saying "not valid" for WORK ONLY". However is valid for anything else.

DESERT_ROSE got a reaction from moonsky in 2018 N400 Virginia/Washington DC Filers
I filed by mail in April 2018. Got approved in November and am taking the oath this upcoming Saturday.
Don't seem to understand about your green card being taken away
Was it revoked, stolen , lost??

DESERT_ROSE got a reaction from rochestergrad in I-751 and N400 in two regions?
You may need to notify them of the change of address and your file will transfer to Dc. It is imperative to do so since you moved for work, hopefully permanent.
It may slow down the process a bit as it does with any bit of add/delete to a file.
Once you reach the timeline for N400 filing, you will need to use your DC address.
You can submit your Q&A to the Washington D.C. sub forum which will be easier.

I applied mid April 2018 by mail.
Biometrics done May 8th.
Interview November 19th.
Approved November 19th.
In line for oath. November 19th.
Usually, timeline provided is not always accurate and cases vary.
I am not familiar with the 751 process or timeline as my case was different.
Good luck annd enjoy the journey.
